What can we say about Paul other than simply a 5+++ workawayer. He has boundless amounts of energy. Always up early and ready to go even before every body had finished breakfast !! After a busy day working on the land he would go for a 10 k run or even longer if time permitted. A great team member when we picked all the grapes ,fit, strong and used his common sense when needed. Also a good problem solver. Very interesting to hear about his life in Alaska and all his travels around the world .Street wise and confident . We wish him him well in his travels and who ever wants and needs a guy like Paul ,well snap him up immediately. He is the best

Yufu and Francis have established something truly special in their village in Nara. Situated on a pristinely flowing river and encompassed by forested mountains, their place is a perfect refuge for those looking to get away from Japanese urban life. Yufu and Francis are both compassionate, patient, and whole heartedly present people, and it was a joy to be able to live with them and experience their slice of life. The work is varied and there are numerable different tasks that need to be completed on any given day, so it's easy to find a job that resonates with your unique skillset. They are both amazing chefs, so trust me, you'll be eating amazing food every day!! As long as you wake up every day with enthusiasm and handle your work with diligence, this place will open its heart to you and grant you an experience to always keep with you. Thank you Yufu and Francis!!

My time at Ian and Lucy's is one I will never forget—If I could leave 10 stars I would! They set the bar super high as my first Workaway experience. Incredibly generous and welcoming hosts, I felt integrated into their beautiful home and family immediately. I miss their wolf pack so so much, coming down every morning and being greeted by all 5 dogs, tails wagging, ready for cuddles and play. Their two cats [now three! ;)] are also the sweetest and most beautiful angels. Their daughters Millie and Freya are very lovely and sweet, and we all got along so well. I always had my own room and en suite bathroom which was very nice. They did an amazing job on their property and walking around the gardens or chilling by the pool was always so peaceful. Lucy is an amazing cook and always made sure we had plenty to eat. They were also always so kind to invite me along to their plans, such as a dinner at a family friends' home, or if they were going into the town, they'd always ask if I'd like to come along. Communication about my work was flawless and I worked no more than 5 hours everyday. They always made sure that I was able to explore Puglia on my days off, either by driving me to different cities like Alberobello and Brindisi, or by dropping me off at the train station. I was also able to use their bikes to explore nearby towns (Francavilla and Oria), which was super fun. Words will never be enough to express how truly grateful I am to them for gifting me possibly the best month of my entire year so far. THANK YOU FOREVER!!!!! xx

My time in Nirvana was amazing I could live and feel the real Nepali culture with Akash, Ajaj and their beautiful family and friends I can highly recommend this place for people that want to disconnect from the cities and noise and want to reconnect their inner selves and their roots with Mother Earth. This place is pure magic and life, full of diversity: many bird species, flowing water, and fresh air. I got a home and a family and I can't be happiest for all my time spent there! Dere dere dhanyabad 🙏🏻 was a pleasure to share, learn and grow alongside you.

______ I spent a month in this beautiful place with two wonderful people full of positivity. I felt not only comfortable, but at home among these spiritual and open-minded souls who live the present with their feet on the ground. Being the only volunteer for three weeks made me feel even closer to them. Thank you so much, Nazareth and Rodrigo, for your beautiful home and for the strength you gave me for the journey ahead!

I had a 3 wonderful weeks in this farm with Achim, Kaspar, Lukas, and John. The tasks are varied, not difficult, and leave plenty of time to explore the region, which is very beautiful. Plus, you can use their bikes. It was my first workaway and it makes me want to do it again. Basic amenities, but a great atmosphere, and they're always willing to help if you run into trouble. It was really nice to chat with them, and very informative. I learned a lot about the farm, but not only that. Thank you all foryour kindness and hospitality during these 3 weeks. I wish you all the best !

We just spent the month of September 2025 at the Tim and Nina's paradise, what a first wonderful experience for us! The main part of this place is their beautiful garden with a lot of different and atypical vegetables that we were lucky enough to eat. Our work mostly consisted of building, gardening and woodworking. A lot of things to harvest in the garden during this period, it was really interesting. Tim is a passionate person that loves sharing with you some gardening knowledge and tips! The work can be physical sometimes, but don't worry, you will have enough energy for it with the three meals per day that they offer! In the morning, we had breakfast with everything we needed. At 1:30 - 2 pm we always shared delicious and various lunch that Tim and Nina cook with love and passion! For the dinner we used to share the left over of the lunch, some soup and some interesting discussions. Nina Will always make sure that you will have everything you need in the kitchen. On our free times, we went to canoeing and enjoy the beautiful sunset on the lake, we picked some mushrooms in the Forest, went for some relaxing walk, and visited some cities around like Karlstad. It was a wonderful first experience in this peaceful place with two lovely, kind, and interesting people. We could say more about it but we let you make your own experience there! Thank you so much Tim and Nina 🫶

I spent almost 8 week this summer at Adam's family property where I found everything I needed and even more. Communication has always been clear since the first contact message and during my stay. Even if they where not at the place all the time, they gave me instrucions so I could do the tasks in indipendent way and manage my schedule. I mainly helped with a wooden house renovation project then some other minor gardening tasks. I was provided tools and equipment to make the job in a quite professional way. I stayed in the same house I was working at, which was super nice and comfy. In the free time I had the chance to enjoy swedish long summer days going by bike to the lake or relaxing at the farm where you can find some fun entertainment as well. In the evening we also had some BBQ, campfire and dinner with their friends and neighbours I didn't have a car but I could easily arrange grocery shopping, I was visiting town a couple of times a week with the free bus which stops right outside the place. Thanks for hosting me at your place! I would come back again!

My workaway experience with Oumayma did not feel like it, it felt more like staying with a friend and working together on a project that we have at heart. It unfolded beautifully and naturally as we were two old friends coming back together, which was beautiful! I was worried about adapting, especially because that was my first time spending a longer time in a farm and sleeping for 10 days in the tent which turned out positively! The place was really peaceful and working while being surrounded by chickens and peacocks was unbelievable, a one life-time experience! :) It was truly a great experience: I learned a lot from Oumayma, her passion and hardworking carry you in a way that you want to do more and more for the project and make you want to continue supporting it even after! I cannot thank her enough for welcoming me in her world and for making me discover this part of Morocco that I was unfamiliar with and for making me experience how life in a eco-farm is! And a big thank you to her kind mum for cooking delicious Moroccan food and hardworking brothers that are supporting Oumayma and supporting this project! Shokran bessaf et bonne continuation! And I am always happy to continue supporting ;) Hope that our paths cross again!

I had a wonderful time at Bayura Garden! I stayed for about three weeks and had the opportunity to do lots of different tasks in the garden. Helping with the batch rocket heater was really nice too. I always felt very welcome, and it was great to learn more about permaculture, as well as how to make kimchi and soap on my own. The game nights were always a lot of fun. I also had the opportunity to visit a very stunning stove which I’ll never forget. The place itself is very beautiful, and Gijón is only about 20 minutes away by bike, so it’s easy to explore the area. Overall, it was an amazing experience – I’d definitely recommend it!

I stayed with Miriam and Danillo for the month of August and had a really great experience. As it was August, it was low season so things were very relaxed but I still really enjoyed my experience helping in the albergue. It was really fun meeting pilgrims and hearing their stories of their Camino so far. Las herrerías is a beautiful little village. There is a very warm and friendly atmosphere with the people here and the nature surrounding is just beautiful. Everything was completely fair with working hours and the accomodation was lovely. The albergue is so beautiful with a gorgeous library and garden area. I would definitely recommend this experience to anyone interested in working on the Camino. Thank you so much Miriam and Danillo for a wonderful experience.

It was a pleasure to host Temirei, and he jumped into every task with enthusiasm and curiosity. Varnishing deck railings, scrubbing down the decks, dragging brush out of the forest was such a huge help for us as we prepare for winter. It was also great to see how he was exploring Nevada City and its natural environment with the same enthusiasm and curiosity that he brought to the work on the land. We wish him all the very best and look forward to seeing him in the future.

I really enjoyed my stay with Aleja! They are so welcoming and I had an amazing time. The view and the facilities were great and the amount of work as well. Can‘t anything add but highly recommend to make the way up there!

I had a splendid experience working and living here. The work was always enjoyable and never onerous, and Charbel was always open to going and doing fun things (hiking/ sightseeing) on days off. I stayed a month and the time absolutely flew by. There are opportunities to work at the market or go on the delivery run every week. I am glad that volunteering was resurrected here just in time for my visit. The valley is wonderful and I could not recommend it enough . I hope to return soon!

Inka spent 5 weeks at our Buddhist Centre. She was thrown in the deep end as we were full-on preparing for a retreat. Inka adjusted immediately and was wonderful! Inka is a marvellous cook and is passionate about food and nurturing people with food. Inka is a lovely human being. She is kind, friendly, flexible, honest, honorable with a lovely sense of humour. Inka looked after the humans and canine member with love and consideration. She became part of our community and engaged in all our dharma activities with interest and curiosity. She helped out in whatever way was needed. I consider Inka a wonderful asset and any organisation will be lucky to have her. I have invited Inka to return to take care of the Centre when I go to India in the future.

My time with Emilia and Patrick was truly an absolute dream. I spent 5 weeks in Toronto/at Weslemkoon Lake and I gotta stay it just flew by! The hiking, boat rides, sunset, kayaking, the beautiful and loving dogs, Toronto and all the things that I had the chance to visit there were just absolutely fantastic! I had enough time to do whatever I wanted, they gave me reasonable amount of tasks, I had the chance to organize my time and they trusted me from the very first second no matter the subject! I had great conversations with them about various topics during our drive to the lake and back to the city or whenever we had the time! I sanded furnitures, cleaned, painted, walked the dogs, helped with mealprep, easy and fun tasks! If you have the chance to go, do so! If they are not available at the time but you can delay your trip, I suggest to do so, because it is worth it! You get the best of both worlds, nature and the city.

Temple is very beautiful and it's nice to learn about different vegetables, different culture, organic farming and the religion. And super nice to meet friendly volunteer from all over the world! But definitely need more proper communication and organisation, a few examples: - It stated 25 hours work a week on the page, but after one week we got notification via whatsapp that it's mandatory to work 30 hours now (with no discussion ahead). We raised the concern, and then it was remained at 25 hours. - We were required to carry heavy barrels to water the plants in 35 degree weather, but there's option of using pipes (and two days later we installed some automated water sprays), then what's point of exhausting volunteers when there're better ways? - There was huge rain then my dormitory got flooded and my luggage soaked in water, I was trying to dry my stuff but only got the question of "why are you late for work" I guess in the religion, people feel happy about serving their god. But that's also how I feel when working here: as if I should feel lucky to have this opportunity to serve, yet my work is not appreciated. More recommended to volunteers who has enthusiasm for farming life and exploring religion (many chances to be close to Hare Krishna).

I spent one month volunteering herel in Karakol, and it was truly an unforgettable experience. From the very first day, I felt so warmly welcomed by Kunduz, the teachers, and of course the wonderful students. Everyone is incredibly open-hearted, kind, and full of positive energy. Teaching English here was so much fun. The kids are curious, motivated, and full of life. I really enjoyed every class and every moment spent with them. It never felt like “work”, more like being part of a big, joyful family. Karakol itself is an amazing place to live for a while. You have everything around you: stunning mountains, fresh air, and beautiful nature. On your free days you can explore Jeti-Ögüz, Altyn Arashan, and the breathtaking Issyk-Kul Lake — there’s always an adventure waiting nearby. Thank you, Kunduz, for creating such a special place and for all your kindness and support. My time here was one of the most unique and meaningful experiences I’ve ever had. I’ll always keep it in my heart!

This is a great workaway. The host is very generous and honest and the place is beautiful. If you come here you can be sure you will have a great time. I can't recommend it enough. Only thing I regret is coming on autumn instead of winter, since during winter you get to sky for free. Next time! But at least you get to use the cable cars for free and the view is really beautiful. You will be living in a comfortable, warm apartment in the mountains so you can enjoy the peace and when you feel like it you can always visit the city downhill. Almaty is a big city with lots to do, you will certainly not be bored here. Enjoy!
