This was my first Workaway and solo trip experience, and I couldn’t imagine a better first Workaway place. I spent the whole summer season there. I worked in the kitchen. I loved working with the guys because it was always fun. We could always find a way to have a good vibe in the kitchen, even during the big rush. I learned a lot and I have also gained a lot of new recipes, especially of desserts. Stef is really patient and a good teacher, who is really funny. He is the dad joke and weird music king.He is a great boss who is always open if you have any new ideas.And not just the work, but the beach and the forest were also amazing. Before work I could take beach walks. The shifts were well organized, so I had days to rest too and enjoy the beach and the cities around. I still miss the beautiful beach.If I have a chance, I will visit them again because I met amazing people there.✨

I spent a week at Janko and Marco's, and even though they were not there, they were excellent hosts. Their cats were super friendly and loving. Communicating with them was super nice and easy, frequently checking in with me, which I appreciated. The work was super relaxed, and I had plenty of free time to explore Budapest.Super great experience!

I stayed here in July. During my stay, the bulk of my working tasks were connected to making lunch, working in the gardens and doing the compost. There was one more Workawayer and a lot of guides, who were doing the tours in the gardens. The surroundings were beautiful and the night wildlife did not disappoint. I was also lucky with the weather, as it did not rain too much and the temperature was around 23 degrees, although very humid. One of the hosts, David, was also really nice to let me leave 3 days earlier than originally intended so I could go visit Tortuguero before my flight back home. Recommend this place :).

My sister and I had such a lovely time with Sian and her willow! We stayed for two weeks during the fall willow harvest and Sian was very accommodating as far as what kind of work the weather allowed. The hiking trail nearby has beautiful wild woods and the ocean view from the main house is incredible! Sian is so kind and generous and has lived a very interesting life, so she had many stories to share with us. She is also very integrated into her community and was able to connect us with the local culture beyond her house. My sister and I learned so much about willow, about Canada and about how we want to live! Splendid company, fulfilling work, and wonderful sights, we could not recommend this Workaway more!

Leo & Viki were probably the tidiest woofas we have had, it was a pleasure coming home to a lovely clean kitchen every day. They are very respectful and quiet. We had some good laughs and they worked very hard to achieve all the chores we had for them. Leo is very handy with tools and has good knowledge and understanding of gardening. They cooked dinner for us a few times as well which was lovely. Their rooms were left spotless. All and all, it was a pleasure and we wish them the very best for the rest of their travel in NZ.

Gabriel is a consistent, quiet, hardworking person who helped me care for a lot of animals: dogs, cat, sheep, goats, horse, rabbits, poultry.. he asked for little and offered to help 7 days per week which was a great help to me at that time. He was kind and respectful with the various people who stayed in the house as well (Airbnb, other workers) . I hope to have him back and highly recommend.

Thamy and Stein were the best hosts I could have ever hoped for! This was my first experience with Workaway and from the very beginning of my stay I felt so safe and welcome! They are generous, knowledgeable, and so fun to chat with. We had many wonderful conversations, shared delicious meals, and enjoyed several evening campfires with good beer :) Thamy is fun and spunky and easy to laugh with! Stein is quieter initially, but we had so many amazing conversations while working! Their daughter, Otte, was so sweet and silly and put a smile on my face every day. I stayed for 3 weeks and feel so lucky to have gotten to know them and Belgian culture even for a short time! The location of their home is ideal for exploring both rural Flanders and some larger cities by bus and train. Belgium and this family will always have a special place in my heart and I hope to see Stein, Thamy, and Otte again in the future! I could not recommend this workaway more!! <3

It was just great having Vanessa in our place with with her shiny ,calm and beautiful energy. She made great meals and tiding up everywhere. Even in the garden work She is a very good help. Her dog Hazel was playing all day long with our dog chocolat and it was great to see that. Thank you Vanessa vor everything and we hope to see you again. All the best in your way.

Great couple of young ladies, always helping in various task in the hostel, nice attitude and great vibe for the team! would love to have them back!

John stayed with us for three month and did so many things.. he built dry stone walls in the garden, a Pergola, a bench and much more... he is super hard working and knows all things concrete stone and wood. He makes the best Salsa and cooks really well. He became part of the family, showed the kids how to make jewellery out of old electric cables and stones. Lovely and easy to be around we can't wait to have him back!

Well, working and living on that farm was honestly a completely different and amazing experience for me, from the place itself, surrounded by this magical forest, to the people I met there, all the wonderful friends we lived together :'') You meet so many interesting people there, from all over the world! And that was truely nice and enjoyable experience for me. Working on the farm alongside other volunteers was fun, and I genuinely loved getting my hands into dirt and touching the plants. I’m truly grateful to Burak for creating such an environment. I stayed around six weeks, and I'm looking forward to go back there again!

Emma is a smiling girl who always want to help. She does not need many training to learn and to be proactive. We are missing her a lot. Even in hard conditions, she never complains and try to get the work done as well as possible.

Joel was a fantastic host! Such an easy going, nice guy with excellent communication and lots of knowledge. He set me up with everything I could possibly need for a productive and enjoyable visit. Joel’s home is in a quiet neighborhood in beautiful Boulder CO. The bus stop is 30 seconds away and there are grocery stores and restaurants just down the street. The view from the backyard is incredible and watching the sunrise light up the flatirons with a hot cup of coffee is truly an inspirational way to start the day. Perches the cat is just the sweetest. She loves affection and has beautiful eyes. She is easy to care for and I miss her already ❤️ Joel taught me how to use various tools in his workshop and has so much knowledge to share. He is a master of ingenuity and the type of person you would want on your team no matter what the project entails. I am so appreciative of the opportunity and for the hospitality that I received. This was my first Workaway experience and I was a little nervous, but thanks to Joel I have the confidence to plan my next adventure. Thank you Joel for being such a kind and welcoming host. La descripción es muy acertada, es un proyecto estupendo para personas que quieren estar aisladas en la naturaleza, tienen ganas de trabajar físicamente y disfrutan de un estilo de vida rústico. ¡Gracias por esta bonita experiencia!

We are 2 french girls and we have spend more than 2 weeks here. Our experience at Kim and Steve's place was such a delight! We really felt like at home around them. The suroundings are gorgeous and unlike any others. Their place is very welcoming. It's an experience we will never forget!!

Lina and her daughter, Cattleya, were wonderful guests. Lina has a beautiful and supportive energy, always kind and genuinely helpful. She loves to collaborate, connect people, and pays attention to details. Cattleya is a sweet, joyful young girl who brought happiness and calm to the house. I fully recommend hosting them. 100%

Konstant and Alice stayed with us as Workawayers, and we could not have been happier with the experience. They are hardworking, motivated, and always eager to learn—especially about Türk kültürü. They were open to trying new tastes in Turkish cuisine and quickly embraced our way of life with genuine curiosity. We did our olive harvesting together with them, and honestly, we could not have achieved it without their help. They approached every task with energy, dedication, and a wonderful spirit. They also built a great relationship with our children—always smiling, positive, and fun to be around. Beyond the work, we shared many meaningful conversations and learned so much from them about French culture and life in France, which made the exchange truly special. We wish them a safe and happy journey wherever they go next, and we would gladly welcome them back to Türkiye anytime. Our home will always be open for them. Hanna & her girlfriend Heidi stayed with us for 5 weeks. They were a terrific help as I am on maternity leave with my third child who was only a few weeks old when they arrived. My husband & I needed a lot of help caring for the baby & 2 year old toddler & our older girl in the evenings & weekends. The girls helped us immensely, they slotted into family life; they mainly cooked, cleaned, played with & entertained the children. It is a very busy household & Hanna & Heidi were very flexible & willing to help & support in any way possible. We were very grateful for their presence in our home & know they will be a success at whatever they put their minds too. Thanks, Maire & Declan

Andrea and Bongo are amazing hosts, and is an incredible place to work. The cabins are quaint and retro, filled with wonderful artifacts from times past. The tavern is fun, energetic, and eccentric, it’s always a great laugh working behind the bar, serving drinks and food to the fantastic guests and locals. It was great getting to do a variety of different types of work. If there was something we didn’t know how to do, Bongo and Andrea were patient, understanding, and always willing to teach us. With such a range of tasks, it was fun coming in each day and getting to try something different. It was great working on the bar, making coffees, sandwiches, and much more, I even got to invent my own cocktail! Helping Bongo with maintenance was also a lot of fun. I feel that both Bongo and I (Adrian) learned a lot from each other. Bongo is a creative genius and is never short of ideas to make life more fun. Whether he’s designing new menus or creating signage for special events like Trivia, it’s amazing to watch him bring things to life in a unique way. Andrea is an amazing cook and the mastermind behind the wonderful food on the menu. They were patient and a great teacher, whether they were showing us how to prepare dishes or how to use the POS system we never felt pressured and were able to take our time to learn. Both Andrea and Bongo are incredibly talented musicians, and it was an absolute pleasure to hear them play for the Tavern guests each night. Whitney is a beautiful little town and very easy to get around. Only 5 km from Algonquin Park, you never run out of things to do. The locals are lovely, welcoming people, and we feel like we’ve made a second home here in Whitney, we will definitely come back. Bongo and Andrea have been amazing. I (Adrian) had some health issues while we were with them, and they were nothing but supportive. They took us on so many adventures, from back-country canoe camping trips to Canada Day cornhole competitions. We’ve loved it so much that we’ve decided to stay in the area for another six months! With Bongo and Andrea, we truly feel we’ve made friends for life. Overall, this is the place to be. If you’re looking for somewhere off the beaten track, in a small quiet town in one of the most beautiful areas of Canada, we would 100% recommend it. We cannot wait to come back and visit!

Achille and Noe, are good friends, hard and smart working, Problem solvers and reasoning too, they can blend quick and supportive in any changes. ( I call them Brother ......Kaka in Kiswahili). They have been friendly and brothers to me and our community, they are open easy and ready to make friends and so they get to now all the shortcut in my village more than I do,. they are very good teachers to the kids, ( they teach Computer classes in our school). Noe is a babysitter and Achille is a baby-walker ( They can play and accompany babies). No complain ,these two are Hakuna Matata type of guys who can really be helpful in the garden and in the farm as well, I recall we could go a little bit away from home to collect water and Mandazi for breakfast.
