Ciao tutti! 😊 I will write in English because while my Italian improved a lot, I'm not so confident in its spelling! What an amazing experience coming to stay & help out with Fabio, Luisa, Martina y Virgilio. They took me in with open arms from the first day and made me feel completely at home. What a shame to leave after only 2 weeks! I spent the first week with Fabio whilst the others were visiting family in Sardinia and the second week with Martina & Virgilio. Together with Fabio we managed the whole wine making process of collecting the grapes and removing the stems to pressing and filtering the final product which was really cool and I enjoyed it a lot. Then with Virgilio we did more garden-based work to prepare all the firewood for winter. There wasn't a day when any of it felt like work as I found myself surrounded by great people, fresh autumn air and two fantastic dogs in Janus and Nira (I'm missing them a lot!). The area itself is stunningly beautiful with some of the best sunsets I've been lucky enough to see. Also feel like I've got to mention the food also was fantastic, always prepared and eaten together, and I also had the opportunity to learn from some of their culinary expertise. All in all a really great experience, great people and a one I would definitely recommend. What a shame I couldn't stay for longer! Un abbraccio grande per tutti (particolarmente per i cuccioli) 😊

Maud, Seb, Lily and Löise are such a warm and welcoming family. After staying with them for 3 weeks I felt like part of the family. All of the communication was clear and they always checked up on me to make sure everything was okay. I helped with household jobs such as cooking, cleaning, and a bit of gardening. I also spent lots of time with the girls, played games with the family and went on days out with them on the weekends. There are mountains and lakes to enjoy and Chambéry is a lovely area to explore. Thank you so much for having me!

Max could only stay two days and we would have been happy to have him more days with us because he's a really nice and easy going guy. We wish him all the best. Always welcome.

I stayed with Laura‘s family for one month and it was an absolutely amazing experience. It was my first workaway, so I was a little bit nervous, but from the minute I started to talk to Laura (even per texting) I felt at ease. Laura is very attentive, emotionally attune and very kind (and I’m not a person, who trusts easily). The family takes great care of you: They will buy what you prefer to eat, let you spend quality time with them or stay alone and perhaps discover the region, so all in all you are independent but very well taken care of. The dog is a sweet boy and the girls Perla and Diana were extremely lovely and such pure souls to be around (as well as the rest of the family of course). I had a lot of fun with them. If you like children, you will like them! I will always cherish Viareggio and the family, especially Laura for her big heart. Also, the amount of love she has for my Palestinian heritage. That meant a lot to me. I hope, I will remain in contact with the family even now after leaving since I consider this experience a very important one in my personal growth. It helped me grow immensely as a person. Perhaps we could meet again in the future. I feel so much love for this family and I wish them all the best. Thanks for letting me experience Italian hospitality. I feel so grateful. Also, she responds very fast, which is amazing!! And in general people in Viareggio are extremely kind & social!! As a German I was shocked in a good way!! Also she has a great singing voice ,a nice vibrato and an amazing sense of style 😙😙😙 oh, and the house is very clean and hygienic!! Elin and Thomas were truly wonderful hosts! I got to help with diy and carpenter project (access to all kinds of cool tools), some cleaning, cooking and just little things around the house. Working time usually started around 10am for a few hours, then lunchbreak and some work in the afternoon, but there was never a rush. Besides the working part, I got to learn about new games, good books and films and experienced the beautiful forest, where we even collected mushrooms together :) The nature around the farm is very nice for a walk/hike, you will also find some cute places to go for a swim in summer. You should also visit the Koster Islands, beautiful for hiking! Or check out the Second Hand store in Strömstad :) Elin and Thomas had so many ideas on what to experience and they always encouraged me to do fun things besides helping on the farm. I really enjoyed staying at your farm, your positive attitude and appreciation for all the little things. I can only recommend Elin and Thomas to everyone! Thank you for having me! :)

Nina is an amazing young woman full of life and joy. She immediately bonded with me and the crazy pets, as well as with the other Workaway I already had here. She is full of energy and enthusiasm and both did a wonderful job at managing all chores that I asked and taking initiative on others I didn't 🤗 I'm so thankful for all her help with the fruit and nut picking, which due to a momentary set back on my health I wouldn't have been able to do. I wish her all the luck in her next endeavour and I remain available for any help she might need to achieve it 🙏

Ariel arrived and became simply part of our family: he supported us through very difficult times with his essential and precious presence at home and his lovely care for our Creatures and our home. Unfortunately, 6 months flew by far too quickly and as soon as he left he was missed. We didn't say goodbye, we simply shared hope to see each other again soon!

Leonie is a lovely person to work and live with. She is efficient and hard working, and very easy to be around. Thanks for you help at the farm :)

Heather and Mike Thank you so much for the opportunity to work with you on your beautiful home in France. You made me feel at home with kindness and care, I had all the creature comforts that any workaway would be happy with and I'm sure you will make great hosts in the future. Jule is a fantastic girl, she helped enormously along with her friend Leona 🙂 I actually think they finished every single thing on the project lists which is not given😃 They did a great job and had a lot of patience with my daughter and the animals (and me ofcourse 😁) . We loved having Jakob stay with us on our boat this summer. He was awesome with our son Ren and took really great care of our golden retriever, Honey. They always had a great time together. Keep working on your cooking skills, but we always appreciated your effort... haha!! He also did a great job painting our boat and looking after it when we were away for 2 two weeks. He was always respectful and helpful! Thanks again!!

Marielena is a fabulous girl, she is hardworking and does everything well, sweet and honest character and great to be around 🙂 We had a lot of fun and a few adventures ❤️ Full recommendation 🙂

La experiencia con Lihan ha sido un hermoso desafio, pese a no saber el idioma encontramos las formas de comunicarnos, ella siempre estuvo disponible a todo lo que se necesite, es increíble como en este tipo de intercambios no nos limita el idioma y con Lihan fue un gran tiempo, estamos muy agradecidos y felices de haberte conocido hija. I spent a week at Julia and Chris's place with their two lovely children in September 2025. They were kind enough to invite me to help with some DIY projects. We shared lunches, dinners, and some trips to different places. During my stay, the entire apartment was available to me, and they provided everything I needed. The apartment is brand new and well-maintained. I helped Chris put up a fence, we practiced Spanish with Julia, and I also helped her with graphic design, making some sketches for her project. The place is surrounded by nature, parks, and palaces. Its surroundings are very beautiful. I appreciate all the gestures they made toward me. I wish them the best :) Saludos! Alejandro

We had a great time staying with Harald, Anne, and their kids. They’re a super friendly and relaxed family, and we felt at home right away. We definitely recommend staying with them if you get the chance! Their house is in a beautiful spot with an amazing view over the fjord – we even had that view from our bedroom, which was really nice to wake up to. During our stay, we helped with things like pruning the fruit trees (also with a great view!), and it was nice to work outside in such a peaceful place. We also enjoyed the evenings spent together – eating dinner, reading, crafting, and just enjoying the calm without a TV in the background. It was really nice to be part of their everyday life for a bit, and their way of living was inspiring to see. Thanks so much for having us – we really enjoyed our time with you!

Federica´s stay with me was her first workaway experience, originally down to stay for 7 weeks, she shortened her commitment to 2 weeks with the possibility of staying longer. Federica would have been better suited to a host who had the time available to teach her about working with multiple dogs in a kennel situation, due to the shortened stay, I couldn´t invest the time in to doing this. Unfortunately there wasn´t other work that Federica could help me with and we agreed to cut the stay short. Federica has a really sweet personality and I wish her well in her future volunteering with Workaway.
