Description
Hello my name is Veronique! I am looking for help this spring to finish my move into a smaller house. The family home has becoming too big to take care of, so I purchased something smaller, less than one hour from where I live right now. At this time, I found myself with two homes with plenty to do in the coming months.
Inside both houses, I need help with organizing, cleaning, painting and small wood projects. Outside with spring coming , there is a lot to do to maintain the large garden from the big house and to create a new garden in my future home . This involve gardening but also the creation of vegetable and flower beds, as well as a small brick terrasse, a terrain de boules (bowl field) and many other fun little projects.
I can receive a single person, two friends, a couple and even a small family for 2 weeks at a time. You must be comfortable helping with some of the projects around the house and garden, described above.
We will work together, mostly in the morning so your afternoons and evenings will be free. I am looking forward to exploring around my new home and you will be welcome to join me on my walks, bicycle rides, or further explorations by car. I love taking pictures of birds and be in middle of nature. My new home is in a very peaceful little village surrounding by nature and a lot of canals which I am planning to navigate with my canoe. There will be plenty for you to do in La Rochelle and near towns but I think my home will be best appreciated by nature lovers.
You will get two days off per week so you plan to visit further destinations such as the beautiful town and wineries of Bordeaux. I have a sister who lives there and will be happy to host you during your visit.Types of help and learning opportunities

We traveled with my sister and stayed in house with 2 other workawayers, everyone had their own big room with bathroom. One of the workawayers was also Fiona (her review says it all so I'm not gonna repeat it). I just want to say that it was… read more
I stayed at Veronique's old house with three other workawayers and it was wonderful.
We worked from 9-13 o'clock, 6 days a week. We mainly worked in her garden, creating a boule alley or other stuff like powerwashing the terrace. On rainy days we worked inside, cleaning or… read more

You give us the best workaway experience.
In the beginning, she taught us a lot of things about how to clean the rooms, serve the breakfast and some work in the garden. The most important, she is always patient. It was a lot of to learn, to know, to practice. For example, we are Asian people, the way European people… read more
I have learned a lot by helping Véronique with tasks such as preparing and serving breakfasts and « table d’hôtes » dinners, making beds and cleaning the rooms, feeding the chickens and collecting eggs, making pizzas for « pizza night » with a family of guests, making yogurt… read more
