Dear Ekaterina, it was great meeting you. You're so kind, helpful, and resourceful. You can even use hand tools like a drill. You've always supported me and been there for me in everything I've done. Thank you for the meals you made. It was usually just the two of us at the farm, and even though you didn't eat breakfast, you made spicy Melemen for me. 🙂 It's so nice that you're so cheerful and friendly. We were never bored when we were together. We worked, rode around in tuk-tuks, and played games. Also, thank you for the landscaping you did. I hope we see each other again. Or maybe we'll travel. 🙂 With love, your family in Türkiye 🙂

What an incredible month I had! I wish that I hadn’t made plans for after so I could have stayed for longer. It was my first Workaway so I wasn’t quite sure what to expect, but it was truly incredible! It was touching to be able to take part in such meaningful work , to bond with the team and the other volunteers and to spend so much time with the beautiful dogs. In terms of the experience living in the house and the daily tasks, everything was really well organised. You know what work needs to be done, you have free time to explore the area or stay and play with the dogs, basic food is provided, as described, which is such a huge bonus. The team are always looking out for you, so you feel really well supported. The profile is accurate and there is a wide range of work that can be done, which can also depend on what is going on in the HQ/neighbourhood/which dogs are in their care/etc. You may have some days which are much more relaxed, or you may have some days where you are out most of the time, going to a vet appointment or to the airport, it changes on a daily basis. I would definitely recommend this as a workaway, and feel spoiled that this was my first one! Having been to others now, I can appreciate even more just how lucky I was to have spent the month with the team. The other volunteers I stayed with for the month have become such good friends of mine, and I think that most of the people that are drawn to volunteer here will have a lot in common, so you will be in great company! It is going to be difficult for me to find another experience as good as this, thank you so much and I hope to see you all again soon!

Hello! I spent the best and most wonderful week of my trip with Ania. She's a kind, lively, and cheerful woman, full of positive energy, and she can cheer you up no matter how sad you are. Unfortunately, from the very first day, she was full of energy, enthusiasm, and a beautiful smile. Ania and I created a fun atmosphere with jokes and laughter. I only stayed for a week, and her family was very kind. I wished I could have stayed longer, but I couldn't because I had to return home. Thank you, Ania, and I hope we meet again.

Kasauli won my heart in this amazing farm/hotel/artistcommunity that this family hosts... I enjoyed learning about plants and nature with Venita, playing with the dog Pesto and the cat Tamatar and sharing music and art with Veda and all of their friends... the food was amazing and natural, my room made me feel like a queen and the vibes incomparable :) I recommend this place if you are an artist and like chilling life in the nature with animals, plants and lots of music!

I wanted to add my voice to the chorus of glowing positive feedback for this workaway. I spent just under a month at the Almazara and as a veteran of a few Workaways I can safely say that this is one of the best. Living in a cave might seem unconventional but the space is so comfortable that you immediately feel at home, it's warm when it's cold outside and cool when it's hot, you beginto understand why Baza is largely cave-dwelling. The food is always healthy and delicious, Clare, Frank, and Chilli ensure you will never go hungry, and sitting down with the family for lunch or the odd "bed time lunch" is a highlight of each day. They have 6 dogs and 2 donks who would love to make your acquaintance! Bacor has stunning miradores and a great bar where you can hone your futbolin skills. Sam often goes to Baza & Guadix on weekends for mercadillos so make sure you take him up if he offers you a lift. The work is great for people who have little experience working in the Campo, Noé is incredibly knowledgeable and passionate about his work and will gladly show you the ropes. Occasionally the work was a little bit unstructured but I think this was due to it being hectic trying to juggle volunteers and la burocracia Andaluza. The land is beautiful, Clare and Noé have a different approach to olive farming which prioritizes sustainability. Other work to olives; Weeding, collecting veg, feeding donks, cutting & carrying leña, fixing fences, etc. The family is always looking for new ways to expand and improve so I am sure you will get plenty of opportunities to do a variety of jobs. A few more recs: - Los baños de Zujar with Clare - Sit down and chat with Frank, he is a fountain of stories and knowledge - Visit Grana, (45 min bus from Guadix) - Hike or hitchhike to some of the surrounding villages This is a special place run by a special family who I will definitely try and revisit someday. Thank you Clare, Frank, Chilli, Sam, Noé, Ann, Suzi and, of course, Oscar!

I stayed at Hugh’s house for two weeks this November. This has been my first Workaway experience. Hugh is a very kind host and really made me feel at home. During the first week, I also met another Workawayer who had already been there for a few days, which was a pleasant surprise and it was really nice to meet him. Hugh provides three meals a day. I really enjoyed the dinners he cooked, they were delicious! On our days off, he offered to drive us to nearby villages to visit them. On the day I arrived and the day I left, he kindly drove me to Durrow/Abbeyleix to catch the bus. The work during the first week mainly consisted of harvesting apples to make juice or cider. It was very interesting to take part in the whole process, and I learned a lot. On the other days, I did a variety of tasks both indoors and outdoors. I also learned many interesting things about Ireland, and I had the chance to practice and improve my English. If you enjoy the countryside, nature, and relaxing by the fireplace, this is the perfect place for you. I am very grateful for the experience and I take with me wonderful memories of my first days in Ireland. Thanks for everything, Hugh!!! I truly appreciate it :)

Sally and Kallum were an absolute delight to host. they were positive, kind and respectful, with great senses of humour and an enthusiastic can do attitude, The kind of people that make hosting a pleasure. They worked hard in the garden - doing everything as per instruction and perfectly - clearing grass, weeding, moving stacks of heavy roof tiles, pruning, hedge trimming, hand sawing fire wood and mixing concrete (thanks Kallum!) They also kept my spirits up during a difficult time - we shared many laughs and stories Sally and Kallum are the cream of the Workawayer crop - and any host would be lucky to have them. I can't recommend them highly enough. I'm very grateful for all they did here and would welcome them back anytime.

We had such a great time with you Marilen and Renske. We thank you so much for your Kind help, your openess towards us and our Lifestyle. .. :-) it felt so easy going, uncomplicated and in a way close because so nicely openhearted. We enjoyed your power, humor, dutch habits :-) and the way you are motivsted and liketo figure out things (except winning against us!) -We really like to welcome you again and listen to the stories of your trip..and we will take revenge, for sure;-), warm greetz from cold switzerland

Anastasia is very nice and wise person, we had some interesting conversations during her 2 weeks stayment, she likes heathy food and herbs, it was pleasure to host her.

I spent an excellent month aboard. This a good boat with an even better crew keeping her afloat. The promise (or warning) I was given on my first day proved true - there’s never a dull moment. It was exactly the adventure I was after, and i’m very grateful to have been welcomed in, shown the ropes, and joined the crew. It’s not an experience for everyone, but it was definitely the right place for me. Thanks Dave & I can’t wait to be back!

I have just completed 2 weeks with Brian and Barbara and I feel very happy but sad to leave! It was lovely to spend time with them, Brian is very humorous and Barbaras cooking is top notch! I enjoyed hearing about funny stories over dinner, spending time with the dogs / puppies and helping out on the finca. Thanks again for having me!

Highest recommendations to all hosts about Julien - this guy is EVERYTHING anyone would be looking for. The workawayr doesn't get better than this dude :) Julien is an active and wonderful young man who stayed in our family for over a month. He was tidy, hard working and super independent. He did all his chores well and happily, had wonderful ideas and was being proactive with all. He was musical, fun and super easygoing fellow and pampered us with his songs, playing, good stories and activities together such as climbing, visiting our school and of course bringing us the most wonderful maple syrup straight from Canada. We will miss you sooooo much - especially Otto to his new chess mate - but happily the games will continue online. Best of travels to you both and we'll make the basement apartment ready for you guys when you're done with your trip around the world. Tons of hugs from us all :)

Peter was incredibly helpful in helping around my home with cleaning and errands which made my chaotic busy life less stressful! He walked and fed my dog Whiskey while I was away in a long trip! He is very self-sufficient whenever I was busy. I hope he enjoyed the NYC culture during his stay! Thank you Peter for helping out when I really needed it!

I stayed at the hostel for a month and had such a great experience. The location is perfect and the staff are amazing and made the place feel like a real family. There were many other volunteers my age, which made the atmosphere super fun with lots of activities and shared moments. I was not ready to leave. Highly recommended to anyone coming to Santiago.

Ilaha helped our family for a week. We had plan for longer time together but since there were many personal things going on in her life, we decided together it wasn't maybe the best time for a workaway right now. As a worker Ilaha was very hard working and carefull. She was fluent with all households chores and helped us also with baking for school sales. She hadn't been working with dogs before but in this short time she learnt fast and did well with our dogs as well. She is talented and interested with languages and wonderful warm and honest personality. We wish you all the best and surely will meet again <3

I stayed with Dani, the dogs, and the horses for almost a month and had an amazing time. The nature is beautiful, the atmosphere is peaceful, and spending my days with the dogs was truly special. Even though I was the only volunteer at the time, Dani and everyone working there made me feel completely at home. I honestly didn’t want to leave and would have loved to take one of the dogs with me. This is a place I’ll never forget and one I would love to come back to in the future. Highly recommended.

We loved our stay with Krisztina, Huevo, Matilda, Chad and Yovi! The work was very fun, we love dogs and enjoyed our time with the dogs. They all have their own personalities which are very easy to love. The Lake is a beautiful spot to walk them, with plenty of spots for swims and adventures. The dogs are all well behaved and friendly. Other 'work' included collecting items and cooking the odd meal/ desert which we were happy to do. Our room was spacious and very comfortable, and the dinners we were provided with were absolutely delicious! We really enjoyed getting to know Krisztina and playing nightly card games, she is very generous and interesting. Overall, we loved our time here and would highly recommend! :-)

For your endless patience and helping me sort through and cataloging my art work and your help in the garden.... endless weeding and raking piles and piles of leaves! Also thank you for your help in the kitchen, scouting for ingredients and cooking the delicious Iranian meal and the savoury tarts! It's been a pleasure hosting you and I hope you will have many more Workaway adventures!
