We stayed at Kerry's farm for 1 month. It was a great experience overall, although difficult in the first week or so. Kerry had a bad luck and we had to work a bit harder than expected but we managed to push through together and make things better! It was pretty nice overall, I stayed one month at Kerry’s house, super nice family, Logan the best kid in the world! we arrive at a complicated timing, the two first weeks were intense, but afterwards, I had a great time and the two last weeks were almost perfect, Kerry is a nice woman easy to talk to with a great sense of humour ! Nis was a delight to host! This kind, hard working, funny and sweet man stayed with our family and enriched our lives. He tackled projects independently and worked well in a group. He's self motivated and determined. My animals and the property were blessed to have him. I had a very sick cow here, and Nis was a person I could count on to help me @

Nis cooks delicious meals and loves to share his culture. I loved our games night with our group, so much laughter and good times!

I stayed at Kerry's for 4 weeks and had a great time there. You feel directly welcome in Kerry's family and as a part of it. Kerry is a very open and warm person with whom you like to spend time and can talk very well. The farm is a great place to learn about farm life and many different things like milking cows, gardening, feeding animals, making cheese and just spending a lot of time in nature.
Metchosin is a small place that is very idyllic. The neighbors are also super nice and show you a lot. There is also a nice restaurant there, the beach is not far away and you can visit a lavender farm nearby. It is not far to Victoria, Sooke, to different hikes or lakes. Helena was a bubbly, fun, injection of life into our group here. It was hard to say goodbye! Her strong, confident, can- do attitude fit right in with all of us here. Some highlights of her visit were the garlic harvest, thinning strawberry plants, a homemade Pho dinner, and a lovely charcuterie plate for the munchies one night! 😋

I have just finished up two weeks at the farm. It was a very fun and diverse two weeks; from learning how to milk a cow to fishing out on the ocean! I stayed at Kerry's for almost 3 months. I quickly became a family member and her family welcomed me warmly. Over the past weeks I learned a lot about farming and I am most proud of me that I now know how to milk a cow by machine and hand. Cherry the cow and I are close friends now. She also helped me a lot buying and at the end selling my car and I really appreciate that.

I was able to leave the farm in her capable hands and go on a camping trip with my children for the first time in 4 years. I trusted her completely and everything was handled as if I was home. The place metchosin is very cute and perfectly located! The city of Victoria is around the corner and nature is right in the area! I was able to do nice hikes & also to use the car from time to time.

Ronja was a joy to host. She loves to work, to organize, to explore, and improve your quality of life. Despite heavy rain and not the best weather- we started projects and finished them. While she was here, Ronja assisted me with building a huge chicken run to keep my birds safe, getting hay, improving the garden area, transporting plants,
… read more cleaning and organizing, pruning fruit trees, burning old wood/tree trimmings, socializing my feral cats, moving and dismantling a fridge that died, powerwashing and clearing the back deck, and spending time with our sweet dog. All our animals miss her! Ronja improved the quality of our animals' lives - from small to large tasks. She is a cheerful and fun person to be around. In her (way too short) time here, she fit in well with our family and even spent some time supervising Crystal while I was out. Ronja is an asset to any host. Count yourself blessed if she contacts you!

The animals have been very kind with us and we loved to see them happy after every feeding, touching and moving. Once you get into the working schedule, it's easy to get up and make the animals happy. Step by step you will become faster doing the milking and feeding and you improve yourself handling the animals. While Kerry was working, we had time for ourselves, watching TV, exploring the beautiful area around the property and sometimes also preparing dinner, to make the evening a bit more relaxing. We also had the chance to join Kerrys family to the swimming pool, to the city and to other freetime acitivities.
