I'm a very energetic, easy-going and experienced workawayer with 8 years of enjoying the variety, friendships and learning of workaway life!

My passions are caring for people, gardens, animals and the environment, and learning from people of all ages and cultures. My English is excellent; French moderate; other languages need refreshing.

I have volunteered in 13 countries on more than 50 workaways: helping with gardening, goats and dogs, renovating and painting buildings, at retreat centres, caring for children, the elderly and people with chronic illnesses ... and lots of cleaning!

After being a teacher of English language for 7 years then spending 15 years in the international aid departments of the Australian and NZ governments, I love meeting people on a more personal basis.

Judy's garden and orchard provided a wide range of fruits and vegetables, she was occasionally able to give me eggs and farmed meat, and Nigel donated some game he'd shot (rabbit, hare, peacock). Rosemary and David, thank you for a wonderful 2.5-month stay, which had to end because Helen went into hospital. You are excellent hosts, with great conversation and food, and a comfortable, unique house. The work was light and varied, and I enjoyed using the pool and bicycle. You all became real friends.
