Happy to be leaving a feedback for Sumner; he was eminently helpful and supportive, and we got to know each other rather well—the latter being something I cannot say for all Workawayers or others who pass through the house. For Workawayers, we generally value curiosity (esp. the desire to learn skills), the ability to get along with others (ability to live in shared spaces and get along), and the ability to communicate (especially if they feel over or underutilized and if they have needs we don't perceive). Sumner was direct and well-informed, but also friendly. That's a great combination when you want to get something done. He taught me a fair few things and I hope that our connection continues over the years as he returns to Japan now and again. Plus, his experience in communal living was clearly of value in keeping the peace around the house.

Maja was a great volunteer. Very helpful with promoting out tours and also involved with playing with kids. She is very knowledgeable and keen to learn about other cultures. I strongly recommend her to other hosts. All the best with your journey.

The experience with Agustin and Sylvie was super. We spent great days with them, learning a huge number of things, tasting great dishes and chilling together with interesting talks and cultural exchange. The location was comfortable and embedded in a natural place; we had a lot of fun and hard work during the days together. We really appreciate their kindness with us. We absolutely recommend their place work a wonderful Workaway experience.

Charlotte was a great guest in our family. She helped a lot with new ideas to promote our tours and besides that she was very involved with all daily activities. We are very grateful for all her time she spend with us. She also did a few days tour with me where she was very keen to learn about Moroccan culture and landscapes. I strongly recommend her to any host. Thank you for visiting and hope to see you again someday.

During the time we shared with Stefano, he was very attentive and willing to show me around this beautiful place, being in the middle of the forest filled me with peace and tranquility. The house is in a beautiful area where we were able to pick mushrooms and enjoy the fresh air I felt very welcomed and enjoyed being with the animals and taking care of the house, for people who like to be surrounded by nature, this is a great place to enjoy the silence and the forest.

Very pleased to be leaving Mai's first feedback on Workaway, and it is positive without qualification. We were super happy to be supporting someone with Japanese heritage coming back to Japan (and will continue to do so!), and Mai in turn was incredibly helpful and thoughtful. Mai was great at all of this, and on top of that was able to both drive and speak Japanese, which are two HUGE elements that normally end up at my feet. She's a hell of a good kid and we were glad to have her, and look forward to her learning and growing and becoming a whole awesome person.

Me and my sister spend 6 days at Rainers place. The working conditions were really good, and the accomodation was totally fine as well. We got freshly cooked meals every day and he also drove us to some nice beaches with the car. We spend a lot of time together but unfortunately he made some weird comments that made us feel uncomfortable as young girls.

I had a wonderful experience staying with Brahim and his family! They were incredibly hospitable and welcoming from the moment I arrived. I helped around the house with some cleaning, and every day we enjoyed delicious fresh bread and Moroccan meals. Brahim is very knowledgeable, and if you’re looking for a tour around the desert, he’s the perfect guide! Unfortunately, I could only stay for a few days because of my tight schedule, but I truly enjoyed my time there. Shukran, Brahim!

Louisa war 14 Tage bei uns, in denen sie viele verschiedene Arbeiten erledigen konnte. Sie war sehr aufmerksam, engagiert und hat viel mehr gemacht als sie hätte machen müssen! Alle ihr anvertrauten Tätigkeiten wurden zu unserer vollsten Zufriedenheit erledigt. Ihr Tätigkeitsfeld umfasste die Versorgung der Tiere (füttern, Ställe ausmisten) sowie Gartenarbeiten. Sie malerte die Ställe von aussen wie ein Profi 😁 wir danken ihr für ihre tolle Hilfe und Engagement.

I had planned to stay for 2 1/2 weeks but left after two days due to a family emergency, but was very relieved to leave that early. Christine is a nice lady and her cooking was great! We had lots of free time and the chores consist of household chores and helping Lawrence in the yard, which was nice even though he seemed very disinterested in us but we also didn’t stay with them long enough to tell properly. The living conditions were not what I expected, as the house was cluttered, dirty and one of the spaces for volunteers is a basement without windows and no door. The room the other workawayer and I stayed in, was full of boxes, other stuff and I found lots of human hair in my bed that wasn't mine. We also didn't have the best experience with the dogs since one bit the other workawayer shortly after our arrival. We were also very concerned with the welfare of the horses. They were very neglected and not in suitable condition for riding as the listing suggested. Their hooves were overgrown, split and one of the horses was visibly wounded. Important information about the dogs behaviour #redacted# was only shared on the day of arrival, when we were already travelling to their property. Overall, this was not the experience I expected at all and I can't recommend this place to future workawayers. Feel free to contact me :)

Luna is a really lovely young lady! She came to us as a 'last minute' workawayer and we are so glad she did! Luna was keen to get into some nature... And gosh, Tasmania turned on a bit of interesting weather for her 😂 She was so good natured about getting out in the wet and crazy weather and helping out. And was equally excellent at helping me with more craft and cooking based tasks. We got heaps of jobs done, and also found time and weather breaks to enjoy some excellent walks too. Luna was willing to go with the flow... One minute we were hauling wood about, the next enjoying the fireside with the cats! Despite the weather, Luna has said she wants to return (in summer haha) and we would have her back in a heartbeat! We wish her final semester of study to go well and hope to see her again in the future!

Insa stayed with us for 6 weeks in the autumn of 2025. We really enjoyed having her here. She is a good rider and had the possibility to ride several of our horses. Insa is a helpful person who can work independently. She is easy to have around, both in the stable and in the house. She helped with the horses (feeding, mucking stables, giving medication and exercising them) without complaining, even on those days when there was a lot of work and/or the weather was horrible (with rain and lots of mud). Insa also helped with tasks around the house, like the yearly 'house wash' (meaning, you wash the outside of the house, with a water hose and brush), vacuum cleaning, dusting and washing windows. She is a nice person to have around the house, quiet, polite and respectful of our house rules. And she can entertain herself on the days where there is little to do. We wish her all the best with her further studies and, of course, with her riding career! :)

I've had the best time in Sri Lanka thanks to James and his hostel, he's such a nice, interesting and chill person I really enjoyed my time with him. I never had a problem with him, and the other staff members are also such good and sweet people. I met so many nice people while being a social host there and I really enjoyed my work. Also the benefits are very good. And you have a lot of flexibility. Thanks a lot for the opportunity and for all the great memories I'll bring with me!

Lina stayed with us for a month in the autumn of 2025. She is a friendly and intelligent person - somebody who understands that even 'simple' tasks may require some thinking. :) She helped with the horses (feeding, cleaning the paddocks/stable, moving them to different places and putting on/taking off blankets). She also helped with various tasks around the house and farm, like vacuum cleaning, helping in the garden and walking the dog. Lina does everything with a consistent good humor. She works independently, and there is no need to check if the work is done or done the right way - she will do it right the first time. Lina also takes responsibility for tasks that require some checking, such as filling water for the horses. (As regards the water: Lina actually trained as a volunteer firefighter, so your water hoses will be rolled up very neatly! :) She also was very patient with our escaping animals, especially our little pony, Caramel. She caught him every day to give him his daily medication, without complaining if she had to chase him all around the farm. Also, although she is not very tall, she did all work without any problems (even the heavier physical work, such as cleaning the stables) and to a good standard. Even in the most horrible of Norwegian autumn weather (rain and deep mud). Lina is also a pleasure to have as a guest in your house. She is quiet, discreet, cleans up after herself in the kitchen, and liked everything we served for dinner. :) We enjoyed having her as our guest, and can highly recommend her to other Workaway hosts. We wish her all the best for her further studies and she is more than welcome to visit us again.

We found a lot of quiet and serenity in your place and the area around it 🌄 You treat your volunteers with such respect and care — it was truly a pleasure to meet you and the other amazing volunteers. The farm was my 1st workaway and it was an amazing experience, the entire team working with us is really nice, the food is delicious (thank Desta and Emi❤️), the accommodation is clean and living in the farm is very relaxing. As for the work it is simple but still very interesting, thanks to Barir, the farm manager, who is very passionate about permaculture and shares it with the rest of the volunteers. Thanks to everyone from the farm for the great memories I've made there !❤️

It was such a delight to have Nasrin with us for about a week! We really appreciated and tuned in very fast with her soft & candid nature. Nasrin is very open, curious and likes to be helping with everything needed. We loved hearing also about her life experiences, and her grave and sensitive character will make you feel always at ease. One may easily fall in exchanging profound & fulfilling conversation with her for hours, if one does not have a clock at hand :) We wish great luck to Nasrin and we are looking very forward for her visit again in the future. All the best! :)

We spent 10 days with Marina and Wolfgang and it was really great. We were able to see and participate in the entire olive oil making process, which was very informative. Marina is a great person, attentive and a perfect cook. Always attentive to our needs, she didn't hesitate to adapt her schedule so that we could enjoy our stay. Wolfgang was injured at that time, but that didn't stop him from helping us as best he could with the olive harvest and sharing his good humor with us. We also had the opportunity to meet their family and friends, who are all as kind as they are. The little house made available to us is very cute and comfortable with a breathtaking view of the sea and absolute tranquility (our only neighbors were olive trees!) We highly recommend helping this wonderful family, you won't regret it! Thank you for everything and we look forward to seeing you again!
