It was great to slow down at Rainer's place. It was a really chilled out experience, we helped out in the workshop by making some frames and racks for use in the print making studio. We did 3 hours of work in the morning for 5 of our seven days. The rest of our time we spent exploring the beautiful nearby river and tayrona national park. As people had mentioned the road is noisy, but you get used to it. We bought food to cook from a supermarket en route, but there is a nearby town where you can get essential food bits. Also, on site a lovely couple occasionally did pop up food (mostly dinner, but sometimes lunch and breakfast) which was lovely and very reasonably priced. Thanks Rainer!!

I had the pleasure of staying with Jenni, Pol, Mai, Juan, and Atu for a little over two months. They are a wonderful family who always made me feel at home and wanted to share pieces of Argentina while I shared bits of the U.S. The kids are fun, smart, and full of energy — it was a joy to play with them and feel like a kid again myself! My day-to-day comprised of taking their cute dog, Jimbo, on a short walk in the morning, then spending most of the day taking Spanish classes or exploring Buenos Aires. In the afternoons, I would play with the kids and eat dinner with the family. Jenni and Pol were very flexible if I had things I wanted to do on some evenings and had lots of cultural recommendations to share. The house is in a great part of the city. It has high connectivity with buses, bike lanes, the train, and the subway all being extremely close. I found it very nice to enjoy the tranquility of the neighborhood while still being 10-30 minutes away from the heart of everything. It also came as a surprise to me how safe I felt in the neighborhood, Villa Urquiza, at night. Overall, I highly recommend a stay with this amazing family! They are very generous and fun — I am so grateful for my time with them!

It was a pleasure to host Victoria through Workaway. She was enthusiastic and reliable, helping out in the garden, kitchen, and farm. She was also lovely with our daughter — no surprise given her background as a teacher. We really appreciated her warmth and positive energy during her stay. Enjoy the rest of your travels through Adelaide and New Zealand before heading back home to Canada. Congratulations on your graduation! We’d love to visit your family farm one day — safe travels and keep in touch!

Where do I even begin. My plan to stay in Khajuraho was only for 3-4 Days max but I ended up staying for 3 Weeks. Prashant Bro staying with you was one of the most heartwarming parts of my journey so far. We started pretty formally but as time went by it turned into a deep friendship. Our late night cooking experiments on terrace kitchen, meaningful conversations about spirituality and learning content creation. Thank you for opening your home and heart to me. Whether it was exploring the hidden corners of Khajuraho, exchanging ideas about creativity and life, or just sitting in silence every moment felt real, grounding, and unforgettable. I’m grateful for your kindness and your genuine spirit. I’ll carry our memories forward as I continue this journey across India. We'll meet soon again Brother. Till then, wishing you peace, growth, and all the joy you so easily give to others ! Good Luck !

I stayed at Ken's farm this summer with my 15-year-old daughter. We loved camping on his farm. Ken is generous and very patient when it comes to speaking English to us. It was one of our goals to improve our English, and he was very helpful (we're French speakers). He's welcoming and not at all demanding. His dog is very funny, even though I don't like dog! The birds are singing non-stop and there is a magnificent firefly show, the nature is wonderful at this place. Thank you for all :)

I had a great time in Claudia and Volker's finca. They have a very special and beautiful place where you can enjoy the beauty of the mountains, the ocean and the forest at the same time. The place is very calm and you can feel very peaceful there. Claudia and Volker are very nice and kind , always willing to help with everything I needed, and I felt very welcome from the very first moment in their home. The accommodation is fabulous. The wooden house it's very cozy and it had everything I needed for my daily life and even more.Everything was very clean and tidy and you can tell they care about small details and try to make you comfortable there.I also had a lot of privacy ,that I really appreciated, and I was able to be by myself and enjoy the beautiful meadow by the wooden house with stunning views of the ocean and one of the best sunsets you can see, to chill, do some yoga, reading, meditate... and where I also had cats visiting most mornings and evenings. The cats were extremely cute, and seeing them play around or just relaxing there was lovely. The work was easy and clear. Tasks were mainly about gardening and some maintenance around the wooden house.Every morning, they told me what should be done for a day or two, and I organized my time and worked on my own to complete the tasks. The communication was always good and relaxed, and they were very grateful and made me feel good about my work. You can tell they put a lot of effort and love in their place and their gardens, so contributing to that was very nice for me. I had a lot of free time for myself after work and weekends to chill or explore the beautiful island of La Palma. I truly recommend their place, and I am really happy for them that the swimming pool project was complete! Claudia and Volker, thanks again for having me there. It was a pleasure to meet you both, and I hope we can meet again soon! Sending you a big hug.

Athir is such a nice guy, and his farm is in the perfect spot. We ate so much, hung out in the forest and at the beach, played games, and in the evenings, Athir and his friends jammed some amazing music for us. It honestly felt more like fun than work. It was also super cool meeting Workawayers from different countries. I learned a lot in just a few days.

I spent three weeks in Tobøl during the month of July and it went by very quickly. That's a sign that I had a great time and I couldn't be happier with my experience there. It was my first workaway experience and I was lucky to do it with Hans Olaf and the other volunteers of whom I have very good memories. Together we created a family out of nothing. We ate and lived together, we shared the tasks and everything was easy and fun. Peyo, if you are reading this know that I love you, you have been my brother for those three weeks and I thank Hans Olaf for making it possible. See you soon petite m... The tasks to be done were not very hard. Also, Hans Olaf took the time to teach you how to do it properly and adapt the work to your capacities, which made the work more enjoyable. I have learned a thousand things like mowing, raking, painting, feeding the cows and the hens (and the cute turkeys too). Although it's not hard, you must have a work mentality. In general, I have learned what life on a sustainable farm is like. In addition, I had more than enough time for hiking, sports, swimming and fishing in the lake. It is a beautiful landscape worth visiting and enjoying. We met Hans Olaf's parents, Sigurd and Solveig, the big bosses. We got to know part of the Norwegian culture and tasted typical Norwegian food. I loved the moose meatballs. Although at the beginning it was a bit difficult to communicate with them as they only speak Norwegian, we made the effort to learn some words, and it was so funny to behave like parrots. Finally, Hans Olaf has been the perfect host. He teaches you new things with patience, makes an effort to make you feel comfortable and is very communicative, so if you have any doubts or problems, don't hesitate to talk to him. In my case, my level of English didn´t allow me to understand some things, but he tried to explain things clearly so that we could all understand. Besides, we not only worked together, but we lived together and spent a very good time as friends, having ice cream, going for groceries to KiwiMarket and trying to find moose in the forest. I totally reccomend the exprience with Hans Olaf. In fact, I'd like to come back one day (and pick up my jacket haha). Takk for alt, HO, you will be always in my heart <3

My stay with Valentina was really exciting, as this was both my and her first Workaway experience. I felt really welcome and comfortable, they live a really chill and beautiful life. I loved hanging out with her daughter, who is such an amazing girl and so much fun. The cat and dog are really cute as well, just be sure to never let the dog off the leash when outside, as she loves to run away! The balance between work and hospitality was more than fair and left me with a lot of freedom. It was really amazing that she let me use her car, gave me so many tips on where the best spots at the lake and to shop are, and I even got to drive the quad which was so fun. At the second week of my stay, some relatives of hers also came to visit, which I knew about, and I had such a good time with all of them <3 Thank you for letting me be part of your family and life for these two weeks. I will always remember these great experiences I made and lovely people I met!

Since the first day I arrived in this place I felt very good. The country is very beautiful and despite being only 20 minutes by train from the city of Lausanne, it feels like to be in another world. From the First day the family welcomed me as if we had known each other for years. Personally, I've never met people so happy, kind, and generous before. It was wonderful to take care of the animals, the house, and the garden, and especially to eat fresh, quality food. It's only been two weeks, but I already miss so much being there. Thank you so much for the good times we had together and for give the opportunity to have this experience. ✿ ✿ ✿

I stayed with DC, Krista and their wonderful family for around 3 weeks this summer as my first work away experience. Looking to immigrate to the Netherlands within the next couple of years I was looking for a family that could support cultural exchange and infiltration , which they facilitated perfectly. I had such an amazing experience staying with them and found that we all bonded quickly and strongly which made my first solo travel experience anxiety free. I was able to use my free time to explore local cities , go for bike rides, and enjoy activities with the kids too. I can’t properly put into words how valuable this experience was and I hope to return soon. Dankjewel ❤️

Thank you so much for the wonderful time at this place. This beautiful place in the middle of nature was the perfect setting to learn, meet lovely people, and enjoy a truly special experience. I learned a lot and a lot of fun. It took me some time to get used to everything but after the first days I felt very god. The work was enjoyable, never too demanding, and always manageable. Diego is a warm and welcoming host who is always there to help if you need anything. I especially loved the little waterfall we used for showering – such a refreshing experience! After work and a short permaculture lesson, there was plenty of time to read, do yoga, relax, go for walks, and do what ever you want to do. Since we were a larger group, there was always something to do in the kitchen, but I really enjoyed the cooking and the time together. Warm regards!

It was a pleasure to host Marie, she`s a very considered, polite, friendly and happy person, always ready to help in and out of the house. We cut trees together on our property, mowed the lawn, cleared brush, painted furniture and a deck and cooked and bbqed together, always with a smile and lots of enthusiasm. We wish her all the very best for the future and happy travels.

Reza and Zahra were both excellent community members and workers at the Center. They were eager to learn new skills and put in hard work with the various projects we have going on around the property. They were very social too and made a positive impact on everyone here.

A beautiful place immersed in 360° nature. Angela and Kyle are two fantastic people who taught me so much about the place, its animals, and its plants. Every day was a little adventure. They are two fantastic chefs, and I finally tasted authentic Canadian cuisine, as well as cuisine from other parts of the world. They did everything they could to make me feel at ease, despite my poor English, and they also showed me around. Thank you for this wonderful experience, and I hope to meet you again someday!

I stayed with Ms. Lya and Mr. Okky in their beautiful home in Jogja. Each morning, I took care of the garden accompanied by their adorable dog, Poky, and spent the rest of the day exploring Jogja. Ms. Lya and Mr. Okky kindly recommended places to visit and local foods to try. I'm grateful for their warm company, the lovely conversations, the people they introduced me to, and the tasty local treats they shared. Their home is peaceful and comfortable. During my stay, I was able to rest and recharge after a long traveling journey. Thank you so much, Ms. Lya and Mr. Okky, for hosting me! I hope we meet again.

I had a fantastic experience volunteering at Diego and Laura's surf school / hostel in Huanchaco! I mainly had to help out in the surf shop and support with small tasks in the hostel during 4h a day in exchange for accomodation. Huanchaco is a lively town with consistent surf all year round. People in Huanchaco are super chill. I loved the community out in the water and in the town. Everybody is really friendly and the locals are sometimes even cheering for you if you catch a wave. Diego and Laura are super nice. Diego invited me to play football with his friends one night, which was a lot of fun, and one Saturday they organised a lunch with loads of fresh Peruvian seafood dishes prepared by Diego's dad, who worked as a chef for many years, for hostel guests and volunteers - incredible! I can highly recommend this workaway opportunity!

Camille was a pleasure to host! She is such a great person and hard worker with a strong emotional intelligence and willingness to try new things and absorb ideas and perspectives that challenge her own. We had quite a bit of physical work to be done, moving hundreds of kilos of stones from the upper part of the farm to the parking area. Camille always had a "let's go" attitude which was really nice! Camille also helped a lot in the garden, weeding, pruning, and harvesting. Camille also spent a good amount of time with Lotte's brother's kids who just loved her so much, she is SO nice with kids! She loves to play and she's a fantastic artist; she repaired the art of a damaged sun chair we have, it's beautiful! Camille was also very help in the kitchen not just learning from Lotte, but helping to prepare meals and clean up after. She didn't need to be managed in any way, she took initiative and when necessary, asked questions. Superb. Spending time was also equally effortless. Camille is laid back and easy going, always up for an interesting exchange or to joke around and poke a bit of good fun. We went to nice local Portuguese festivals, visited friends for meals, went out to eat together, always sharing nice experiences and memories. We were lucky to have a last minute arrival of Hannah while Camille was here which was great because those two were like two pees in a pot. The balance of the whole house was as good as you can possibly ask for. If Camille asked to come back as a volunteer, or as a friend, we'd be happy to welcome her. If she's requesting to stay with you, we strongly recommend hosting Camille :)

Mario was a wonderful host. He has a beautiful place within walking distance of Ponte de Lima. Whether we were sharing stories over home cooked meals or chopping trees, I enjoyed every moment. The dogs and chickens were also a highlight. Thanks Mario!

I volunteered with Okta and his family in Blawong village. Okta is a kind and openminded person, and I had many interesting conversations with him about cultural and religious differences. I taught English at the kindergarten and the Christian school, and Arabic at the Islamic school. I was happy that my lessons were useful and that the kids were enthusiastic, especially since the schools don’t have English or Arabic teachers. When there were no activities in the village, Mr. Okta introduced me to other teachers in Temanggung so I could volunteer with them as well. The village is very calm and simple, located in the mountains. Okta introduced me to the village leader and the local community, who welcomed me warmly. Despite the language barrier, I was able to have many pleasant conversations with them. We also joined them once for coffee harvesting. Thank you for hosting me, Okta.
