It was such a blessing being able to stay and be a helping hand on Sharyn and David's property. They are both such lovely people - warm, easygoing, funny and excellent communicators. I had the opportunity to assist David in build bird cages which provided challenge yet also fun. I am convinced David could build anything. I thoroughly enjoyed the evening meals and chats about life. It was an added bonus being able to get to know your children and grandchildren! The kids always brought a smile to my face & made me feel so at home. Thank you for providing me with such an enriching and restful week!

Merveilleuse expérience chez Marie-Josée et ses beaux animaux: C'était un plaisir les nourrir, il ne semblait pas un travail, plutôt famille! On fait ce qu’il faut, une heure et demie le matin et une heure et demi le soir: 25 chevaux (Emilio notre préféré, un pony vieux et têtu), 45 poules, 3 ânes, 2 chèvres naines ( les moins amicales de la compagnie), 2 perroquets auquel on a essayé d’enseigner la musique du film Titanic, chiens et chats ( Linci a été un vrai amie) et enfin un lapin. L'endroit est très agréable, pratique pour se débrouiller sur la plage et si vous êtes équipé de votre propre véhicule est une porte d’accès aux plus belles côtes de Corse. La chambre et la cuisine sont confortables mais à garder en ordre. Marie Josée est une super host, très gentille et émettant une grande et resplendissante énergie. Une expérience qui nous a donné beaucoup de joie et que nous sommes prêts à recommander. Merci!

Staying with Rei was one of the best trips ever! You get to experience a bit of everything: cooking, glass making, learning about Japanese culture, gardening, talking to the locals, taking care of the cutest dog ever... Honestly our best host, super friendly and helpful. He was always very fair with the working hours and we got to do many activities together while in Sasayama. It truly felt like living in a small Ghibli town surrounded by green rice fields and mountains. Would love to come back some day 💜 thanks for everything Rei :) Att: your fav travellers ever

Anna was awesome! She took such great care of my five dogs — walked them loads, kept them happy, and handled everything easily. The house was always super tidy, and she’s really easy and nice to have around. She’s smart, kind, and fun to talk to — we had some really nice conversations. I’d recommend her 100% to any host — your pets (and you!) will be very lucky to have her.

Our stay with Mish and Nige was such a valuable and memorable experience. From the very beginning, they welcomed Valentin and me with open arms and made us feel part of their home. During our time there, we helped with weeding, trimming, planting and trail building, as well as carrying traps with Nige to a beautiful waterfall. We also worked in the nursery. The variety of tasks made every day interesting and rewarding. Mish and Nige are incredibly kind, patient and knowledgeable. They took the time to explain everything about their conservation project and how it contributes to restoring native biodiversity in the area. I learned so much about the environment and truly admire their dedication and the positive impact of their work. Their place is absolutely stunning, surrounded by nature and beautiful views: a perfect place to reconnect and learn. We also shared wonderful meals (the food was absolutely delicious and I’ll definitely miss it!), lovely conversations and many laughs. I’m really grateful to have met such inspiring people and to have contributed, even a little, to their amazing project. Thank you again for your generosity, hospitality and for all that you do for the environment. 🌱 Highly recommended to anyone who wants to learn, share and make a difference!

A huge thank you to Zaki, Yati, Sophia and Ian for their incredibly warm welcome! We were truly touched by their kindness, and their willingness to share the beautiful Malaysian culture with us. They invited us to discover their delicious home cooking and we shared a lot of delicious meals ! Roti canai every morning is now our go-to 😇 We helped doing the dishes, preparing food, cleaning the garden and burning leaves , we did wood benches and played with Sophia ! Thank you !

I absolutely loved with my stay with Alex and Shelby! Alex was extremely welcoming and took me to tennis with his friends, salsa classes, the beach and etc. Shelby is the sweetest dog, and I’ll really miss her! Full of energy in the best way, well behaved and a joy to take for either a walk or a run. Overall I couldn’t recommend staying with Alex and Shelby more!

I'm truly thrilled with my experience! I immediately felt welcomed and at home; my needs and comfort were always a fundamental part of my stay. Communication was clear and sincere, and I felt carefully listened to, without any misunderstandings. The tasks were decided together, and my personal contribution was always considered. Our 3 week workaway with Pat and Heidi this September was was fun, varied, and very rewarding. We got to help with all sorts of projects, from checking the sheep and maintaining the landscape to gardening, harvesting, and some conservation and building work like chiseling out hard clay and pouring concrete. We really enjoyed the structured daily rhythm and the balance between sometimes challenging tasks and the open, friendly atmosphere. My partner Jacob and were lucky to stay one week with Ian & Maren. It was an incredible experience. They were friendly, easygoing and caring. They live in a beautiful house with a beach that i never saw anybody else on! The beach was so beautiful and we felt at peace every day. We had a stocked fridge to make breakfast and lunch and when we ran out of food, Maren got us new things. Maren cooked delicious meals every night and we ate them together on their lovely balcony. They made sure the work was fair and were very relaxed about our chores. For example we did some weeding, raked old leaves, unrooted cactusses and cleaned windows. The work was fun and the stunning views of the ocean were spectacular. We want to thank you Ian and Maren, we won't forget you and neither will we forget the beautiful landscapes surrounding you. Ana and Pablo were amazing workawayers! I would give them double stars if possible. Both did wonderful work in the garden with weeding, grass cutting, repair work, cutting trees with the chain saw and heavy clearing in our garden at home. Both worked really hard and at the end left the house spic and span. Both are very friendly and fun to be with, it was a great pleasure to host them here!

My boyfriend and I stayed for 3 weeks at Vibeke's. We had an amazing time! Vibeke is a very welcoming and open host, that shares her knowledge, culture and laughter with her guests. We had a wonderful time at her little farm, mostly harvesting (carrots, onions, potatoes), weeding and cutting, and taking care of the chickens. As the work on a farm is quite dynamic you don't really have set days off, but we could freely choose when to work & how to use the set hours, outside of planned occasions like the potatoe harvest or gathering the sheep from the mountains. Additionally, we were fortunate enough to meet a couple of Vibeke's friends and go hiking with them which was wonderful. Vibeke is really knowledgeable about the area that surrounds the farm and recommended hikes to us, even lending us gear when we didn't have something. If we wanted to we could even take her very sweet dogs with us on hikes :) Overall this was a wonderful stay with Vibeke's family and we encourage anyone who's interested in staying with her to do so :)

I had the chance to spend a month at Lori’s beautiful countryside home, and it was such a gentle, enriching experience full of kindness and meaningful connections. From the moment I arrived, Lori welcomed me with so much warmth and genuine care the kind of welcome that makes you instantly feel comfortable and at home. Lori is such a thoughtful, positive and compassionate person. She creates a peaceful and friendly atmosphere where everyone feels respected and included. Every moment shared with her was simple yet meaningful whether it was chatting, cooking together, or just enjoying the calm of the place. I really appreciated the mix of help, relaxation and human connection throughout my stay. I was also lucky to share this experience with Nikita, another lovely workawayer with whom I got along so well. We shared a lot of laughter, good talks and an easy, natural bond. She’s a wonderful, positive person who made this month even more special. And of course, let’s not forget Alexa, who never really listened to us but always made us laugh anyway she definitely had her own personality ! 😄 This month with Lori and Nikita will stay in my heart for a long time. I’m leaving full of gratitude and sweet memories. Thank you so much Lori for your generosity, kindness and friendship and thank you Nikita for your beautiful energy. I truly hope our paths cross again someday 🌸

I stayed at Patricia’s place for about 10 days and had a great time with her five dogs — I really miss them! The dogs are well-behaved, love cuddles, and are incredibly sweet. I could always reach out to Patricia, and she gave me lots of helpful tips for my trip to Sweden, as well as plenty of warm clothes (which I really needed! 😊). I would definitely recommend staying at her place.

Isobel!!!! Thank you soooo much for everything. We are so grateful we got to know Isobel. She originally wanted to come for two weeks but I think she ended up staying four weeks and even then it was hard to see her go. She quickly became like a member of our family. Isobel engaged with the kids so well from the first moment she was there. She always found a way to validate them, appreciate them and if necessary redirect their very creative ideas. I think it must have been a challenge cause the kids felt so comfortable with Isobel so they acted with like with us parents. Everybody with kids probably knows what I mean. In the month that Isobel was there she grew to be a part of our family and really engaged in our daily life. For sure it wasn't just a workaway with 5 hours work a day she became like an aunt to the kids and a sister to us. She engaged in all the chores and activities of everyday life and was happy to relax with us parents after the kids were in bed. Already in the first week we trusted isobel alone with the kids. She was always really responsible and caring. I think I could go on and on with complimenting... Please come back and stay forever!!! We love you 😍

I spent a nice 2 weeks at Tihana's farm. Every morning strarted with a lovely walk with her mum, then there was a few hours of work followed up by a home cooked lunch. This is a rural farm so expect noise, hard work and basic living condition. In return you'll get to experience simple life, lots of cuddles from the dogs and a chance to learn about organic farming (Tihana is very knowledgable!!) and traditional cooking. Thanks for everything Tihana and Maria!

Nous avons beaucoup apprécié Célène, sa gentillesse, son calme ,sa disponibilité, son humour. Aucun problème avec le cheval que nous lui avons confié. Célène est capable de s'adapter à toutes les situations. Dans la bonne humeur !

Justus' project is a truly ambitious and very courageous undertaking, a work in progress that is constantly changing. As soon as we arrived in Bromskirchen, we went up the hill with Justus and picked lots of cherries, which we used to make delicious jam. Justus is a man full of talent and knowledge to share. We chatted with him a lot and spent a lot of time together. The work itself is not very structured, there are no set hours, and in our case, there was no specific idea of what to do, so we looked for something to do ourselves, kept the house tidy, and cooked every meal. We expected something different, but it was still nice, despite some communication misunderstandings. The description of the project does not accurately reflect what we found upon arrival. I would recommend constantly updating the profile to show what it is currently like.

This place is truly special, full of warmth, love, and a beautiful, vibrant energy. From the very first moment, I felt so welcomed and appreciated. The people here are open, accepting, and genuine, creating a space where everyone can truly be themselves. During my stay, I learned so much, not only about the land and the community but also about myself. The nature surrounding this place is healing, and every day brought new inspiration. The food was absolutely amazing. Sharing meals together was a highlight of each day. I left feeling lighter, happier, and full of gratitude. I would love to come back one day.

I can’t say enough good things about Vincent and Maria! They only stayed at our property for about a week, but accomplished so much that it still feels like they were here for an entire month! 🙃😅 Their visit coincided with several other volunteers, all of whom were equally impressed by Vince and Maria’s incredible work ethic—and on top of that, they were just wonderful humans. They brought such great energy to our little team this summer and got along beautifully with everyone. Every time I give someone a tour of the property now, I can’t help but point out the huge area they cleared in record time—uncovering a path, stairs, and multiple spaces we didn’t even realize were there! Thanks to their hard work, we now have a safe area for our ducks, much easier access across the property, and even a designated compost zone. Given how much they accomplished in just one week, I can only imagine what hosting them longer might yield. For all these reasons, we can’t wait to welcome Vince and Maria back—it was a real joy, friends! Come visit us again soon!! 💚
