Safe and loving space to reconnect to real life. Come and play a new game.
Become a hero of your own life, experience life more fully, become more conscious and aware of yourself and your surroundings.

There is a story about four mountains, coming from Indigenous traditions. Each mountain represents a period of life that a human beings goes through. There is a baby mountain, a warrior mountain, a hunter/provider mountain and an elderly mountain. It is said that if all is in balance then the land, the ancestors and all relations will support the individual to move from one mountain to the next so that one has fulfilling life experiences. Without the teachings they need to proceed, sometimes people, individually or collectively just get stuck on one mountain. When this happens the guidance is necessary to help people to find the path, connect to the visions and move in a healthier way again.
Nature and land play an essential part in people's growth. It is the land that holds you through the whole of your journey on Earth. If you are able to feel and relate in appropriate ways to the ground beneath your feet, you will thread your path carefully and consciously. Then land becomes your teacher, introducing you to the mystery of existence, giving you experiences that you need for your growth and the strength to come through them.

Greenflow is a space where you can get teachings from the land and experience Divine through evolving your connection with the land and with all relations.

A place where you can reconnect with nature and experience more deeply your inner truth.
A place that allows of self- exploration towards inner peace and authenticity. With a calmer and less distracting atmosphere to be in, you will find the possibility of observing your thoughts and feelings more deeply, so that you can live your life with more consciousness, awareness and connection to the flow.
A place where you can learn different approaches to the land and to human relations and interactions.
A place where you can express your creativity and learn practical skills.
A place where you can experience that life can be fun and joyful even when it is about responsibilities and doing things.
A place where you can eat healthily and drink healing Samothraki water.
A place where you can introduce and implement your own ideas.
A place where you can learn about being a part of a community and tools for open communication.
A place where you can experience life in both a spiritually and down to Earth way.
A place where you can become fitter, healthier, stronger and balanced.
A place where your can learn how to embrace and express your feelings and emotions.
A place where you can express your real opinions.
A place where you can learn that life is about playing and not just about achieving goals.
A place where you can experience that life can be more beautiful than your dreams and has many amazing gifts for you if you stay open and trustful.
A place where you can explore the beauty of Samothraki’s nature.
A place where you can awake your intellect and find how amazing tool it is.
A place where we as human beings can grow together, learn to love more and accept our imperfections.
A place where we search for new ideas how to do things in healthier, more conscious and loving ways.
A place where you can feel you are enough as you are wherever you are in your life this moment.

Practically on down to earth level Greenflow is directing its resources towards regreening and rewilding desertified areas, planting fruit trees guilds, orchards and food forests, caring for olive groves, creating and tending several vegetable gardens along permaculture lines, water storage and use, shepherding and cheesemaking, supporting a womens food co-operative, natural building methods, preserving food, making natural medicines, while developing a new approach to interacting with and engaging the land and people.

We don't view our selves as a separate community but have rather became a part of the community of Samothraki, supporting its reinvigoration.

And about what will be your experience?

    Main focuses at present are:

    • Making the island green again:) Re-greening and regeneration of land

    • Soil erosion work to stop desertification.

    • Repairing damaged terraces and old stone houses.

•Garden and crops maintenance. General farm duties. Animal care. Dog walking.

•Day to day chores. Dealing with problems that pop up unexpectedly: invasions from neighbours' goats (so we have to chase them out before they destroy our baby trees), fixing things that strong winds may blow off... Dealing with a burst pipe... Capturing an escaped animal.... That kind of thing.

•Shepherding with local farmers who we work with. Includes milking, cheese-making, and other oddities.

Seasonal activities (i.e. not all year round!) include:

    • Goat-milking in spring and in autumn
    • Wood collecting in the winter to stay warm.
    • Seasonal harvesting of fruits, including the olive harvest

We are very communal. We try to do all of our activities together. You will not be expected to work alone if you feel uncomfortable or incapable doing a task.

  • Alojamiento

    Alojamiento

Refurbished traditional samothraki stone house. We have 2 rooms. Bed sheets can be provided, but it would help if workawayers may bring their own sheet.and definitely a sleeping bag, especially for your adventures away from the farm, when you explore Samothrace.

In summer we have 150 square meters of yurt space. We can accommodate large groups. Obviously, this is shared within a single large yurt and the other smaller yurts. You can also just hammock up a couple of trees. When the nights are warm, some prefer to sleep under the stars with just their mat and sleeping bag.

Guests are welcome to bring their own tents if they wish. This may be more preferable for couples, etc.

We have also accepted a number of workaway guests who brought their own camper vans, even a converted school bus!

    You will need:

    • strong waterproof boots, but I recommend also bringing tough trainers with good tread as you don't always want to be in boots. Especially in summer. But even regular good quality trainers will do for times when you're not working.
    • a torch / head torch.
    • eco friendly toiletries, such as olive oil soap etc.
    • towel.
    • slippers or crocs
    • bed sheet is ideal

In colder months, (November to April):
    • full body rain protection (in the winter/autumn).
    • winter sleeping bags are a MUST for the assurance of a good night's sleep, 4 season, (synthetic fill, NOT DOWN FILL as down is not good in wet conditions. We burn wood to stay warm, but can't do that all night. (Comfort rating of -5°c to be sure when we have cold windy nights).

We have a communal kitchen and we cooperate daily to prepare breakfast and lunch. We eat as healthy food as possible. We can cater for vegetarian and vegan, but we ourselves are omnivores.

We don't have around-the-clock electricity, and we like it that way. One of things guests enjoy here is the return to simplicity, the heart-healing vibe and the slow rhythm of daily life. It's not bare 🐻 necessities, but it's definitely basic.
There's usually enough solar power to charge phones. We seem to have a good 4G connection from the local masts.

The nearest town is 15 minutes walk, with cafes, restaurants, Wi-Fi (for internet), supermarkets etc. We walk up there almost daily, so can show you de way. 🦔

  • Algo más...

    Algo más...

There's plenty of awesome natural wonders to enjoy: waterfalls, ancient forests, beaches and other natural attractions here on Samothraki. Simply the air and the smell of Samothraki is always very refreshing and beautiful. A mixture of the smell of lots of old trees, the smell of the mountain, combined with the smell of the sea.

We also have a deal with a port town scooter shop for discounts on scooter rental, so you can explore the island on two wheels as well as your two legs. If you intend to do this, you may want to bring your own goggles and the like, as they provide the bare minimum of a half-helmet.

Local restaurants and tavernas serve fantastic food. We will always recommend the best ones.

Art and cultural activities to partake in during the summer.
