Thank you Matteo for introducing me to such an incredible place. Seeing the turtles on the beach, going on a boat trip in the lagoon to admire the bioluminescence, and even building a sauna were unforgettable experiences that will definitely remain among the highlights of my trip to Mexico. Being able to work in the morning and then spend the afternoons swimming or surfing in this idyllic setting was simply magical. I am truly happy to have met you and to have been able to contribute, even a little, to your project. Thank you for your warm welcome, your passion, and these timeless moments.

I would like to warmly thank Irene and Bud for sharing their life, their daily routine, their friends, and their family with us. Spending Thanksgiving with you is a moment I will never forget during my travels. The work was excellent, clear, respectful, and enjoyable. Thank you again for this wonderful experience! What I really loved about this volunteering experience was having our own private cabin and kitchen. Being completely independent was a real plus! Working in the morning and having all afternoons free was also perfect.

We are so glad we went to stay with Joep and Julia! This was our first ever workaway, and it couldn’t have been better. The finca is absolutely stunning, our tent accommodation so comfortable and the communal kitchen and social area is brilliant. The breakfast they prepare for you is very generous, and very delicious! The work is exactly as described - practical and physical, and we loved learning many new skills. Joep and Julia are so generous with their knowledge and time, it was so inspiring to learn about all their projects, including the water management system, syntropic agroforestry and vermicomposting. The surrounding area and town of Barichara are amazing to explore, so there is plenty to do in your downtime - but just relaxing on the property and staring at the incredible views is equally nice! It really felt like being part of a little family for a time, especially with the campsite drawing in people from all walks of life - we met so many lovely people, there is something about this home that fosters such genuine and warm connections. Thank you Joep and Julia for such a wonderful week :)

I was lucky to host Sofi for a couple of weeks which turned out to be way too short... She is just the perfect workawayer. She's smart, willing to deal with whatever task I needed, found new things to do when I didn't give her any task, and did everything quickly and perfectly. Also, she found time to cook and to bake amazing desserts. She said she was improvising, but the results were always delicious (and beautiful, since she was always paying attention to presenting the food in a beautiful way, because food tastes always better when the look is nice). But if the first paragraph seems to be important describing her, the most important thing to say about her is that she is simply adorable. She understood perfectly the sense of community which I want to keep at home and became right away part of the "family". She is sweet and loving ,and I was always happy to come home from work knowing that she was going to be there. Now that she's gone, there is a big emptiness and void around... I miss her a lot! I wish you the best in your life, Sofi, and I hope to meet you again soon!!

We had such a wonderful month at Andrea's and Sorna's place. They have lovely playful children and the sweetest dog Maple. They take time to make sure you feel part of the family and we enjoyed good food and good company. There is so much to do around the area. We went to trivia nights, swimming, rainforest walks and just enjoy the town. We went to a play together and celebrated Sorna's birthday at the beach! We helped a bit with the kids and took care of the dog for a weekend but mostly worked on making and outside deck which was a good learning experience for all of us. We are greatfull for the lessons and the new skills. We won't forget this experience, thank you so much!

Edwige is an amazing person, she helped me so much. It was such quality time passed with her and her cats. The house is comfy, the ambiance is warm and the location is perfect for sea lovers.

Federico stepped into the garden with all his good mood and positive energy from day one. He spent three weeks here, and I really enjoyed hosting him. He was always very willing to do work and to help with whatever he could. The Danish autumn weather was never a problem for him, and he would always make sure the tasks were completed in a good way. He helped me with gardening and landscaping, and also constructing - for example a cover over my bicycles, and so much more. He is full of a good sense humor and he is a really nice person to hang out with. I so much enjoyed all our conversations and all the things we had in common. Hopefully he will some day make his way back to Denmark!

I was lucky enough to have the amazing Kazuki for over two months in my garden house. He was a great help to me with soooo many projects like painting the windows, building fences, constructing and landscaping paths, building a small staircase for my deck and so much more. He was good in the kitchen and always made sure the dishes were clean. He is very artistic and talented - he paints beautiful pictures, plays the piano like a dream, and he also has an amazing voice! 😉 On top of all that he has a personality, humor and attitude that makes him so fun to be around. We had a lot of memorable moments together - and all my friends and other guests just loved him! Originally he was only supposed to stay for a week, and was even supposed to arrive a month later than he did, but I am so glad that the small misunderstandings turned out to be so beneficial. Kazuki, you are welcome back anytime! I already miss having you here! 🤗

Rosie is a rare gem who could easily fly under the radar. She possesses a lovely self confidence, impressive artistic abilities, and a flexible can-do attitude to being a Workaway guest. It was delightful to host Rosie. She worked in our yard, weeding thistles, helping me erect a garden fence, raking, and wheel-barrowing tirelessly. Those jobs were an under-utilisation of her considerable aesthetic talents. Conversations with Rosie were delightful and she was always respectful. I highly recommend her to other hosts.

Dear Olha, I feel so lucky to have met you. We spent a few weeks with you and your lovely daughter Stella, and we did so much together. Stella is so sweet! We cooked and hosted various cultural events, and of course, we played at weddings. You brought order to my life on the farm. You cleaned up the mess, and I'll continue on your path, like sorting the trash. 🙂 You're so talented and intelligent. I hope you make your dreams come true. See you... Jeremie joined us later. He gets up early and starts the day. He's a hard worker and has given me some great ideas. Thank you... With love, Mustafa

This was my first Workaway experience, and I was fortunate enough to spend it with Zead, his brothers, and the whole Bedouin family in the desert of Wadi Rum. I stayed for almost two weeks with Zead at his brothers’ camp, and everyone was incredibly welcoming, treating me like family from the very beginning. As a solo female traveler, I felt absolutely safe at all times. Their friendship and hospitality were truly exceptional. I helped with various tasks in and around the camp. This included collecting firewood to prepare traditional food and Bedouin tea, assisting the chef with cooking (my favorite task!), helping during breakfast and dinner, supporting tourists in the camp and on tours, and taking care of the camp and the animals living there. They really don’t ask for much help. In return, I had plenty of time to enjoy the desert through several jeep tours, hiking on my own, bouldering and climbing, visiting Zead’s uncle who lives a nomadic life in the desert, and learning so much about traditional and modern Bedouin life. There is plenty of time to chat with international guests, enjoy the view of the stars and the silence of the desert. I highly recommend this place and Zead as a host to anyone seeking a truly unique experience!

English: I cant reccomed enough. Paradise. Project is beautiful and the ideas have loads of potential. Such a lovely community feeling with many different people coming and going all the time. The place is in the middle of the nowhere which is so beautiful and theres no bounds to where you can walk or swim! Lots of helping in the huerta and the kitchen for some of the retreats they do! Able to sleep near the stream in the forest or in the domes when theyre free but everything is very easy and flexible. Come and help if you can, i will for sure be back.

Dear Ekaterina, it was great meeting you. You're so kind, helpful, and resourceful. You can even use hand tools like a drill. You've always supported me and been there for me in everything I've done. Thank you for the meals you made. It was usually just the two of us at the farm, and even though you didn't eat breakfast, you made spicy Melemen for me. 🙂 It's so nice that you're so cheerful and friendly. We were never bored when we were together. We worked, rode around in tuk-tuks, and played games. Also, thank you for the landscaping you did. I hope we see each other again. Or maybe we'll travel. 🙂 With love, your family in Türkiye 🙂

What an incredible month I had! I wish that I hadn’t made plans for after so I could have stayed for longer. It was my first Workaway so I wasn’t quite sure what to expect, but it was truly incredible! It was touching to be able to take part in such meaningful work , to bond with the team and the other volunteers and to spend so much time with the beautiful dogs. In terms of the experience living in the house and the daily tasks, everything was really well organised. You know what work needs to be done, you have free time to explore the area or stay and play with the dogs, basic food is provided, as described, which is such a huge bonus. The team are always looking out for you, so you feel really well supported. The profile is accurate and there is a wide range of work that can be done, which can also depend on what is going on in the HQ/neighbourhood/which dogs are in their care/etc. You may have some days which are much more relaxed, or you may have some days where you are out most of the time, going to a vet appointment or to the airport, it changes on a daily basis. I would definitely recommend this as a workaway, and feel spoiled that this was my first one! Having been to others now, I can appreciate even more just how lucky I was to have spent the month with the team. The other volunteers I stayed with for the month have become such good friends of mine, and I think that most of the people that are drawn to volunteer here will have a lot in common, so you will be in great company! It is going to be difficult for me to find another experience as good as this, thank you so much and I hope to see you all again soon!

Hello! I spent the best and most wonderful week of my trip with Ania. She's a kind, lively, and cheerful woman, full of positive energy, and she can cheer you up no matter how sad you are. Unfortunately, from the very first day, she was full of energy, enthusiasm, and a beautiful smile. Ania and I created a fun atmosphere with jokes and laughter. I only stayed for a week, and her family was very kind. I wished I could have stayed longer, but I couldn't because I had to return home. Thank you, Ania, and I hope we meet again.

Kasauli won my heart in this amazing farm/hotel/artistcommunity that this family hosts... I enjoyed learning about plants and nature with Venita, playing with the dog Pesto and the cat Tamatar and sharing music and art with Veda and all of their friends... the food was amazing and natural, my room made me feel like a queen and the vibes incomparable :) I recommend this place if you are an artist and like chilling life in the nature with animals, plants and lots of music!

I wanted to add my voice to the chorus of glowing positive feedback for this workaway. I spent just under a month at the Almazara and as a veteran of a few Workaways I can safely say that this is one of the best. Living in a cave might seem unconventional but the space is so comfortable that you immediately feel at home, it's warm when it's cold outside and cool when it's hot, you beginto understand why Baza is largely cave-dwelling. The food is always healthy and delicious, Clare, Frank, and Chilli ensure you will never go hungry, and sitting down with the family for lunch or the odd "bed time lunch" is a highlight of each day. They have 6 dogs and 2 donks who would love to make your acquaintance! Bacor has stunning miradores and a great bar where you can hone your futbolin skills. Sam often goes to Baza & Guadix on weekends for mercadillos so make sure you take him up if he offers you a lift. The work is great for people who have little experience working in the Campo, Noé is incredibly knowledgeable and passionate about his work and will gladly show you the ropes. Occasionally the work was a little bit unstructured but I think this was due to it being hectic trying to juggle volunteers and la burocracia Andaluza. The land is beautiful, Clare and Noé have a different approach to olive farming which prioritizes sustainability. Other work to olives; Weeding, collecting veg, feeding donks, cutting & carrying leña, fixing fences, etc. The family is always looking for new ways to expand and improve so I am sure you will get plenty of opportunities to do a variety of jobs. A few more recs: - Los baños de Zujar with Clare - Sit down and chat with Frank, he is a fountain of stories and knowledge - Visit Grana, (45 min bus from Guadix) - Hike or hitchhike to some of the surrounding villages This is a special place run by a special family who I will definitely try and revisit someday. Thank you Clare, Frank, Chilli, Sam, Noé, Ann, Suzi and, of course, Oscar!

I stayed at Hugh’s house for two weeks this November. This has been my first Workaway experience. Hugh is a very kind host and really made me feel at home. During the first week, I also met another Workawayer who had already been there for a few days, which was a pleasant surprise and it was really nice to meet him. Hugh provides three meals a day. I really enjoyed the dinners he cooked, they were delicious! On our days off, he offered to drive us to nearby villages to visit them. On the day I arrived and the day I left, he kindly drove me to Durrow/Abbeyleix to catch the bus. The work during the first week mainly consisted of harvesting apples to make juice or cider. It was very interesting to take part in the whole process, and I learned a lot. On the other days, I did a variety of tasks both indoors and outdoors. I also learned many interesting things about Ireland, and I had the chance to practice and improve my English. If you enjoy the countryside, nature, and relaxing by the fireplace, this is the perfect place for you. I am very grateful for the experience and I take with me wonderful memories of my first days in Ireland. Thanks for everything, Hugh!!! I truly appreciate it :)
