Lina and her daughter, Cattleya, were wonderful guests. Lina has a beautiful and supportive energy, always kind and genuinely helpful. She loves to collaborate, connect people, and pays attention to details. Cattleya is a sweet, joyful young girl who brought happiness and calm to the house. I fully recommend hosting them. 100%

Konstant and Alice stayed with us as Workawayers, and we could not have been happier with the experience. They are hardworking, motivated, and always eager to learn—especially about Türk kültürü. They were open to trying new tastes in Turkish cuisine and quickly embraced our way of life with genuine curiosity. We did our olive harvesting together with them, and honestly, we could not have achieved it without their help. They approached every task with energy, dedication, and a wonderful spirit. They also built a great relationship with our children—always smiling, positive, and fun to be around. Beyond the work, we shared many meaningful conversations and learned so much from them about French culture and life in France, which made the exchange truly special. We wish them a safe and happy journey wherever they go next, and we would gladly welcome them back to Türkiye anytime. Our home will always be open for them. And of course—Konstant and Alice, we hope all your plans for building your own future farm come true very soon🙏.We would love to visit you there one day and continue this beautiful exchange.😉 Teşekkürler Konstant and Alice — merci beaucoup pour tout ! 🇹🇷🇫🇷

Hanna & her girlfriend Heidi stayed with us for 5 weeks. They were a terrific help as I am on maternity leave with my third child who was only a few weeks old when they arrived. My husband & I needed a lot of help caring for the baby & 2 year old toddler & our older girl in the evenings & weekends. The girls helped us immensely, they slotted into family life; they mainly cooked, cleaned, played with & entertained the children. It is a very busy household & Hanna & Heidi were very flexible & willing to help & support in any way possible. We were very grateful for their presence in our home & know they will be a success at whatever they put their minds too. Thanks, Maire & Declan

Andrea and Bongo are amazing hosts, and is an incredible place to work. The cabins are quaint and retro, filled with wonderful artifacts from times past. The tavern is fun, energetic, and eccentric, it’s always a great laugh working behind the bar, serving drinks and food to the fantastic guests and locals. It was great getting to do a variety of different types of work. If there was something we didn’t know how to do, Bongo and Andrea were patient, understanding, and always willing to teach us. With such a range of tasks, it was fun coming in each day and getting to try something different. It was great working on the bar, making coffees, sandwiches, and much more, I even got to invent my own cocktail! Helping Bongo with maintenance was also a lot of fun. I feel that both Bongo and I (Adrian) learned a lot from each other. Bongo is a creative genius and is never short of ideas to make life more fun. Whether he’s designing new menus or creating signage for special events like Trivia, it’s amazing to watch him bring things to life in a unique way. Andrea is an amazing cook and the mastermind behind the wonderful food on the menu. They were patient and a great teacher, whether they were showing us how to prepare dishes or how to use the POS system we never felt pressured and were able to take our time to learn. Both Andrea and Bongo are incredibly talented musicians, and it was an absolute pleasure to hear them play for the Tavern guests each night. Whitney is a beautiful little town and very easy to get around. Only 5 km from Algonquin Park, you never run out of things to do. The locals are lovely, welcoming people, and we feel like we’ve made a second home here in Whitney, we will definitely come back. Bongo and Andrea have been amazing. I (Adrian) had some health issues while we were with them, and they were nothing but supportive. They took us on so many adventures, from back-country canoe camping trips to Canada Day cornhole competitions. We’ve loved it so much that we’ve decided to stay in the area for another six months! With Bongo and Andrea, we truly feel we’ve made friends for life. Overall, this is the place to be. If you’re looking for somewhere off the beaten track, in a small quiet town in one of the most beautiful areas of Canada, we would 100% recommend it. We cannot wait to come back and visit!

Achille and Noe, are good friends, hard and smart working, Problem solvers and reasoning too, they can blend quick and supportive in any changes. ( I call them Brother ......Kaka in Kiswahili). They have been friendly and brothers to me and our community, they are open easy and ready to make friends and so they get to now all the shortcut in my village more than I do,. they are very good teachers to the kids, ( they teach Computer classes in our school). Noe is a babysitter and Achille is a baby-walker ( They can play and accompany babies). No complain ,these two are Hakuna Matata type of guys who can really be helpful in the garden and in the farm as well, I recall we could go a little bit away from home to collect water and Mandazi for breakfast. Asante Sana for sharing your knowledge and Experience e with us.

This was my first Workaway, but what an experience! I was very warmly welcomed by Tor and Ingrid at the campsite. The tasks and work were clear, varied, and enjoyable. Being part of a team of six or seven other volunteers made the work even more pleasant! The atmosphere was excellent, thanks in particular to the proactivity and goodwill of all the volunteers in the daily tasks and in organizing activities together (walks, sauna, board games, movies, etc.), while still allowing time for ourselves when needed thanks to the private rooms/dogs. In addition, we took several long weekends to explore Norway thanks to the flexibility of the hosts who granted us three-day weekends. I spent six fabulous weeks in Strondheim, a place where I was able to improve my English and create wonderful memories while feeling completely at home. A huge thank you to Tor, Ingrid, and all the volunteers for your warm welcome. I highly recommend this place ! Paul

This was my very first workaway experience, and I couldn’t have asked for a better one. It’s been over a month since my stay ended, but I haven’t had the words to write this until now. The whole experience meant so much to me. My purpose coming here was to learn about different ways of life. And I did. What I didn’t expect was how much I actually discovered about myself and the deep connections I made. The people there are genuinely amazing. In the four weeks I spent at the finca, it became a home to me, and they, like a second family. Ana and Bruno are such warm, kind and caring people. You can really feel their love in everything they do. The energy, they bring with them everywhere, is contagious in the best way possible. Their children, Aluna and Alma, are wonderful. They are bright and witty, and I’ve enjoyed every moment I spent with them. They both actually taught me a lot, which I hadn’t expected, but I’m very grateful for. And Fred, he helped me settle in and immediately made me feel comfortable. He was so incredibly helpful, kind and funny. We’ve had many great conversations and he made the work more fun. (They also have the sweetest cat Mao, who brought me such joy by just being his loving and cuddly self) The work itself was quite nice. From the coziness of digging the weeds in the vegetable garden, to the strain of carrying wood and rocks. Sure it was hard, sometimes difficult, and you would get dirty and hot, and some days completely exhausted. But it was fulfilling work, and I found myself enjoying it. It was also interesting, because I learned so much about plants, permaculture/sustainable living and the acequia-system that waters the land (so fascinating!). Being out in nature and caring for the land provided me with such calm, joy and groundedness. And I could also feel myself getting stronger and my body thriving with a physical workday. The daily meeting, where we discussed work tasks and expressed gratitude, was also a highlight. The regular practice of gratitude shifted my mindset. And sharing it in a group really just lifts the spirit and gives energy/motivation for the rest of the day. I don’t think I’ve ever felt so healthy as I did there with the work, the food, the meditations and gratitude and being out in nature. The spiritual side of the stay was so interesting. I really enjoyed participating in both the regular morning meditations, and all the different ceremonies and learning more about their practices. For me, the bhajans/singing together was the best part. I really loved it. Ana and Bruno were good at explaining everything and teaching us the words and melodies. But even when I didn’t understand the words, it was just so beautiful to join all our voices together. I was also very fortunate to have my stay coincide with the celebration of Navratri, so I really got to experience something special and beautiful. Being in a spiritual environment with deeply spiritual people has made me connect more with my own spirituality and that is something I’m taking with me. For volunteers considering this workaway: If your gut feeling is telling you, this could be something for you, listen to it. Something very beautiful might just come from it. This whole experience was honestly magical and it changed me for the better. I will keep the finca, the people, the entire experience close to my heart, always. I’m sincerely grateful for everything and I hope to see you all again someday. All my love, Mia (PS: give Mao some cuddles from me)

Kia ora - hello to all !!! I am very happy to have hosted Alisha and am now able to give the first - excellent - feedback. :-) The contact felt right from the first minute, respectful and yet already connected. It was easy to get together and find a date and time (she even downloaded Telegram for me, I really appreciate that!). You couldn't really tell that this was her first Workaway experience - she fit in perfectly from the first minute, no issue in taking over the general house rules. She did a lot of different things around the house and garden, learning and immediately doing, walking around with open eyes (as to be part of the project). Alisha prepared nice yummie dishes for us, was willing to step into spiritual things offered. We had so nice and also deep talks - I just wished I had had more time to get to know her better! But at least she could spend a lot of spare time with the other helper(s). But anyway, she is a very unusual young lady with a lot of talents, willing to get her hands on and boots dirty, with clear goals, but trusting at the same time, very positive and already a lot of international experience. Always willing to help, to ask, to communicate... Thank you so much! I really hope that you will have the chance to build your own little castle on day soon... Please feel invited to come back at any time, as a helper, visitor, friend - who knows where we meet again. :-) Best of luck!

We spend one month with Marcy, it was an amazing experience and exchange, we share a lot of skills and knowledge, she came as a Workawayer and leave as a French teacher, she was teaching French class in our primary school (only in one week students/kids started telling me ...bonjour...Cava ?and many questions I can't stand). she share also teach Feminine Hygiene to the girls and she was ready to help and to give where it was necessary. Good communication skills, friendly, cooperative and openness is what I can describe Marcy for. We have a dog ( his name is Senor) he was crying when Marcy says goodbye because she loves animals and so they become friends( Senor & Senora). she is a nice person and I recommend her.

Staying on the farm was an ultimate escape to the slow-pace authentic turkish life. Mustafa, Ayshe and all the family members are the most kind and welcoming people you would ever meet. This is the type of Turkish hospitality you've heard people talking about. As I came in November, some evenings were spent in the flat in Kaman or Ayshe's mom house. We had family meals, board game evening and simply chatting over cracking nuts. You could see how loved Ayshe's mom house is by everyone - as everyday there was someone coming from the city to visit. When on farm, I helped with the greenhouse project, did some garden work and cooking. The work was not hard at all, about 2-4 hours a day. I also had an idea of the creative project that Mustafa let me do for a couple of days. Sometimes Mustafa had to work in neighboring villages, where we drove on tuk tuk and that gave me time to explore the surrounding areas. The nature around Kaman is truly beautiful - I think November was the perfect season to see the vivid colors of fields, mountains, lakes and river. Some viewpoints are stunning and there's no one else around apart from angry sheppard and guarding dogs. If you are planning to explore, be prepared. Also it is THE place for a night sky photography - just outside the house you can see the Misky way with your own eyes. In November it got rather cold at night - 3-4 degrees, but inside the house there are two stoves that make the place warm and cozy. The food was amazing. I tried as much traditional dishes as I could and will definitely take some recipes home. While I was staying, I had some food restrictions to which everyone was extremely attentive, always making sure there was something for me to eat. I came on the project during my 2-week vacation so I was quite short on time. But I am so grateful for such opportunity. No way I would enjoy Turkey that much without this incredible family. And it is always a great surprise to discover hidden gems that no tourist will ever go to. No doubt I have the second family in Turkey from now on))))

Savannah came to us initially for a 2 week placement, but only stayed for 6 days. Her work was good, but needed daily guidance on the tasks for the day. A lovely caring young lady, but we feel that the work here was too much for her. We came to a mutual agreement to end the placement sooner than was expected. We wish her well in future adventures.

We stayed with Curro for 9 days and had a wonderful experience at our first Workaway-Job. He was very caring and made sure we had everything we needed. We really appreciated that he encouraged us to work at our own pace and in our own rhythm. He is an interesting person, and it’s really enjoyable to listen to him and learn from his perspective. We felt completely comfortable and at ease during our stay and can warmly recommend him to other Workawayers. Thank you for the great time!

James and Jemima went out of their way to show us a true Dorset experience. They made wonderful suggestions, gave us lifts to the bus stops/train stations and would collect us as well. The work was enjoyable and they gave us special projects to work on, which we truly enjoyed while we helped with the sweet dogs and cat, Tommy. The two weeks we were there flew by! Thank you James and Jemima for welcoming us into your home and family.

Francesco came to us on a 2 week placement. This was his 1st ever work away. After several teething problems at the start...he worked hard and well with us, but needed guidance working on his own. Cleanliness of The Chalet accommodation was good upon leaving.

This was actually my first workaway experience, and let me tell you it was even better than I had imagined. Kaerri, as well as her partner, are super welcoming, kind, open minded and easy going! She warned me before that it was going to be a time where there is less work to do, and I wish I could have done more because you guys really deserve all the help you can get! I felt like I was staying at my grandmas house, since she is so attentive and considerate:) Of course not to mention the beautiful little town you live in, it was magical! Thank you so much for the best first workaway experience☺️

After a few days of hard work, I can assure you that their help has been indispensable. We started the day with enthusiasm and have accomplished a great deal of work at a good pace, which would have been impossible for me to do alone. They are a lovely couple who complement each other wonderfully.

“È stato un vero piacere lavorare con Yassin. È una persona sveglia, scaltra e intuitiva: non c’è bisogno di spiegargli le cose mille volte, perché le capisce al volo. Con lui mi sono trovato davvero bene, sia sul piano umano che lavorativo. Affidabile e veloce nell’apprendere, è qualcuno con cui collaborerei di nuovo senza esitazione.”

We spent two amazing weeks at Annie's sanctuary and we truly enjoyed the experience. The sanctuary is beautiful and Annie takes such great and loving care of every single member. We fell in love with several of the animals and truly enjoyed getting to know them. Next time I would love to come back in summer as it can get really cold in the house during winter.I would also recommend staying two weeks or longer. Thank you Annie for all you do! Its inspiring.
