We are Susie and Peter and we moved to Tasmania in 2017 to buy our property and start the next chapter of our book of life.
We had always lived in Queensland but made the move to this beautiful island which we love. Our property is a 5 bedroom house which sits high on a hill on 20 acres, 8 hectares, with views forever.
We are very close to the famous Cradle Mountian where there are lots of great walking tracks and incredible views and unique wildlife.
We absolutley love the natural environment and being avid animal lovers we just love the gorgeous little creatures that visit our yard. By day we can often have echnidnas, black cocktoos, plus a whole array of other birds. Then by night we can go for a walk with the torch, flashlight, and see so many pademelons which look like tiny kangaroos, possums and if we are liucky we could get a visit from the Quoll or Tasmanian Devils.
We have no farm animals of our own but our neighbour brings his sheep over to our paddocks to graze. We would love to have some chickens one day when the yard and gardens are all done. We do however have 2 kitty cats that live in the house with us..or us with them !!!
We are about to start on more outside projects such as Gardens, landscaping and a few building projects too.

We would love to show you our beautiful part of this amazing planet while you are living an Aussie way of life for a while.
Its natural beauty and unique wildlife. We could introduce you to a wandering wombat or see the Milky Way in the night sky . Perhaps even be lucky enough to see the Aurora Australis which is truly amazing. We can teach each other about our countries, cultures or meals that we share . Perhaps we can even teach you some Aussie Slang words that all our previous workers always wanted to hear and use...its very funny!!! Of course you can try and teach us some of yours..even funnier!!!
Hopefully by the time you leave we have enriched your life and understanding of the nature of this place or at least your knowledge of this wonderful land..Tasmania.
Arbeit
Now that the inside of the house is mostly renovated, we are ready to start with the outside areas, where we would like to create some outdoor structures and pathways and landscaping.
While Peter does a lot of the work outside himself he could do with a hand with the bigger projects such as building and digging. We are hoping to make a rustic Mediterranean style bar and b b que area with a pergola, Got any great ideas?? a fire pit area,. Perhaps you might be great gardeners that can show us a thing or two. We also have a very badly neglected orchard that needs attention too.
Perhaps you might love cooking and can want to make us your favourite dishes !!

Unterkunft
Your accommodation is a bedroom in our house. All your linen and towels and bathroom needs are supplied. The room has a queen size bed so a couple would be welcome. As there is only the 2 of us with our own ensuite, you would then have use of the main bathroom and toilet for yourself.. There is a lounge room with big screen tv and dvd player that upstairs and another lounge room downstairs if you want peace and quiet away from the tv.
Of course we would all eat togeher and share stories .

Internet available. Mobile phone reception is sometimes patchy but house landline available.
We supply all your meals while you are with us. Food and drink , such as non alcoholic, are supplied we do not supply alcohol to workawayers but you can buy your buy your own of course.. We would expect that if you want any extras or special foods, snacks and drinks then these are for you to purchase yourself. We may offer wine from time to time but don't expect it always. The same with foods. Whatever is on the table is what is on offer. We do not expect that you can help yourself to whatever you like especially without asking...sorry but it has happened recently and we do no want this to happen again. If we go out and about we usually take a picnic with us. However if we go out to something where we don't take the picnic, and wish to purchase food or drink then this is for you to buy your own meals and drink.
