Thank you so much for the 2 weeks you spent with us, Eden. You were a big help for us. We really enjoyed the perfect 'team' you formed with the two other volunteers. Thank you for your discretion and the respect of our life. And for all kinds of work so well done, with simplicity and joy, and always doing everything the best way you could, leaving everything cleaned up - well, doing everything 'until the end'. It was great to have you here - you were the best volunteers we ever hai with Amanda and Kieley!

This was our first workaway experience, we didn't know what to expect but we had a wonderful experience with Duncan, Tanya, Zeb and Lola. From the moment we arrived they made us all feel at home, what was expected was all agreed before hand on a video call. We didn't intend to stay as long as we did but found it hard to leave! We highly recommend considering a workaway here and hopefully we will return as workaways and good friends.

My husband and I stayed 1 week with Sebastian! While we were there the coffee farm was still abandoned, however he said he was looking to revive the coffee plants soon so I am not sure if there is more work with the coffee process now. Most of our duties included watering fruit trees in the front yard and processing honey. I would recommend this place if you are traveling and need a break in beautiful nature. You can hike 30-40 minutes to a perfect secluded river. Sebastian is also a super nice and chill guy and we still keep in contact months after our stay. I’m sure if you speak better Spanish than us you would be able to get to know him even better to be able to talk about spirituality ect. But even if you don’t speak much Spanish, basic Spanish is ok you can still have laugh together and he will help teach you Spanish. It was only us and Sebastian at the farm, it would have been possible to accommodate one other person at the same time but it is better to just have your group. This is the right work away for you if: -you are looking for a tranquil stay in the mountains away from everything -you are interested in learning about bee keeping -you like to relax, smoke, meditate, and live very slowly -you enjoy spending lots of time cooking healthy and vegetarian food -you want a space to do art -you are ok with very basic accommodations and amenities -you are wanting to practice Spanish Might not be the right work away for you if: -you require a lot of structure -you need lots of activities/work to fill your day with -if you are looking to learn a lot about farming

This hidden gem, surrounded by the jungle is a perfect place to regenerate and re-connect with yourself and nature. The food at the restaurant is amazing (the portions are not too small!!), great cocktails and snacks, and the staff is super welcoming. They are very responsive online and offer also great activities inside (spanish school, yoga, salsa) and outside of the hotel (hikes, tubing…). Also the cabaña where we stayed was lovely and clean, enough spacious for a couple, and we were happy to receive a discount because we were volunteering. During the work in the huerta we really learned a lot about permaculture and organic farming! Would highly recommend ☺️

It was great to have Shae here helping. She is a lovely young woman who is very easy to have around. She tackled all the things I asked of her with enthusiasm and was very competent in all she did. Due to a family emergency I had to make an unexpected trip back to Scotland during her stay and she was happy to be left in house and animal sitting mode. I was more than delighted with all she did while I was away and would definitely recommend Shae to any host she contacts.

¡Hola!

oof…. I don’t even know where to start… what a wonderful time I had in Oregon! I stayed with Bonnie and Walt for two weeks in Wilsonville. I stayed in a fully equipped RV on the property which gave me a lot of privacy and quiet. Though I wasn’t in the house with them and cooked my own food, I didn’t feel excluded at all and had time to get to know them during the day. My work consisted of working in the garden at first. I then started working in the stables (feedings and general maintenance) because I showed interest in it and another workawayer, Jasmine, was kind enough to train me and show me the protocols. Working around the stables gives you a lot of autonomy and routine, which I really loved. The horses (around 10) are incredibly kind and generous. The place is run by volunteers so everyone is really passionate about horses and their well-being! Bonnie also has a dog and cat that are incredibly sweet too. We went on a couple day trips around Oregon and Bonnie taught us so many things about the region she calls home and loves so much! She has so many great stories to tell and it’s wonderful to listen to her wisdom too. We often had movie nights which was great too! If I had something to change, I would stay for longer. I thought that two weeks was a little too short to learn all the protocols and the way to handle horses (which is really specific to this place). Thank you so much for your hospitality and sweet gestures throughout my stay. You made this trip so special, you and your family and volunteers and animals. I will cherish the memories I made at your home for a long long time! MERCI <3

Very nice two weeks stay in Marriane and Timothy's place in Andalousia. Nice caravan and outdoor kitchen with all we needed. Marriane is very very kind, always asking if we need anything, always smiling even in difficulties and we enjoyed a lot our talks around a bottle of wine. Tasks were varied, many things to do in their wonderful terrasses land, repairing, cleaning, gardening,building... You will always find something for you to do. The surroundings are nice to go walking not far from the coast. They always can drop you to a beach time or market experience in Almunecar wich is a beautiful city to visit. Thanks for the experience.

My time in Arnaudville was so special and memorable. I stayed at Yvonne’s for three weeks in April with a friend of mine. Yvonne is a very sweet woman who grew up in Louisiana and is eager to share her love for her culture with anyone who will listen. We went on multiple day trips around the region and learned so many things. The house is full of memories from the past and the garden and porches are incredibly pretty. It was wonderful to be able to stay there in the spring; it truly was the perfect weather. My friend and I mainly worked in the garden : we planted some flowers and vegetables but also helped maintaining the property by weeding and cleaning up branches etc. We would usually work in the morning because it did get hot in the afternoons. We also loved cooking so we were in charge of making food for when her friends and family would come over for supper. It was wonderful to meet them all, they were all incredibly kind and open minded. Thank you Yvonne for your warm welcome, your wisdom and treating us like family. I had a wonderful time exploring Louisiana with you!

It is rare to have a workawayer as skillful and productive as Adam. Curious and inquisitive. Humble and kind. We sincerely hope to see him again.

Our time with Diana and Luis was truly unforgettable. They are an exceptionally warm and generous couple who made our stay in their home incredibly pleasant. Their compassion was evident from the moment we arrived, and we never felt pressured to work beyond our capacity; if anything, they encouraged us to take breaks and enjoy the experience. Diana's culinary skills are exceptional, ensuring we were always well-fed and energized, while Luis's passion and expertise in their project were truly inspiring. Our stay was both enjoyable and memorable, and I'm eagerly looking forward to witnessing the progress of their project in the future.

I stayed with Rov for 3 weeks in Baku. Spent most of my time gardening in the sun with a little bit of cleaning. Helped for about 6 hours a day, 3-4 times a week. The rooms were good, clean. There is no personal kitchen, but Rov let me use his facilities as my own. Rov is a very friendly host and we went out most nights to meet new people and watch the football. The location is not centre Baku, but it is very cheap to get around the city, 3AZN uber to centre or 1AZN metro.

Lena & Vici were truly wonderful to have around! They were easy going, quiet, respectful, and were great at learning new skills. They were able to follow our farm care instructions with ease and manage their time well. They were amazing with the animals and handled them with care. It was very lovely to leave the homestead in their hands knowing everything will be taken care of when we had to go away. You are both welcome back anytime and we were happy to meet you!

It was my first workaway, ...I was very curious. I'm in pension and love to travel and try to meet people to have a lot of conversations and experiences. I'm sure that Workaway is an ideal way to meet my needs, of course a lot depends on the work and the host(s). I think I hit the bull's eye from the first time with my hosts and work. Not only were Annabelle and Phaon perfect, but the accommodation/foods and surroundings were also perfect. The work we discussed together was really something for me as a technician/engineer. I helped independently and we discussed the needs and possibilities. The hours were very flexible, sometimes a little more and the next day a little less depending on the weather, type of tasks and the desire. What else do you want .... We share some very nice dinners together and we had good and interesting conversations. Phaon regularly took me out to enjoy his hobbies,I was over the moon....(?) and we talked and talked....Thank you so much . I stayed with Annabelle and Phaon for a 6 weeks, and it was amazing! Their place is the perfect place to be and made me feel at home . Together we made my first workaway experience successful. All together we decided to come back in the fall, not alone as a workawayer but also as a friend. Kind regards Martin.

I spend 3 wonderful weeks with Miriam and Pat. I never miss of anything, they quickly made me feel safe and like at home. I never been bored after help: the English class, dance class, and the walk around!! There is always something nice to do. Miriam is an amazing cook !! I did a lot of different tasks: farming, painting, cleaning,… I’ve learned so much new skills. And I’m so glad to have seen a sheep lambing during my first day of help: that was insane ! The times goes so fast, I enjoyed so much spending time with you. Thank you one thousand times for these amazing weeks with you (and of course Rugs and Bubby🐶) I’ll never forget you🌷 Mel’

The days I spent at Martin and Walter's house were truly beautiful, with their beautiful house surrounded by nature. I only stayed with them for 12 days, on helping days there were various activities to do such as feeding the chickens, cleaning and cooking vegetables, taking Tasha out and being a painter. The location of their house is very practical for exploring Belgium, in fact during my stay I managed to visit Gent, Bruges and Brussels. Not to mention the fantastic Gaasbeek Castle which is a few minutes' drive from home, in fact together with Martine and Hannah (another workawayer) we took Tasha and Leo for a walk. Another fundamental element is the food, in fact at their house we ate really well, every day there was always something new and Martine and Walter tried to make me taste as many typical dishes as possible such as Flemish meat and mussels with fried potatoes. What can I say, the days with them were wow. Grazie mille 😄 Ah l'importante é GESTICOLARE sempre
