Dan was a great host! I spent 12 days in this little corner of Ontario. He was very patient with my approximate English and helped me improve and gain confidence in expressing myself (luckily he knows a bit of French). The house is very pleasant, with a large garden, and the room has everything you need. Dan is a very kind person, with lots of stories to share, and he makes a wonderful duo with Berti.

This is my first journey by Workaway. The host Jayalakshmi madam was welcoming so soft by nature and inspirational. I was there for 6days. She cared me like her family member I felt like my home and food was so excellent. The accommodation was comfortable and clean. In the night time the surrounding were dark and so silent can heard only insects sound feels like living in forest. Mostly I worked with cattle’s there are 28 native Indian cows from five different breed's. Respected the way she caring cattle’s was great. I learned a lot about how organic farming helping us to live self sustainable. There are three workers they are so friendly and some times I work with helping them. This is the right place for beginners who want to learn organic farming. I was really happy for been there. Thank you so much for this opportunity

We had a lovely time with Brenda and Manuel. They were at ease and helpful at home from the very first day, but also very quiet. Manuel knows a lot about gardenning and handy work. I feel sad I only benefited once from Brenda's yoga class (due to my time constraints). They managed to interact nicely with kids despite language barreers. We had very interesting talks about the situation in Argentina, and much more ! We wish them all the best for their life project.

I spent 3 months at this beautiful ranch! I was warmly welcomed by Aaron and Annalena, who took over the ranch this year. During my stay, I learned many things, such as driving a tractor and truck, using boards for construction, fixing fences, and using tools such as a drill, circular saw, sander, or screwdriver to make shelves, signs, etc. Every time, they explained how to use them safely. In the house specifically, we all participated in household chores such as cleaning common areas or preparing the rooms for the guests. It can take time because it's a huge house, but can be fast when we're together. I also cooked a lot (because I love to do it), but generally we tried to take turns cooking and/or cooking together. But don't worry, going there doesn't mean that you will just work, you will also have the possibility to go to several lakes, swim in some of them, fish, chill around a bonfire, or see a rodeo. During my stay, I also went hiking and riding, which gives you the opportunity to see bears (brown and black) or hear them. I had opportunities to ride bareback, but most of the time you ride with a saddle after a long day, or if your task consists of bringing some hay with a packhorse to the cabin in the mountain. If you go there, you will also have the opportunity to socialize with Aaron's family, especially with his sister and her mom, to see the valley, and if you're lucky enough, you can even participate in a horse trip. I also improved my English there, so don't worry if you're not completely fluent. They will take time to re-explain if you don't understand what they've said and are very open when you have a question. Finally, I would say thank you to Aaron and Annalena for showing me how they live on their beautiful ranch and how life in Western Canada is managed! I have many wonderful memories of my time there.

Olga stayed with us for almost five weeks. It couldn't have been better! She helped out in many ways: lots of apple picking, nut collecting, hay making, tidying up in and around the house and workshops, cooking delivious vegan meals and so on. She is a sturdy worker, keen on learning and happy to help out anyway possible. She also is a skilled counsellor on how to start a project and supported us in that way as well! Her life experience is impressive, the talks were thougt provoking and enlightning in a way, but always with good humor and great humbleness. She is very reliable and clear in her communication, and reacted very flexible on our sometimes chaotic daily routine :-) We can reccomend her to anyone! We wish her all the best for all the adventures present and ahead, and look forward on meeting again soon. Cheers!

Lucas is a wonderful person to have around, his energy and initiative can motivate anyone. we loved having him helping out in the project but also doing outside activities together and hopefully making a connection that will last in time. when it comes to his work ethic, he was amazing to work with... always willing to help with the biggest smile!

Hidde bowled me over with his willingness to help! He left so many small and not so small adjustments to our tiny eco-home, I think of him with gratitude. He was everywhere, eyes open, curious, thoughtful, methodical and effective. As an elderly not used to such attention, we found ourselves ocasionally at odds. And that's okay. Hidde likes to talk and does so fast. I'm less of a conversationalist until the topics go deep. I know this can also be trying for some. It was a joy to see Hidde and our son, Carlo, work together to prepare an outdoor kitchen for our Sundance support camp. As long as possible, we are enjoying the new shelves, the stable gas oven and attached workspace. We enjoyed Hidde for some weeks and he integrated well into our spiritual community, participating in all Sweat Lodges as if he had always been there. I highly recommend Hidde for your home, project or community. He's a cool guy!

Michaela stayed with us for about four weeks on our farm, and we couldn’t be happier with the experience! She is extremely hardworking, skilled with tools, and very knowledgeable in carpentry. During her stay, she helped us build the drainage system for our barn—even working outside in the rain to make sure the project was completed thoroughly and properly. Beyond her building skills, Michaela also supported us with cooking for the whole household, cleaning, and taking initiative wherever she saw something that needed to be done. She is easygoing, self-motivated, and brings wonderful energy with her. We truly recommend Michaela to any other hosts. We miss her a lot and sincerely hope she will come back to visit us soon!

This was truly an incredible exchange. Especially for my first Workawayer! Nana and Jay are beautiful people with an incredible mission. I loved being at the school, exchanging and implementing ideas, interacting with the children and staff, learning about Jamaican, Caribbean and Ghanaian culture, and also being in the quiet neighbourhood of Pokuase. The food cooked by Marshall was delicious, nourishing and always delivered with a friendly smile. Ajingo happily offers to teach about the Ghanaian culture and accompany you to explore. The accomodation was homey and everyone else staying there tended to be very kind and open to good conversation. So, although I'm travelling solo, I never felt alone. I would recommend this Workaway to anyone who would like to be in Ghana. Thank you again, Jay, Nana and the rest of the Pokuase family. I wish you all the best, and I hope to be back soon :)

I felt very welcomed from the moment I arrived at Ishwar's home. Tejal and Hari made me even even more comfortable, with Tejal's delicious and diverse meals, and Hari's fun and creative games. We were about even at Badminton, but he always beat me in Ninja lol. What Ishwar is doing to help uplift his community is inspiring. Farming to help feed others, creating a school to help the younger children have an education, among various other projects. The work was not always easy, the accommodation was modest, and it was very rewarding to help where I could. I can't thank them enough for a chance to live life in their beautiful village. I wish them the best, and hope any Workawayer gets to experience life with the humblest means and the highest intentions.

I have spent 3 weeks at this no profit school, teaching English, 4 hours a day, Monday to friday, to kids aged between 12 and 15. The experience was very enjoyable. The volounteer is given a private bedroom on the second floor of the school, with a private bathroom and an AC. You will live, work, sleep and eat at the school, togheter with the other teachers and assistant teachers that live in the building. They will very quickly become your friends, as everybody is very friendly, kind, welcoming and they love laughing. I would recommend anybody to volunteer at this school. It's a no profit, running on very little money, and doing an astonishing work in educating children from disadvantaged backgrounds, for free. Your help will be greatly appreciated by everyone at the school. Thanks to Sokhan, Vannthoun, Sreymom, Tina, Johnny and all the other beautiful people that I have met at this school and that I now can call good friends. Until next time , I wish you all the very best.
