Klara was the best kind of volunteer to have around— a terrific worker but also someone really interested in connecting with others. She was such a kind but strong presence in my house. She was also eager to help us out generally outside of work time which was much appreciated! I’m so happy I got to know her. Also, she’s traveling with a violin and plays absolutely beautifully! She gave lessons to my daughter and also collaborated with many people in our community. Also she’s very crafty and artistic and she brought a lot of highly contagious creative energy with her.

My five days with Jaynie and her lively family passed very happily with weeding and sowing flowers, cleaning out the large chicken pen and keeping up with clothes washing. Despite the unseasonably windy, cold weather up on that hill with a 360 degree view, the bus where I slept was cosy and the house even more so. Thank you for your warm welcome and I look forward to seeing you again.

Felix and Joudyanne lived and worked with our family during the last two weeks of September, and those were truly unforgettable days. They quickly connected with us, our friends, and our neighbors. From the very first day, Felix and Joudyanne made an effort to speak Kazakh and to learn about Kazakh culture. Many of our neighbors and friends came to sincerely love them. They completed every task to the highest standard, took initiative, and worked with full dedication. We also learned a lot through working and communicating with them. Thank you, Felix and Joudy — we already miss you!

We absolutely loved our 3 weeks with Katie and Tiger (and of course Mr. Snowball, Enzo, Francis, and Maynard!), we miss them all. We felt comfortable around their place from the very beginning and deeply enjoyed the conversations we shared. The four of us (plus Enzo) went on many fun trail runs and other side trips. We loved working around their property and they were great instructors and fun to work with. We preferred a flexible schedule and to work hard/play hard, and they were happy to do that too! Syd and I fully plan to return one day to see the progress and catch up with Katie and Tiger. Best of luck with everything! Trevor & Sydney

I had a good time with Damien on this project, mostly doing framing, and also a lot of general construction and renovation work. We went to lunch in town multiple times a week, and got to hang out offsite too. The cabin was awesome, with a view of the ocean, 20 minute walk to town, very tranquil in the evenings. Good crew of guys working on the project, we made a lot of progress in the three weeks I was there. Definitely recommend this workaway, if you like construction/renovation, and doing physical work. Also fun to hang out in Olon, walk along the beach, and enjoy a quiet coastal town. I would totally go back.

This hostel is a deep dive in the rainforest. Plants and birds are everywhere, you feel like part of it in this eco place built and taken care of with so much love. Isabela and her team are amazing, the reception work (5 hours in the afternoon) was cool and I could be part of wonderful, unique experience! 🥰Thank you all so much. I hope to be back someday.

Jacob was lovely to have around, chatty, enthusiastic, reliable and trustworthy. Helpful and tidy. It was only one week but very helpful particuarly with the dog and cat. Thanks Jacob . Happy travels and you know where we are😀

Joao and Eve were such awesome hosts and we loved our time with them. The work was relaxed and fun, and hanging out with them was great. Extremely unique accomodation. The crabs in the mangroves were so beautiful. Very enjoyable, a lot of laughs and would highly recommend staying and working for Joao and Eve. p.s. you are literally living in the Mangroves be prepared for wildlife, bugs, spiders, crabs, O-possums, etc. It's great!

I had a wonderful week in Black Creek with Melanie, Jared and little Flora. Melanie and Jared are such warm and open people that even though I was only there for a week, I was really made to feel part of the family. I had a mixture of indoor and outdoor tasks that were always simple and well explained, and I had plenty of free time to explore the surrounding area.

My stay with Siscu and Mar and their daughter Elsa and cat Garfield has been my first ever workaway experience but indeed it is one for the books! From the first day they welcomed me and made me feel comfortable to be myself in their villa. I feel lucky to have met such beautiful people! Mar and Siscu oh where do I start, these two, they are power couple. They have these energy and personalities that just shines and compliments each other. Siscu is a very skilled man, well-versed in many aspects of life from handyman work to technology, he aces it all! He is also crazy, but in a good way! Mar is what you get when you have a supermom, a coach, a doctor and a guru all in one person. She is a very inspiring woman who speaks from the heart and listens with the soul. Both of them, they are great listeners and I felt at ease sharing my story with them. A couple of weeks may have been short but it definitely is not the last time that I would come back for workaway. I haven't even used the pool! Next time for sure. Kidding aside, they have great a vision, a project with a very good message for the world and I am honored to be part of the process. Work-wise, everything is lightweight and safe. It didn’t even feel like I was doing tasks at all, we were practically just bonding and getting to know each other. This villa is located in an urbanization about 15 minutes away from Tarragona city center and it is a perfect spot I would say, closer to nature with the beach and city still within reach in just a few minutes. For me they completed my summer adventure and even helped guide me towards the next step in my journey. This place is a giver, you will not go wrong, just full of positive vibes and respect! hence if you are a workawayer reading this, you will have the best time! Please be good to this lovely family as they surely will be good to you as they have been to me. Desde el primer día me recibieron con los brazos abiertos y me hicieron sentir como en casa. Son una familia increíble. Siscu, con su energía y creatividad, siempre con algo nuevo que enseñar o hacerte reír. Mar, con su ternura y sabiduría, alguien que escucha con el alma y habla desde el corazón. Juntos son pura inspiración. También tuve la oportunidad de conocer uno de los amigos de la familia y sentirse parte de la familia me llenaba el corazón. El trabajo fue muy ligero en realidad, pan comido, se sintió más como compartir tiempo con amigos que como cumplir tareas. Todo chill! Y siendo sincero, ellos, con la bondad de sus corazones hicieron mas por mi de lo que podría haber hecho o ofrecido yo. Ademas la villa tiene una magia especial y está rodeada de naturaleza muy cerca a la playa y de ciudad de Tarragona a unos 15 minutos, este sitio te llena de calma y esperanza. Dicho todo esto quiero volver para poder ver ayudar mas en el proceso y también para bañarme en la piscina que aun no lo hice! Vaya vaya, la proxima vez a la piscina sin excusa! jaja Al final me voy agradecido, con amigos que ya siento como familia, y con ganas de volver a verlos y seguir siendo parte de este proyecto, con su mensaje tan bonito tal cual como ellos han sido un gran parte de mis aventuras de este verano y los proximos!! Así que si eres un workawayer leyendo esto, seguramente te lo pasarás muy genial. Y por favor cuida de esta familia la misma manera que ellos cuidaran de tí! Monika is an amazing host! The work was always fair and easy, and she helped me with everything from finding a job to discovering the town. She’s kind, supportive, and cooks delicious meals—definitely the best host you could ask for!

Sebas is a nice and funny person. He has worked in rehabilitation and construction before, so he helped us a lot in our project. In our free time, we spend time cooking and surfing, he is very flexible and dynamic with day-to-day plans. I really recommend him for your workaway!

Steve is a very empathetic and responsible person. He knows a lot about rehabilitation work, he helped us a lot in my project during the three weeks he was at my workaway. I hope you have the opportunity to work with him!!!

I had an amazing time in Cali at this place. Everyone from the staff, to Alvaro the owner, to other volunteers, and guests were all so friendly and great people to get along with. I was initially signed up for 3 weeks, but ended up staying 5. I would highly recommend this volunteer experience for anyone who is interested in visiting Cali, dancing, and living life like a local for a few weeks. I would definitely volunteer again if I had the opportunity.
