Vincent stayed with us for 10 days and helped with many important tasks, such as clearing the pasture fence and preparing fruit for drying. He interacted very well with the two other Workawayers here and showed genuine interest in the background and ideas behind the farm. At times Vincent was rather quiet and reserved, but whenever he engaged he was helpful, thoughtful, and interested. I sometimes found it a little hard to read him at first, but was repeatedly surprised by his openness and empathy. He is a very intelligent person and a good observer when he has the focus for it, which adds a lot of depth to his presence. I wish him all the best on his journey and hope he continues along this path of curiosity and connection.

I stayed with Carmen & Ekke for a month! This was my first Workaway experience and I couldn’t have asked for a better experience. From the very beginning, they welcomed me into their home, with open hearts, open minds, and a genuine sense of care and connection that is rare to come by. They created an environment that was both peaceful and full of life, where I felt valued, trusted, and appreciated in everything I contributed. Their kindness wasn’t just shown in words, but in small, thoughtful actions each day, from sharing stories over meals to making sure I had everything I needed to feel at home. Working alongside them was a true joy. They’re passionate, hardworking, and incredibly generous with their knowledge and time. They lead by example—patient, respectful, and always encouraging. I learned so much just by being around. Not only am I going to miss them so much but the also community around the farm and everyone who made it feel like home! I left with a full heart, new skills, and a deep sense of gratitude. I can honestly say they made a lasting impact on me, and I feel so lucky to have crossed paths with them. If you ever get the opportunity to stay or work with them, take it. You won’t regret it. Hopefully I’ll see you all soon🫶🏻🫶🏻

Dear Cory and Jennifer, From the moment I arrived, your warmth welcoming made me feel completely at home. Casa has truly become one of my favorite places in Costa Rica. It’s not only beautifully designed but also surrounded by such breathtaking natural beauty—it’s a place filled with peace and inspiration. I feel grateful to have shared even a small part in the wonderful project you are creating. The container home was incredible—so comfortable and thoughtfully put together. I loved spending time in the living room watching the rain, and the rooftop balcony views will stay with me for a long time. Thank you both for everything. Staying at your place was such a joy, and I carry with me so many good memories from my time here. I truly hope to see you again in the near future. With heartfelt gratitude, Nate

I'm sorry for the delay in writing this review! I stayed at Finca for about two weeks. The work was simple: you follow Angel, who works there, and he teaches you about organic farming. Since he only speaks Spanish, it was great practice for improving my language skills. The owner, Franklin, was not at the farm during my stay (from what I heard, he's only there less than half the year). A few issues came up while I was there (for example, the refrigerator broke and some of my groceries spoiled, and the old bed was uncomfortable and gave me body aches). However, Franklin was responsive and addressed things over the phone and via messages. There were other volunteers during my stay. While it depends on personality compatibility, not everyone followed the rules. The fruit is delicious, and the natural environment is rich and refreshing. However, be prepared for a lot of bugs and for the room to sometimes be smelly. Thank you for letting me work here for a little while! ☺️

I had the pleasure to spend 6 days with Federico, and honestly, they were the most valuable 6 days of my trip so far. From the very beginning, Federico took care of me – from arranging my arrival time to making sure I felt comfortable and settled in. The “work” itself was so light that it didn’t feel like work at all – it was more like living in a clean, cozy home and naturally helping to keep it tidy. The building facilities with the gym and swimming pool were also a great bonus. What made this experience truly unique is how much I learned from Federico. Every day he encouraged me to take notes and write down lessons for life, and I left with 6 of the most important notes I really needed. I had originally planned to go out and explore Kuala Lumpur every day, but after meeting Federico and his housemate Carson – another very kind and insightful person – I preferred to spend most of my time with them. We shared meals, tried new food, and had great conversations that I’ll never forget. This was my very first Workaway experience, and I can truly say it was a special one. I would definitely recommend anyone visiting Malaysia to spend time with Federico – it will be one of the most rewarding parts of your journey. Thank you Federico and Carson for everything – I hope we’ll meet again soon!

I had an amazing time here in Jaisalmer thanks to Toffi and the really nice people staying here with me. Toffi picked me up from the bus station and helped me with everything else as well. Even though I was only here for 4 days, he offered me to go on 2 Safari tours which were honestly breathtaking and felt like a dream! We went on a camel ride, made food over the fire, slept under stage stars and so much more! I did pay for the camel safari but he made me a special price as a workawayer and it was more than with it! In terms of work, I painted in the room and I was able to freely choose how and what to draw, so it was super enjoyable!

Eileen and Naima were easygoing, flexible, and hard working with clear direction - which I am learning myself - I am greatful for their bravery of being my first! They gave great insight on Berlin/German culture. All the best on the road 🫡Tschüss

I don't even know where to start.🥹 I stayed 8 weeks at Catherine's, got to know so many new and beautiful things and I'm so thankful for all of the experiences I got. I took care of many chicken, had the opportunity to ride western and english, cuddled all of the cats and had just fun time with her and her family. As well as get to know the other workaways at Jane's house. For work we did something else every day. Cleaned pretty much outside, did some fencing, gardening and weeding. Harvested much like pees, beans, tomatoes and a ton of zucchinis and pickles haha. I loved all of the town trips and especially the visits to the thrift stores😃 The Rodeo at my last weekend was an absolute highlight and I'm so glad that my biggest dream came true. Because of summer we went to different lakes and paddleboarded or jumped from a rope swing pretty often. Everything was fun and welcoming for me, it felt like family within days. I definitely recommend this place and will come back another time!! <3

OUR BEST WORKAWAY EVER after more than 8 years using this app ! Where to start ? Krisztina was so generous and so sweet with us. She welcomed us into her beautiful and amazing Lake view house, preparing AMAZING meals every day. We had never had so much good food in one month, ever before in our life ! Each day after dinner we would play the very funny Pirate Game and it was always very challenging haha ! We laughed a lot, and definitely cried when we left. She was like a mother for us and so she is with the 4 fellows that we will always remember: Chad, Matilda, Huevo and Yovi ❤️🐕🐕🐕🐕 Taking them on their everyday walk kept us very fit and we really enjoyed discovering new places, going to swim with them at the lake and playing with sticks (especially with Matilda!!). The 4 of them were great, with their own personality and they were always so full of love with us. The whole experience with Krisztina and her dogs was OVER the top AMAZING. It could not have been more special or unique. She is such a loving, sweet, kind and generous person, we miss being with her and the dogs, we are going to miss that place for a loooong time... And hopefully one day, see each other again?! Lots of love to the 5 of you ♥️ ❤️ ♥️ Céline and Kodo (and 🐕 👶🏽) !!! 💓♥️💓

We stayed with Jo, Heidi, Juno and Willem, for two weeks. It was lovely with them. They're such an open, easygoing and sincere family. We worked for them in the garden, did some weeding, built some ways trough the garden, put some mulch on the beds and helped in general to organize the garden. Since we're both movement instructors we love to move and the first thing Willem was doing on our arrival was to take us on a surf in Sumner. Thank you for that. At the end of our stay we even went for a little boulder session with the kids and Jo, which was so much fun. Jo and Willem were so kind and caring they made our stay in New Zealand unforgetable. Thank you so much for everything. May a bright future awaits you. Cheers, Tabea and Erik

I had the pleasure of hosting a wonderful guest from Poland. He was very considerate and always understood what needed to be done without being told. He was eager to learn, tried every task with full dedication, and even took the time to share his own knowledge and spend meaningful moments with our family. His presence brought us so much support and joy. Although I wish he could stay longer, I believe he has many experiences ahead of him. I truly hope he will come back again one day. Thank you so much for everything – it was an unforgettable time together.

Annabel knows how to work and isn't afraid of it, rather, she embraces it with enthusiasm! She helped create our new labyrinth, and transformed the walking area of our herb garden. Both projects required hours of hard work shoveling gravel and compost. Annabel was interested in everything here, and interesting to talk to. We were sorry to see her go!

Camille is a total pro! She helped us switch our website from an outdated platform to wordpress. She was very independent and productive and solved a lot of complex technical issues. She really helped organize the site and since her work, we are getting a lot more contact and business! Also, we had a great time and she also helped with the horses, other animals and had fun with my daughter. We were very lucky to have her visit us!

I loved having Marie stay with us, she's a really interesting woman who has traveled a lot. She was just with us for a week but was super helpful in many different maintenance jobs, kind and fun with my daughter and very easy to be around, we had a really nice time.

Sharing my experience honestly so future volunteers know what to expect! I stayed for a month! When I arrived, my room looked different from the original photos (though they’ve since updated them, which is great). Communication my first week wasn’t very clear—especially around the grocery stipend and the fact that I’d be sharing a room with a bunk bed. I also didn’t have AC in my room while the other volunteer rooms did. When I brought it up, nothing was done, so just a heads-up—if you’re in that room, be prepared for it to be hot. The common areas weren’t very clean at first, but that improved over time. That said, the space could use more love: updating the couch, adding real dishes and cups instead of just paper and plastic, and a few upgrades in the kitchen and living room would make a big difference. The best part of my stay was the people. Maurva, the manager, is amazing—she really cares about the volunteers and makes the place feel warm and welcoming. Allison was responsive whenever I had questions, and the other volunteers were super friendly and made me feel at home. I never got to meet Chris who is the owner. The work is simple: cleaning vans, Airbnbs, common spaces, and doing laundry. Shifts are 5 hours, though sometimes extra tasks came up after finishing the checklist, which could feel a bit unorganized. Pros: -Amazing manager (Maurva). -Light, easy work. -Fun and friendly volunteers. Cons: -Communication could be clearer. -My room didn’t have AC. -Common areas need updates and better upkeep. -Tasks could feel unorganized at times. Overall, it’s a mixed experience—some rough edges, but also great people and good vibes if you go in with the right expectations. I’m grateful for the opportunity and the little quirks that come with being in Puerto Rico, and I truly wish the team and future volunteers nothing but the best! P.S. The location is a huge plus: 15 minutes to the beach, a fun local bar nearby, and a 24-hour grocery store just 8 minutes away.

Thank you Negar and Gwendal for being such caring hosts. They really make sure that you feel welcomed and are happy to share their knowledge of medical plants, yoga, permaculture, and the activities in the area. Workawayers have plenty of privacy and a separate living area, and we often had the chance to chat and have tea together as well. Since I volunteered during the rainy “off-season”, the work mainly involved walking their 3 dogs one by one every morning, tidying up the garden and the public spaces and getting it ready for the next touristy season. They have a friendly and knowledgeable local gardener who only speaks Spanish, so it’s a good motivation for practicing your Spanish skills. Their home is like a paradise, just next to a shallow river, and you also get the chance to try different types of fruit, depending on the season. Be prepared for the elements of nature (humidity, sun, insects) as you would do for any tropical experience. Even though they live in a very small village, there is plenty to do in the area in your free time and easy to get from A to B. Really enjoyed my stay and hope to be back one day!
