  We are a married couple who live on a beautiful subtropical island near Brisbane overlooking the water. We enjoy nature and we have a relaxed lifestyle. We are very involved with the arts and social activities on the island. We can accommodate a single person or a couple. We would like assistance with our garden and home tasks and sometimes with our arts activities.

  There are many island activities where Workaways can join in such as clubs, music and art activities and social gatherings. Our lifestyle is relaxed with opportunities for kayaking, swimming and enjoying the natural bush environment. We are happy to share our knowledge of musical and visual arts and assist with English if needed. We are interested in different cultures and traditions and enjoy learning about other ways of life. Workawayers will be included in our daily life which is rich with activities on the island.

  Ajuda

  We are looking for help with gardening and household tasks. Sometimes we might need the house minded for a short period and we would appreciate another cook to help in our kitchen. We run an island choir and an island community band and organise events and rehearsals on the island and we always need some help with those.

  Acomodação

  We have a guest room with a double bed and guest toilet/bathroom so we can accommodate a single person or a couple. The house has two levels, a big verandah and a large garden backing directly onto the water. We can provide all meals with a cooked meal for dinner.

  Algo mais...

  We work part-time from home and have a little dog. Island life is quiet at night so we generally retire around 10.30pm. Smoking is outside only. Transport to the island is by ferry and we travel regularly to the mainland so depending on our schedule we might be able to do pick ups from Brisbane to the ferry and vice-versa to return to Brisbane. There is also public transport to and from the ferry by train and bus from Brisbane. We have two electric bikes you can borrow and we have an electric car for transport around the island. For your time off there is swimming, kayaking, fishing, cycling and bush walking as well as many island activities to enjoy such as arts, music, social groups, clubs and cafes. We are very close to three other islands which are great for half day or full day trips.
