Kia ora! My name is Emily and I am from New Zealand. I am a qualified speech and language therapist but have recently been working in the sustainable travel behaviour change space, promoting cycling in my city. I am really passionate about both of these areas.

I am a social butterfly who loves making new friends and trying new things. I love getting outdoors bike riding, hiking and any kind of exploring. I also enjoy knitting, crochet and sewing my own clothing.

I will be in Europe from July 2024 and plan to do some travelling and work experiences before finding a job and settling down in the UK towards the end of the year. I have spent time in Europe in the past and have lots of old friends I am excited to visit.

More details about my language interests
I have experience teaching English as a second language and a TEFL qualification. I am also a qualified Speech-language Therapist so have evidence based experience and knowledge in this field as well. With a Speech-language Therapy background I'm also able to support with accent modification and pronunciation. I would love to improve my Italian if the opportunity arose. Any opportunities to practice speaking are welcomed, but not essential. I'm open to giving any other languages a go!

I had a wonderful time staying at the temple! While I was there there was a group of around 15 workawayers from all over the world so it was very social. I only worked on the farm for a couple of days as I'm currently working as an English teacher in Xi'an so had to work it in with my work hours but Linda was very accommodating and accepted me for the days I could do.
