I highly recommend this young man! He is sweet, fun and very intelligent. He fit right into my family, and I'm guessing he's the kind of person to fit in in most places he goes. Janek has mainly been helping me build a concrete compost bin, but also weeding and fertilizing the vegetable garden, picking hazelnuts and peas, taking care of ducks and cooking. I learned some nice recipes from him too!

Kim is a dynamo - she got so much done while she was on the farm in the short time she was here that we reckon she will leave a legacy for decades! She is plucky and full of energy, and nothing can stop her! We highly recommend her if you're considering hosting her - get ready to get things done! Thanks for sharing your bright smiles and positive energy on the farm Kim! We hope you have wonderful adventures on your journeys ahead!

Samuel was here (not Victoria), for a few weeks. He helped me a lot in the garden, picking berries, make jam and lay paving stones with me and my son. Thank you for this!

It was so nice to have a guest whom had interest interests in the local wildlife. Prepared with bird book and all. So exploring the area combined with school holidays was fantastic. Emma and Pepijn worked thoroughly and hard whilst they were here. They also entertained the children often also. They both loved them. As well as Kevin, so that was great start. We will miss them and being able to ‘nature nerd’ together. we had a lot of fun.

Noah was with us for over 3 months. During this time he performed a variety of tasks and duties. Noah managed and cleaned our Air bnbs to a high standard and was very welcoming and helpful to the guests. He took excellent care of our dog when we were away. Noah helped in a variety of building projects including paving, concreting a driveway and landscaping. He is a great communicator who prefers to work on his own. Thank you Noah for all you have done for us.

Shannon is a lovely guy, he has many stories and can tell you everything about a lot of movies. Unfortunately I couldn't help him with his movie about the neighborhood rockband, but I could help out in the garden and did some reorganizing in the house. His place is amazing! You have a bedroom and bathroom to yourself. There is a lot to do in Cotacachi if you like exploring and walking to many places. The busses are frequent enough so you can easely visit the lake or Otavalo. Shannon knows many people and you can meet his friends at the German backery Subs. I highly recommend staying at Shannon's place! The only thing you have to look out for is the dogs of the neighbors, buy they might be gone soon.

Firstly I want to say that this was probably one of the most fulfilling Workaway experiences ever. Julie and Latch are some of the kindest, laid back and gracious hosts I've ever had the pleasure of staying. I originally was to stay for two weeks and dog-sit they're beautiful labradoodle dog named Wally. he is so kind and so gentle a dog. If you have the chance to dog sit jump at the opportunity you'll fall in love him as much as I've done. As far as the real-work is concerned... just an hour and a half a day usually working alongside Latch. I learned a lot about pouring concrete, paver stones, tree cutting and general maintenance. The work at times was laborious but always enjoyable and satisfying. I also helped out with general maintenance of the three exquisite Airbnb accommodations that this wonderful family runs. I was able to initiate my concierge skills and problem solving experience. the accommodations included a wonderful converted camper trailer with an outdoor shower (hot water in the middle of the rainforest) and camping stove top. I found the accommodations very peaceful and they allowed me the time for introspection and further learning. In summary what was supposed to be just a two-week workaway dog sitting turned out to be an almost four month life changing, growth enhancing and overall fantastic experience. if you have a chance to be hosted by this most wonderful couple then I highly suggest you do so.

Thank you so much for your kind words and thoughtful feedback. I truly enjoyed my time with you and appreciated the opportunity to learn, grow, and be part of your home. Your support and encouragement meant a lot to me, especially as I worked on improving my English and adapting to a new culture. I’m also really glad I could help with the animals—they brought me so much joy! I’m grateful for the experience and for everything you shared with me.

I stayed with Kerry for about 2.5 weeks and it was such a wonderful experience! She is incredibly kind and her family is also very welcoming and friendly. The food was always amazing and I really enjoyed the farm work - milking the cows and collecting the eggs was a lot of fun. The work itself was well balanced: you had some tasks to do, but still plenty of free time to explore and relax. The Goldstream Provincial Park and the beach nearby are absolutely beautiful. I also really appreciated, that the workawayer had their own space in the trailer, which made the stay even more comfortable. Thank you so much, Kerry, for this lovely time - I can only recommend staying with you!

I had the pleasure of being part of this incredible family for nearly six months. Igor and Joseph made me feel very welcome in Las Vegas and also in their home. The kids are adorable. Jeffrey and Jojo are funny, communicative, and clever. They became my friends, and we spent our free time visiting the nearby park and library. I also had the opportunity to meet very nice people, like Mrs. Pauline, the family's relatives and friends, and to experience traditional American celebrations such as Halloween and Thanksgiving. I really enjoyed the experience and returned home with many fond memories. I'll definitely be back as soon as possible.

Hello everyone, I want to leave a message for future workawayers and also to give thanks. Here, time flows differently than in most places. Every corner of the temple carries a small story that you can easily feel. The wind, the sound of the trees, the bamboo, the children at school, the birds—everything feels very magical and reminds you that in this place people have cared and given so much love. Thank you, Rensan, for the food, the conversations, and for making me feel part of the family. You have a wonderful heart and excellent musical taste. Great album, the one by Janis Joplin. Thank you Shinku, for the company, for the respect, and for letting me be part of your home. I have learned more than I ever could have imagined with you. Thanks to everyone for welcoming me as one of your own and for allowing me to live another great experience. I hope that one day i sweep the leaves again, listen to the animals and the temple bells, enjoy another meal, and feel so present that everything else fades away. Arigato! Gracias! Thank you! — Andrés Moreno

It truly was an amazing experience staying at this place. I loved the people I met and it felt like a family. I was absolutely horrible at cleaning when I first got there and by the end of it I was a pro. Ifigenia was super patient with me and also hilarious to be around. I can not wait to go back.

Lenny supported our small school’s activities during the summer holidays. Polite and humble, he was always kind to both the children and the staff, never without a smile. His presence brought warmth and reassurance to everyone and was a tremendous strength for us. We truly feel fortunate to have had someone like him as our supporter. He is also endlessly curious – whether discussing world affairs, fascinating philosophical ideas or gourmet food – and we enjoyed many lively and enriching conversations with him. Arigato Lenny!

I spent a month in this green oasis! The volunteer house was comfortable and beautifully designed - kitchen, washrooms, bedrooms are rugged and very much outdoors, all covered in pretty murals and plants. The work was diverse and clearly organized between 8am-1pm. I spent my time feeding chickens, cleaning coops, weeding, landscaping, mixing soil, chipping palm fronds, planting fruit trees, transplanting seedlings, and other varied farm tasks. On rainy days, we worked on mosaic tiles and spent several afternoons sorting through and cleaning out a garage area. Though there are not many vegetables or fruit-bearing trees, the farm is wonderfully lush and full of animals, from birds and monkeys to squirrels and frogs. I met the owners but a handful of times and instead engaged with the farm through the lovely Gabriel. Speaking with him and getting to know his indigenous ties to the land were the highlight of my time at the finca. The location is a bit tricky in terms of accessibility (the nearest grocery store is a 10 minute taxi ride away) but it was nice to be away from the centre of town. If you're looking for a quiet return to nature, then I would absolutely recommend joining the farm!

Mitch was a delight to have on property for two and a half weeks. He built much needed bamboo railings for slippery steps, helped cut the bamboo - big project! - assisted with the care of the chickens, AND entertained us with his MAGIC! Such a pleasant person and quite adept with the sleight of hand! Where'd that go??? So fun. Thank you Mitch! We hope to see you again one day. Wishing you well in your travels.

Such a lovely and sweet young lady. However, that does not mean that she didn't kick it in when called upon! Luka kept up "with the guys" on a bamboo removal project that tested everyone's skills. Never a complaint, always a smile. She also held a beautiful yoga class and was very helpful in anything asked of her. Anyone would be lucky for her to pass their way. Thank you Luka!

Me and Emma had a wonderful 12 day stay with Stacey and her family. This was our first time ever using workaway and she shared a lot of experiences with us about her life, Australia and the workawayers she's had. The food was abundant and generally pretty delicious and the work (usually between 3-4 hours a day) was easy and not scheduled too tightly. After the work, Stacey often took us and the kids on trips to show and teach us about the area and the beautiful nature surrounding her home. If you love nature and/or birds, this host is a big recommendation! The only thing to be mindful of, is the kids. They are both VERY loud, and it can get quite intense sometimes. If you prefer quietness, it is something to keep in mind. At the same time, they're also really funny and smart, so it didn't affect our stay too much. Also Kevin the dog is great and cuddly and we will definitely miss him Overall a great experience, would recommend!
