Welcome to Our Family Country House in Beautiful La Garrotxa
We are a warm, nature-loving family of five living in a recently refurbished country house near Olot, nestled in one of the most beautiful regions of Catalonia: La Garrotxa. Surrounded by volcanic landscapes, forested hills, and tranquil silence, our home is a peaceful sanctuary away from the city hustle.
👨👩👧👦 About Us
Our family includes three children aged 14, 11, and 9. We follow homeschooling, offering a nurturing and creative environment. We're also accompanied by our extended animal family: two dogs, one cat, and three horses—and we plan to welcome chickens soon!
We live a natural lifestyle, growing our own vegetables and preparing home-cooked meals.
🕰️ Our Daily Rhythm
Weekdays start early around 6:30 am, with breakfast at 7:00 am.
We feed the horses, tidy up the house, and begin homeschooling by 8:00 am.
Lunch is at 1:00 pm, followed by some rest time.
Afternoons are dedicated to study and music practice—piano, cello, and clarinet.
We have dinner at 7:00 pm, keeping a peaceful and steady routine.
👩🌾 Who Does What?
Dad works from home as an HR consultant and is also involved in gardening, wood collection, and maintaining the surrounding land.
Mom is fully dedicated to caring for the children, homeschooling, cooking, and managing the household.
🌻 Help We Need
We're looking for a Workawayer who enjoys nature, simplicity, and family life to help us 5 days a week for about 5 hours per day.
Your main tasks would include:
Working in the vegetable garden
Collecting wood in the forest.
Helping feed and care for the horses.
General outdoor and house maintenance.
During weekends, you’ll usually work alongside the husband in the veg garden, wood and forest duties.
Your two days off will be during the week. We also appreciate your contribution to light house chores, participating as a true member of the family.

During your stay, you’ll have the opportunity to learn and taste traditional meals from Catalonia and Spain, many prepared with fresh ingredients from our own garden. You'll also gain hands-on experience in growing vegetables, caring for horses, and joining us on short mountain hikes through the stunning landscapes that surround our home.
Above all, you'll enjoy a quiet lifestyle immersed in peace, nature, and family values—a perfect place to reconnect with yourself and the rhythms of rural life.

We’re looking for a nature-loving, open-hearted Workawayer who enjoys rural life and values cultural exchange. Your support would be greatly appreciated in the following areas:
Gardening and maintaining our vegetable garden
General house maintenance
Autumm and winter season, cutting trees and collecting wood from our forest
Helping feed and care for our horses
Spending time with our children to encourage casual conversation in English and/or German
In return, we offer a peaceful, family-oriented environment, healthy home-cooked meals, language exchange in Catalan and Spanish, and the experience of living close to nature in one of Catalonia’s most beautiful areas.

🌍 Language Exchange As part of the experience, we'd love for our children to become more familiar with English and German, both through listening and practicing in a natural, everyday setting with the Workawayer. In return, we're happy to share our knowledge of Catalan and Spanish, which are our native languages. This creates a beautiful opportunity for mutual language learning—whether through casual conversations, shared activities, or reading and playing together with the kids.
Acomodação
Workawayers will have their own spacious private room in the same home where our family lives. We share all meals together, and we value these moments as a time to connect. After each meal, we all join in—including the kids—to help with cleaning and tidying up. Each morning, before beginning our homeschooling activities, we dedicate about 30 minutes to house chores as a family. This shared responsibility helps create a balanced and supportive rhythm in our home.

We are located just 15 minutes by car from the bus station in Olot, which connects you to:
The beach (approx. 1 hour)
Barcelona (approx. 1.5 hours)
The Pyrenees mountains (approx. 1 hour)
We’re happy to offer rides to the Olot station when needed, so you can explore beautiful nearby spots such as Camprodon, Ripoll, Vallter, Setcases, and many others.
On weekends, we usually spend time walking in nature, doing seasonal work in the garden or harvesting, general maintenance, and caring for the horses. You’re always welcome to join in—or to enjoy some quiet time in the countryside, read a book, go for a hike, or explore the region.

💻 Remote Work & Personal Projects The husband works mainly from home and often has video conferences with clients and colleagues from different locations. That said, outside of working hours. We’re happy to support Workawayers who are remotely working, studying, or developing personal initiatives, as long as it fits within the rhythm of family life.
Espaço para estacionar campervans
Our country house is surrounded by more than 6 hectares of land, offering plenty of space to park a campervan or motorhome. We can also provide access to electricity and a way to refill water tanks from our well. It’s a peaceful and spacious setup, ideal for travelers who prefer to stay in their own vehicle while still being part of our family life.
