Hello and welcome to our profile! 👋

We are Leandro (26, from Argentina) and Viktoria (23, from Germany) — a motivated, hardworking and easy-going couple who enjoy meaningful work, learning new skills, and being part of new environments.

We are currently in New Zealand on a Working Holiday Visa (until October 2026), based near Tauranga, where we are helping on an orchard and working locally.

New Zealand has been a long-time dream for us, and now that we are here, we feel even more certain that we would love to build a long-term future in this country.

About me (Leandro):
I come from the south of Argentina and have always enjoyed hands-on work, especially outdoors. I’m currently working on an egg farm and taking steps towards becoming an arborist trainee (doing courses and such), as I would love to develop a career in this field and eventually find a sponsored opportunity.

I’m proactive, practical and like to take initiative, I enjoy solving problems and improving things wherever I can.

About Viktoria:
Viktoria has a professional background in hospitality and hotel management, with experience in high-standard hotels in Germany. She is organized, responsible and detail-oriented, and enjoys creating clean, positive environments.

She is currently looking for opportunities in hospitality, but is open to other roles that can help us grow and stay longer in New Zealand.

What we are looking for:
Our main goal right now is to find work opportunities that could lead to long-term stay or sponsorship in New Zealand.

We are open to different types of work and always happy to learn — what matters most to us is being part of a good environment and contributing in a meaningful way.

About us:
We are clean, respectful, independent and easy to live with. We don’t need constant supervision, we understand tasks, take responsibility, and enjoy helping genuinely.

We really appreciate the Kiwi lifestyle, the people, the mindset, and the positive attitude, and we would love to build something here.

Like the vast majority yes. As a priority I would like to be fluent in English to make way for other languages (German, French, Italian). Currently I have the experience of having shared with other volunteers, chatting, eating, sharing and working speaking English most of the time. I have no problem communicating and having a conversations.

I studied at an Agricultural Technical College and also hold a degree in Chemical Engineering, which gave me a strong technical and problem-solving background.
I have hands-on experience in:

Basic electrical work
Property maintenance

I am confident using tools and working independently, always aiming to find practical solutions and improve results.

My time as a volunteer on Workaway was one of the most enriching experiences I've ever had in my life. This place is an oasis of peace and tranquility, a retreat in the heart of nature that completely disconnects you from the hustle and bustle of the city. The people I met here are simply wonderful: kind, cheerful, and full of happiness. However,… read more I must warn you that it's not a destination for everyone. It's a bit remote from the city, and mobility is essential to explore Ireland thoroughly. But in my case, this remote setting turned out to be the key to sorting out my thoughts and changing some habits in my life.

The hosts were always willing to help at any time. I never felt like I was lacking anything, and their level of commitment and professionalism in everything they offered made my stay comfortable and incredibly interesting. They are sweet, polite, and respectful people who genuinely care about your well-being. What was originally meant to be a one-month stay turned into five, and every moment shared here has become a treasure I will cherish forever.

Ronan is an exceptionally wise person, who turns a simple walk in the countryside into a fascinating experience. There are no limits to what you can learn from him, and his dedication to environmental care is inspiring. Marie is a tireless caregiver, always attentive to any discomfort you may have and ensuring you feel as comfortable as possible. Paddy radiates positive energy and contagious joy, with endless patience; just being around him brightens your day. And Illia, with whom I spent more time, is a simple and transparent person, incredibly hardworking and sociable. His knowledge of construction is vast, and he has no problem teaching you the trade.

During my stay, I shared space with other volunteers from different cultures, further enriching my experience. Working with all of them was a pleasure and an opportunity to learn and grow together.

For those considering joining this volunteering opportunity, I highly recommend it for people who don't mind isolation and who want to change their surroundings, work in the countryside, and learn from nature. The food is plentiful and delicious, and the accommodation is equipped with every imaginable comfort. If you ever need anything, the hosts will always be ready to assist you. The moments of peace and reflection you'll experience here are invaluable.

In conclusion, I want to express my profound gratitude for the opportunity to be part of this project. I appreciate the time you took to share with me, the laughter, and the moments that filled my days with life. Simply put, thank you for everything! This experience will be etched in my heart forever.

We had the pleasure of hosting Leandro for almost 2 months at our home, and we must say that Leandro is a remarkable young man, with an exceptional work ethic and a great personality.

Leandro is incredibly hardworking, and he takes pride in ensuring that everything he does is done to the best of his abilities. He is also exceptionally tidy and… read more orderly, which was always appreciated when he was staying with us.

What impressed us the most about Leandro was his respectful nature. He was always courteous and considerate of others, and he treated everyone in our household with kindness and dignity.

Leandro's skills are not just limited to his excellent work ethic and good nature. He is also a very skilled tradesman, and he helped us with various gardening and construction projects around the house.

Last but not least, we must mention Leandro's cooking skills. He made us some of the most delicious meals we have ever had, and he even taught us a few of his favorite Argentinean recipes. His culinary expertise truly added to our cultural exchange experience, and we were grateful to have him in our home.

We also want to mention that Leandro went above and beyond in his role as a volunteer. Not only did he work hard on various projects around the house and garden, but he also took the time to help other volunteers settle in and feel comfortable.

Leandro was always willing to lend a hand and share his knowledge of the work, the house, and the surrounding area with others. He helped new volunteers get accustomed to their surroundings and always made sure that everyone felt welcome and included.

His kindness and generosity did not go unnoticed, and we truly appreciated the way he went out of his way to help others. Leandro is a true team player and a valuable asset to any volunteering program or organization.

Overall, Leandro's hardworking and helpful nature, as well as his respectful and cheerful personality, made him a wonderful volunteer to host in our home. We were lucky to have him with us, and we would recommend him without hesitation to anyone looking for a dedicated and reliable volunteer.

We would like to express our heartfelt gratitude to Leandro for his hard work, kindness, and positive attitude during his time with us. It was a pleasure to have him as a volunteer and a guest in our home, and we wish him all the best in his future projects.

It was a very gratifying experience; this was my first-time volunteering and I feel really satisfied with the experience. I chose this option among several others because of the type of work it was, and the experience I had previously. My goal at first was to use volunteering to avoid having to spend on accommodation, food and services, but over… read more time I leave with much more than that, a truly fulfilling experience.
Working outdoors without city noise in full sunlight, something really filling, also yes, you are going to work hard. That's 5 hours that you're actually doing repetitive physical tasks like moving dirt, leveling the ground, digging, weeding, moving heavy rocks. On the other hand, we also have lighter activities such as taking care of the animals, feeding them, cleaning the stables, watering plants, among others. Many times, you will find yourself in a situation in which you have to discern the course of action of the task you are carrying out, being aware that you are not only following instructions, but rather, taking into account its objective, which is the most efficient, focusing on the task and clearing your mind of the rest.
The relationship between work and everything that the place offers you is excellent, the variety of food that they provide you, your own room, bathroom, television, internet, etc. Beyond that, the place offers you very interesting places to visit and be comfortable.
The place itself is beautiful, everything built by hand stone by stone, really an architecture that makes you think, "Wow, this was really made by a person with their hands?", this place reflects time, effort and dedication no matter where you look.
I was lucky to meet several volunteers at the same time from other countries (England, Germany and Australia) and share time, experiences with them, expanding my knowledge. The experience was very rich, cooking, having lunch, having dinner, and working. Lots of laughs and interesting talks.
Nadina and Miquel Angel are very warm people, they really want you to feel comfortable and they care about you, they work a lot. They are quite busy people but even, so they take time to share and stay with you.
I improved my English a lot in the process, something I didn't expect being a volunteer in Spain. Now I feel more comfortable talking to an English speaker.
It is a very quiet space to be able to disconnect for a while, to be able to work on your own project, personal development, a space in case you want to be alone, or quite the opposite, share dozens of experiences with very friendly people. The focus is given by you.
This part goes to all the guys with whom I shared these 1 month and 21 days (they were not planned, but it was very worth it) thank you for everything, for the opportunity to let me have been in this volunteering and see if one is traveling alone (as in my case) away from family and friends, you can always count on meeting wonderful people like this!
Thanks to Rob, Ned and Anna for the talks, laughs and time together, thanks Nadina and Miquel Angel for your concern and care. I will miss spending time with you very much.
And going back, if you are thinking of coming to this volunteer, I hope this is useful for you, I'm trying to be as objective as possible. I 100% recommend coming with an open mind, you will take advantage of this volunteer and have a beautiful experience.
It was a very pleasant experience to be my first volunteer, I learned and shared a lot, I am really grateful for the opportunity to have been there and I hope to return in the future.
