UPDATE
Not going to renovate the old house. It is in too bad of shape. We will be continuing to cleaning up my new property in Haiku. It is located next to my container home property and used to be a pig farm. We have already taken 5 trucks to the landfill. It is not fun, but satisfying work.
UpDATE
We have with the help of alot of helpers gotten alot of clean up work done. There are still numerous giant bamboo tha needs thinning and old removed. It is a knarly job working with it. I am not a bamboo lover. hahaha
I Just hosted two girls , dorm style in one of the container homes. It worked out well. I do think a couple would be better, but two friends also is nice. It is easier on me, if people are independent and see to themselves as much as possible .
Aloha Everyone,
First, I should like to thank all those who have written to me with a desire to help. I have gotten a lot of extra projects completed. I am also learning more about hosting and the responsibilities and chores that go along with hosting. I don't mind being a camp counselor but don't want to be a baby sitter. In other words, I expect people to be mature, responsible and capable of independence.
My name is David and have been hosting on a beautiful 2.5 acre home in Huelo, Maui, Hawaii
In April, I sold the Noni farm in Huelo.
Because of all the fabulous helpers over the past year, my new place is ready for planting and caretaking. It will incorporate some permaculture design elements, but will not be 100%.
We built a two container set up with a roof between. I have a kitchen set up in a 10 by 20 Costco canopy for now. The floors are pea gravel. I love the lifestyle. One container is my bedroom and the other container could be for someone else. There is a hot shower, but not that private. Accommodations could be made.
The help needed here is general maintenance, gardening, weeding, dog sitting and tree planting.
I am an easy going guy. In addition to the juice business, I was a permaculture designer, bio dynamic farmer, compost maker and herbalist. I attended the UCSC Farm and Garden sustainable agriculture program in 1994. In college, I was an an Art and Art history major.
This new property is located in Haiku, very close to the bus line and Haiku town. It's only a few minutes to Paia and the North Shore beaches. Maui has alot to offer. These are crazy times so who knows what it will be like in a few months. Now, there very little tourists, which is a mixed blessing.
Feel free to ask questions about Maui or other hosts that I may know.Tipos de ajuda e oportunidades de aprendizado

Acomodação
Because of the low hour requirement, no meals or food is provided. However, often stuff is shared. One of the two containers is used by a Workawayer or couple and I sometimes have an extra tent available. We all share a nice almost commercial kitchen and solar hot water heated shower and toilet. The large space between the two containers is a lounge, dining ang hanging out area. The internet is decent. I discourage downloading and too much streaming. Quiet time is no later than 10pm on most nights.

The property is seclude and private. We all like our privacy and respect one another. We prefer to maintain a low key lifestyle. We discourage loud partying and no loud music. What people do outside the property is their business. No one may ever bring a guest or a strangerto the property. It is a 420 friendly place. There has been many nicw people here in the past, some of whom I am still friendly with.
The ocean is close by, Haiku Town one mile up the road, Paia Town,10 minutes away, Hookipa Beach Park 7 minutes and scenic Upcountry is close.
The last bus stop is 1000 feet away, at the junction of the Hana Hwy.Mais alguns detalhes
