Mary is a natural in the garden. I took her on a quick tour to explain our 'vision' and she remembered every detail, and worked wonders. She was self-motivated and she worked with care, attention to detail and cleared up after herself every day. She achieved an impressive amount of work for us. Tsita is a delight and a super, easy guest :)

I had an amazing time at Jimmy‘s home. Although I was alone for a week, I didn‘t mind it, since I had plenty things to do to entertain myself. In my free time, I often went swimming in the lake nearby (around this time of year there are not many people), tried the sauna, went for walks in the forest to pick berries and made jam for the first time. Later, two other volunteers joined and we also had a good time. Since Jimmy was not at home, we got to choose the work ourselves, based on what we liked to do and what we thought needed to be done. So that could be garden work, some deep cleaning and decluttering/organising or making jam and other things in the kitchen. The house is in a cute neighbourhood on the countryside, but there are also bikes to get around and buses if you want to go to a bigger city like Stockholm, which I really appreciated. I met Jimmy once and had some interesting talks with him, where I learned many new things. He’s a very open and nice person. If you‘re interested in spending some time in the Swedish countryside and being able to plan your day how you like it, I definitely recommend this place. You might also get to know some interesting people :)

We had a lovely week at Nik & Donna’s farmhouse. I mostly did gardening, which was fine by me. The food was great and dogs are super cute! Also the room we stayed in was very comfortable, and the surrounding countryside is gorgeous. I got to learn a little bit about canning, which was a bonus, and visit the local market. Overall, the hosts took excellent care of us!

Chiara y Vanessa fueron una dupla Bomba!, alegres y divertidas, siempre con la mejor predisposición, muy trabajadoras , tomaron iniciativa desde el primer día en varios proyectos en la finca en construcción, huerta, jardín, carpintería, entusiastas de participar en lo que fuera necesario, además de estar atentas al cuidado de los animales . Magnifica cocina italiana, súper pizzas! Un verdadero intercambio cultural.

We were delighted that Veronica could come and stay with us when we were looking for someone last minute and she settled in right away. She is a lovely, gentle person and was happy spending time with our mum. We enjoyed all the delicious food Veronica prepared and cooked for us - she is a great cook. Her English is excellent, so there was plenty of conversation. We would have loved to have her stay longer but as Bríd was going for respite care and Kieran going away, there was a limit to her time with us. However, we would welcome her back anytime and recommend her to other hosts without hesitation. Veronica, thank you for all your thoughtful little gifts especially the mobile phone neck cord which was invaluable to me when I was travelling!

Débora was an exceptional volunteer her. She's super kind and committed, and her help was key to getting the hostel ready for the season. We always showed initiative and proactivity, as well as great responsibility in every task. She's very friendly and has a great vibe. We share board games, and she always wins at Catan, hehe.😊 I definitely recommend her: any volunteer who can count on her will be in very good hands.😊

We had a great experience helping Eber on the farm. We learnt a lot and were able to help with a wide range of jobs, from milking the cows to helping with the English lessons Eber teaches. The work is varied and the set up is informal as we just integrated around Eber and his family's daily life, which suited us well. We loved spending time with the family and really felt integrated into life in Pitalito. Eber's son is a joy and his partner was lovely (and very patient with our Spanish!). She also cooked us delicious meals each day. If you want to experience rural life in Colombia with a kind and generous family, we would recommend this Workaway!

I had a wonderful time staying with Sinead and Pascal! From the very first day, they made me feel welcome and part of their home. The work was fair and clearly explained. I always felt appreciated for what I did. Both of them are easygoing, kind and fun to spend time with. I really enjoyed our conversations and the time we shared. You should be aware that the place is quite isolated and it’s difficult to reach nearby towns or cities without a car. You’ll also have plenty of time to yourself, so if you’re looking for a quiet place to get away from busy city life, this is definitely the right spot for you. The place itself is beautiful. It has a peaceful atmosphere and lots of nature around. I also had enough time to explore and enjoy the surroundings. It really felt like a good balance between work and free time. I can definitely recommend Sinead and Pascal as hosts to anyone!

Vicky è stata con noi circa 2 mesi, per tutto il periodo si è occupata di Arianna con grande dedizione. Assieme hanno studiato, giocato, cantato e hanno trascorso momenti di felicità e complicità. Vicky è una persona piena di qualità: positiva, allegra e flessibile; sa cucinare, suonare e dipingere. La sua dote migliore è il buon carattere ed è capace di affrontare tutto con il sorriso sulle labbra. Per noi è stato un gran piacere averla conosciuta e aver trascorso con lei giorni sereni. Cara Vicky avrai sempre un posto speciale nella nostra famiglia.

Thank you to Jasmin and Thomas for making us feel welcomed and cooking delicious food. We were asked to work for 3h a day, and when we did work for more than 3h a day, we could get a day off. We were given housekeeping tasks like vacuuming the floor and cleaning the kitchen, as well as renovation work like helping to scrape off wallpaper, and choping firewood. Altogether, everything was very manageable and we had time to explore around the village and in Ulm. City life in our country is very different from the peace & quiet in Bach and we enjoyed a good break!

Working for Alessandro was such a fun ride! I really really appreciated that he trusted me with his beloved animals. The communication was super easy, he always shared everything I needed to know and a lot of background stories as well. We have a similar sense of humor, so we shared lots of laughs. Helping out with dinner service was also a great experience, and the guests were always super kind. Overall, I had an amazing time and I’m really grateful for everything I got to learn. Would definitely recommend this experience to every Workawayer who truly loves and respects animals!

Paolo is a wonderful person, he gets along with everyone and adds to everyone having a good experience. He is very capable in most everything. We put up netting, harvest grapes, hauled rock, cleaned up an over grown garden, moved furniture in and out of buildings and much more. He also is a very good cook. Many thanks to Paolo for all the help with a really great attitude.

I had a wonderful time staying in Palermo with this family. I spent a month here and truly enjoyed every moment of it. Although we didn’t spend a lot of time together, they were always kind, respectful, and welcoming. I especially appreciated how flexible they were with my work schedule – it gave me the freedom to go climbing as much as I wanted, which meant a lot to me. At the beginning, working as a babysitter wasn’t the easiest, Edo didn’t always listen to me, and it took a bit of time to adjust. But as the days went by, things got smoother, and I started to enjoy our time together more and more. Both their main home and beach house were incredible, it felt like they were built in the future. The food was delicious, and Palermo is a beautiful, vibrant city that I loved getting to explore. Thank you for everything!

I spent 2 weeks here and it definitely wasn't enough! It's a very lovely school. All the teachers are very friendly and the kids are very cute. I helped during park time and also cooking classes in the evening, most of the kids really enjoyed these sessions. The room is decent and good facilities in the kitchen. The area is safe, good location to town and also a Lidl just around the corner.

I didn’t get the chance to meet Marilou and Louise in person, but they were wonderful guests throughout their stay. Communication was easy, they were reliable, respectful, and took great care of the place and the tasks they were involved in. Everything went smoothly, and I really appreciated how responsible and considerate they were. Thanks again, you’re welcome back anytime!

Dan was an absolute superstar as my Workaway guest. From the moment he arrived, he brought great energy, positivity and a genuine willingness to help with whatever was needed. He threw himself into every task with curiosity and care, and his enthusiasm made every day more enjoyable. He was also a real pleasure to have around. We had loads of great chats, cooked together most evenings, and shared many laughs along the way. Dan is kind, thoughtful, and easy to get along with, which made the experience all the more special. I can’t recommend him enough to any future host. He made a real contribution to the project and left a great impression. Thanks again, Dan!

Evaggelos stayed at our place for about two weeks. The first thing he did was reparing our tap in the kitchen, it was already like this for 8 years and quite a hard job to repair but he did it immediately! From the first moment it felt good to have Evaggelos in our house. He is very easy going and he can entertain himself perfectly. He was blending very good in our family and at some point he as well felt a bit like family. Evaggelos can work very, very hard. By good weather and by bad weather, he kept on going. And besides working very hard, he can work good and detailed, and independent. Not only in the garden he did much, but in the house as well! It is such a pleasure to have met Evaggelos and that he stayed with us! Thanks you very much and you are ALWAYS welcome!!

Vicky, Ann and Barrie left this morning after three glorious weeks of help, laughs and many hours of enjoyable company. They were here with two Japanese guys for part of their stay and were very welcoming and helpful with them in helping them enjoy their first visit to Europe. Many tasks were completed to a very high standard. Along with the basic daily activities of sweeping, doggy walking , hen feeding etc. barns have been tidied and swept, swimming pool area cleaned and mopped, tables and chairs varnished, lower garden and hen house cleaned, with the courtyard painted and stairwell cleaned and some interior painting too. Vicky is a great cook and we enjoyed her bread making. I am confident we will stay in contact and remain friends as we all enjoyed each other's company enormously.

We are very happy about Alex's contribution in our place ! She has shown great goodwill and perseverance, as well as being always nice. We will be missing the deep and fun conversations with you ! Thanks again for the hard work, and see you soon.
