We really can’t say enough good things about Mareike. She is an absolutely lovely human being! We had a great experience with her. From the beginning she was fantastic caring and playing with our 5 year old daughter Emilia. Mareike was creative, fun and always positive, she integrated really well to the family dynamics and knew exactly how to help
… read more and make our lives easier; whether taking the dogs for walks, tidying up the kitchen, picking up Emilia from school or taking her for adventures to the beach, she even baked us the most delicious Christmas cookies!!!
We are really going to miss her ! 🩷

The last two months on Bowen Island have been absolutely wonderful and will always remain in my memory. Whether it was playing with and helping Emilia, taking the dogs for walks, or cooking and cleaning in the kitchen—the tasks were fun and easy and still left plenty of free time.
Emilia is a sweet and open-hearted little girl, and I loved
… read more spending time with her. I also really enjoyed the walks with the dogs. Even though the house was a bit farther from the village, there was always a way to get a ride or borrow the car, which allowed me to visit friends on the island or in Vancouver during my free time. But also the nature around is really beautiful, and I loved exploring it in my free time. From the beginning, I truly felt like part of the family, and we had many great experiences together. Whether it was Christmas, visiting family on Gabriola Island, skiing, ice skating or other trips in the city or on the island, I always had a great time with them.
Thank you for having me and giving me this amazing experience!

… read more deliveries, doing the dishes and most importantly caring for my daughter Emilia; building fairy houses, picking her up from school and taking her to the beach, birthday parties and even teaching her aerial dance!!
Her presence around the house felt like the one of an old friend who’s got your back, always smiling, open and ready for whatever that day might bring which was exactly what our family needed. I can’t recommend enough this beautiful human to any other hosts out there. 😌

… read more this family on this magical island and I'm getting emotional about leaving; I'll miss this place so much. Emilia is such a joy to be around she is smart and caring and very open to loving new people fiercely. She gives the best hugs!!! Ana is an incredible mother and has given the home a very peaceful and welcoming energy. She's always helping me do everything I want to experience like hiking, beach days, bungee jumping, going out dancing in the city, yoga classes, trying new restaurants, and exploring new places. They even took me to their family's island for a weekend trip! The tiny island of Bowen is so precious with trails literally everywhere. Walking to the beach is 10 min and a stunning walk. Lots of free time to explore and just have me-time. I also worked part time online while staying here and had zero issues with wifi or a space to work or even time restraints. The dogs are sweethearts too.
