Not a good experience. Good things first: He can play guitar very well and teach how to play it. He also made pasta with a delicious pistachio pesto for us. Bad part of the experience: he was coming late for agreed meetings and working hours, because of his business in Prague and some issues with the train. Several times he came even one hour late, but only let us know a few minutes before the scheduled time - without a word of appology. And when he did finally work, it was even too early (in the morning) or too hot (in the afternoon), so he looked very tired and even annoyed by the work - mostly gardening. It was very unpleasant.

I was here for a week (sadly didn't had more time) and had a great time. Dan is an exzeptionell host who teached me a lot about Chippewas nation and the indigenous culture. It is a really unique opportunity to learn more about the culture and the stories of the people. The Jobs were also pretty diverse. I did things like painting, tearing down walls, helping distribute free dog and cat food to the community and replacing a stove. I highly recommend to give it a try. Thanks everyone. Hopefully see you another time. :)

I spent three weeks in late summer with Louise and her family and had a truly lovely time. They welcomed me warmly into their home and made it very easy for me to feel comfortable. Louise had prepared a list of different tasks, from which I could choose freely. I really enjoyed picking lots of figs and making compote. I also shared many fun moments with Alba and Billie – both of them are very open-minded and friendly children. Overall, I thoroughly enjoyed the cultural exchange and learned a lot during my stay. Our dinners were always accompanied by engaging conversations. Theo showed me his analog cameras and his collection of negatives, which I found fascinating. I also spent a day in Bordeaux with Louise, where she showed me around the city centre. I really appreciated sharing stories from our lives and getting to know each other better. I had plenty of time to explore the surrounding area by bike, which was wonderful. The region offers beautiful landscapes, countless vineyards, historic châteaux, and charming rustic villages. I also took the train to Bordeaux and other cities several times, and Louise and Theo were always kind enough to give me a lift to the station. I would definitely recommend staying with this lovely family and would love to come back someday!

Thank you so much for hosting me! Despite the huge hornets (which were quite an adventure 😅 but we managed), my stay was amazing. The work was enjoyable and rewarding, the food was truly as good as promised – absolutely delicious! You’re such a kind and funny person, always full of good energy. I had so much fun on all the little trips around the area and during our conversations we had great connection. You showed me around the area and community and I really appreciated that. You’re well-traveled and easy to talk to – it felt very natural and welcoming from the start. I definitely recommend this experience to other Workawayers – you’ll be in great hands!

We spent just 5 days with Tugsah, we enjoyed our stay, he's really a nice and kind person with a big heart. His philosophy and his point of view about things is very altruistic. The flat was clean and tidy, the work was easy and flexible. Thank you very much Tugsah for this opportunity, we would like to come back in the future <3

We spent three wonderful weeks with Monica and we were very happy with our first Workaway experience in Norway. Monica is an excellent cook, we got to try many delicious traditional Norwegian dishes. She gave us a wide variety of tasks, which really helped us improve our DIY and handyman skills. Her house is perfectly located near the fjord, and we had an amazing view from our room. During meals, we had many interesting conversations on all kinds of topics, Monica has so much knowledge and so many fascinating stories to share. We definitely recommend spending some time with Monica 😊 A big thank you Monica for the warm welcome and for the trust, it was a great experience !!

Lilly volunteered with us for a month and made a huge contribution to not just the school but also the care home and with the medical team in the rural areas. She planned and delivered English communication lessons for the children and also demonstrated different teaching and learning styles for the teachers as part of their own development. Made teaching and learning interesting especially when teaching grammar and punctuation. She assisted the doctors in the rural villages with scripts and medications and also made a huge contribution in the care home by planning and delivering mobility classes. She fully took part and contributed in all after school activities and programmes with the hostel children as well as all the festivals and cultural programmes in the campus e.g., Garba, Ganesh Chaturthi, daily temple prayers, worship and practice. Lilly will be immensely missed by the children, teacher, medical team and all the campus staff and we hope she returns again to see the progress of the children and the place.

I had the absolute pleasure of staying with Stacy, and honestly, she’s such an amazing host! From the very first day, she made me feel completely welcome and part of the family. We even got to travel to Nairobi together, which was such a fun and memorable trip. Stacy showed me so much — not just around the city, but I also learned a lot about Kenya in general. She’s warm, funny, and full of energy, and spending time with her was always a joy. The girls at the facility were all so lovely, kind, and full of life. I really enjoyed being around them, sharing meals, chatting, and just spending everyday moments together. It always felt like a home full of laughter and good vibes. Overall, I had such a wonderful time and I’m so grateful for everything Stacy and the girls shared with me. This experience will definitely stay with me for a long time. Thank you again for everything, Stacy — you’re such an inspiration, and I already miss you and everyone there! ❤️

Helen and Gabriels farm was my first Workaway experience ever and I am so glad that I chose their place. I stayed for 3 weeks and the minute I arrived I felt very welcomed. Lays (the cat) had to approve of me, but luckily the odds were in my favor and we got along very well. I had so many lovely conversations with them- they are really knowledgeable, interesting and funny, which I consider a rare combination, but the best foundation for great talks. I also ate really delicious fresh food and learned more about farming, especially the vegetables- what more could you ask for?! Besides enjoying some great company, you arrive to a beautiful landscape with so many places to explore (the lake is by far my favorite). Though there is always something to do, if you really happen to get bored Helen will always be thankful for some Jam-testers (I recommend ;)). It was a really great experience and I am so thankful of all the warm memories that I get to take home with me. I will definitely be coming back to their place!

Thank you Mario for having me in your house, garden and life. I came to Stromboli many times and this time I am greatful to have made a new experience by understanding better the local life, issues in island life and ideas how to live better and healthy with a garden. I enjoy that a lot and learned a lot, I helped mario in the garden, clearing the summer beds and planing winter veggies, clearing the grass and bushes and learning how to prepare the soil. mario is a good teacher and has huge knowledge. he is also very well traveled and experienced with international people which was great for me as my Italian is very bad. I appreciate much his effort and patience. on top of everything mario didn't hesitate to cook great meals for us every day, provided me with a room and everything needed. I will be so happy if I can return to this great workaway some day. mario I wish you all the best, stay in touch🌋🙏🍉🐈‍⬛

My time here was truly unforgettable. Even though my English isn’t perfect, everyone was so kind, patient, and understanding with me. They always made sure I felt comfortable and included, which meant a lot. What I loved most about this experience was how much freedom I had to try different things and explore what I really wanted to do. Every day was full of new experiences — learning, helping, sharing meals, and spending time together. I always felt supported and encouraged to be myself. The people here have such warm hearts and genuine kindness. I’m really grateful for all the moments we shared and everything I learned along the way. It was not just volunteering — it was a beautiful exchange of cultures, ideas, and friendship. Thank you so much for giving me this opportunity and for treating me like family. I’ll never forget this experience!

Amazing place to volunteer and live. Raul is an amazing host and gets you everything you need for the apartment. All the other teachers are so welcoming and friendly, and love to talk to you. Palin is a nice town with great food and culture, and it is fairly easy to get to everywhere you want to go, especially when you have from Sunday afternoon to Wednesday morning off. The kids are a lot of fun and they will give the love if you let them.

I really enjoyed my time with Nasser, his family, and everyone I met through this experience. From the very beginning, they made me feel welcome and comfortable. I had the chance to experience many different things, learn about the local culture, and share wonderful moments with kind and generous people. It was a great introduction to Egypt and an unforgettable experience for me. I truly appreciate Nasser’s kindness, hospitality, and his effort to make sure I had a meaningful stay. He is hardworking, open-minded, and always ready to help. I feel very lucky to have met him and his family. I already miss them and hope to see them again someday. Thank you so much, Nasser!

My stay at the ranch was amazing ! Lea and Bud are very welcoming people that make you feel at home. There is always something to do and all the help you bring is appreciated and rewarded. I learned about natural horsemanship and horses in general with Lea and the girls. I was also able to learn about fencing with Karl, Lea's son. Bud can teach you some card games to keep you occupied during your free time ! I arrived at that place surrounded by strangers and I left it with friends and family from all over the world. I'm excited to start my second stay here to discover the ranch life during the Canadian winter !

I've stayed with the family for a month in the summer. During this time, we visited several locations and moved around quite a lot. It was inspiring, as I got to see many interesting places and beautiful landscapes. We spent most of our time in Stockaryd, a little town immersed in nature and surrounded by forests and lakes. I think that during this period I saw more lakes than in my entire life—I even lost count (: We also spent some time in Vimmerby and Mariannelund. From the very first moment I arrived, they treated me as if I were a member of the family and made me feel at home, even though I was far from my own place. Maria and Wally are hard-working people, but they also know how to have fun and bring out the best in you in every moment. The children are very smart and curious, and it’s up to you to find fun ways to connect with them. They are hilarious, so it’s guaranteed you’ll share many humorous moments, when it’s hard to stop laughing. As for the working time, sometimes it was challenging, but I think it really teaches you a different way of seeing life—not necessarily slower, but definitely more balanced. It shows you how to bring together body and mind. It’s really about finding the smartest, most efficient way to do things, even in manual tasks. I also had plenty of time to explore the country, as there are many beautiful places to discover and nearby cities that are easy to visit by train. Overall, it was a fantastic experience. I strongly suggest not letting this opportunity pass you by, as whatever you are capable of will be well accepted and appreciated. You won’t regret it!
