These two were such a pleasure to host!..... they went above and beyond helping me set up/pack down the animal zone at our school festival and were super helpful in the garden - plus great company.

Katelyn was such a Joy to have around! She was not only a positive and helpful person but diligent, responsible and hard working. She followed directions well and took proactive Initiative. Katelyn contributed positively to our team, outgoing and inclusive with her other team members, the guests and even took on doggies duties as she is a kind and gentle, fun loving person :) I would highly recommend Katelyn to anyone looking for a positive to add to their team. Thanks Katelyn, you will be missed!

Volunteering here for a month was truly one of the best experiences of my life! Jacob, Eraldo and team are amazing to work with. The memories I made with my fellow volunteers will be kept forever and friends forever also. A great place to volunteer, make friends and explore Albania from. The work is super easy and a joy to do everyday and any help/ questions/ problems you might have are easily and quickly sorted by the team and everyone. Truly a family setting. 10/10 will volunteer here again in future! VERY Breakfast 😎🤟

Dianne is a lovely host. She is a very smart woman who knows exactly what she wants. I enjoyed my time at her beautiful homestay and made plenty of valuable memories. She taught me alot about growing a garden and having a lifestyle like hers. I planted a lot of veggies and we had an amazing time together. Her home is whimsical and lively and her garden full of magic. I also had a lot of fun with the other guest workers who stayed at the same time as I did. Because she and I both can be quite stubborn and garden work can be exhausting, sometimes we clashed, but we talked about it and made up quickly. Dianne is very open minded and I felt instantly safe and accepted as who I am. I am very grateful to have met Dianne, her Sister Catherine, their Family and Christina. They are very good people who I only wish the best. I feel very bad for writing this feedback so late, as I stayed around May, but posting this in November. It's because I had a traumatic motorcycle accident a couple of weeks after I left the farm. To leave my journey unfinished left me devastated and anxious. Though I have tried to write a text a couple of times during these last months I just couldn't bring myself to open the website. Now that my mental and physical health are in a way better state, I wanted to post this regardles of the delay. Dianne deserves better for what she has done for me and I apologize. I treasure the memories of my time there and can only recommend it! Kindly, Kiara

This experience can be split into 3 stages. 1. Down to earth. You are given tasks to fulfill, a routine is a word. Do the sweeping, clean the road from the leaves. The sweet part is doing gardening with Daniel, but that is a cheery on top. You cook once a week for all other volounteers and workers. You live in a simple house without an electricity. Every new day there is a special mission in the garden and you better be ready for it. I recommend stretching your back before the sweeping 2. Stage 2. Figuring out you are not alone. There are plenty of other people to connect to and explore their worlds. Their reasons for travel, persuits, life dreams. That thing plants a seed for a stage 3 3. Loving your community. After a week of such lifestyle, something clicks within and there appears unique topics with other members of that club. You spent your free time together, researching why everyone wanna come to Monteverde. In the end, you figure out, that you came there for these people and not for the cloud forest or the butterflies. We want to express the big gratitude for making our stay here so memorable to Tony, snake and bug wizard, Bryan, nowhere like Limon attitude, Rosa, the queen of butterfly knowledge base, Jaden, mother of interns and a glue for making this all work. And last but not least, the guardian angel of the garden prosperity, Daniel. He made our time the best we could ever imagine , telling all the possible jokes and charming us with his personality .

I stayed for a month during October and it was definitely a beautiful experience I'm never going to forget. This hostel really creates a unique vibe of coziness and I felt at home since day 1. There are several long-stay Japanese people living there which help create a great family and community, along with the guests that come and go. It was rare to have quiet days without events or fun dinners going on. This is the place to come if you're looking to connect with people, practice your Japanese and be a social creature. Regarding the work, it's 2 hours of cleaning 4 mornings per week and one afternoon of check-in if you can speak some Japanese, which honestly leaves you a great amount of free time to explore the area and make friends. Also you will have to plan one event during your stay there. Note that this is no longer a paid position, but for the few hours you work, it's fair to get only free accommodation. We were 3 workawayers at the same time (love u Mimi and Cassandra) and I left with people that came into my life to never leave.

I had the privilege of staying at CD's beautiful house for a few days even if he didn't need help at that moment and we shared amazing conversations and moments. Definitely a really sweet person and someone who cares and who you can really talk to. I left Otaru with a new friend and I know our paths will meet again. I would love to go back to help him with his permaculture project in the future. Gracias y gracias :)

Overall, my experience at Linda's guesthouse was very positive. There were some issues with communication of expectations, but Stuart and Andres (employees) took great care to resolve them. Stuart and Andres made my stay, I consider them both to be good friends after my month living and working with them. The location is great, (mostly) quiet and laid back, the weekends see many beach goers and can get loud at times. Manta is very accessible, with every kind of shop you could need. I took a 14 hour kite surfing course at the school just down the road, the Ocean is very friendly to swim here. For work, I fed the cats once a day and patrolled for waste. I painted and cleaned lightly, I helped with general tasks around the property. Only on Friday nights, I helped bus tables and run food for 15ish usual customers that come hang out. All of the work was pretty in-line with volunteer duties.

Annabel was wonderful to be with. Used to travel, autonomous on tasks and organizing, but also interesting to talk with and comfortable to be next to in silence for a quiet moment. I'd take her as a roomate anytime. I am just really grateful I had the chance to met her, and pass sometime in this travel... Pass by anytime!

Dear Tono and Demo! You were a wonderful choice for our first hosts, we learned so much from you. Thank you for the warm, friendly, open, and curious welcome, and for the weekend trips, because you gave us so many opportunities to explore and get to know your country. We had wonderfully energizing and exciting weekends, and we are also very grateful for your great hospitality. We truly like both of you and Simion as well you are a beautiful family and such kind people. No matter how busy you were, every day you still took some time to talk with us and enjoy carefree moments together. It was truly a pleasure getting to know you and the other volunteers. We feel that meeting you has opened up the world for us even more, and we’re deeply grateful for the journeys, your kindness, the good atmosphere, and everything in between. In the end, we are really grateful for this time and for having met you. With love Luca & Gábor

My stay in Basel was truly unforgettable. I had the chance to discover this beautiful city and its charming neighborhood, but what made the experience so special was being welcomed by this wonderful family. From the very first moment, Alice made me feel at home, sharing so much about Swiss life, helping me move around easily, and making sure I had everything I needed. The tasks were always enjoyable and interesting, and I had an amazing time playing Telestrations together and sharing a fondue and raclette dinner. Being far from home, it meant a lot to find such a warm and welcoming place, surrounded by people who made every day feel light and joyful. I’m deeply grateful for all the warmth, care, and kindness they showed me. I truly hope to come back and visit them again in the future, and they’ll always have an open invitation to visit me in Argentina whenever they wish.

WOW! Where do I start? I arrived late evening. Angela showed me thru the house quietly since Giuseppe was sleeping. Their house is very nice, modern and kept well. I went to my room to go to sleep and when I awoke I COULD NOT BELIEVE THE BEAUTIFUL VIEW out my bedroom window!!! I opened the French doors to my own balcony and was in awe of the vast ocean and landscape right in front of me! The guest bed is large and comfortable with lots of room ands storage space ,bedside table & lamp. The guest bathroom is downstairs with a sink, shower and toilet. While I was there I helped get the olive harvest in. This meant stripping the olives from the olive branches that her husband Luigi cut down onto the large nets. Then I trimmed the larger branches from the small ones and kept those for firewood, trimming off any little branches then cutting the larger ones down to a good fireplace size. Not difficult, it just takes a lot of time. I worked more with her father. Even though I don’t speak Italian we used google translate to have good conversation while driving on our way to the olive grove or mill. I was happy to help. I enjoyed keeping up on cleaning the dishes and keeping the kitchen clean, wiping down the counters and of course vacuuming everyday because it will need it!😀 It was nice to help with laundry, playing with Giuseppe, cleaning the leaves off the patio, wiping down an old mechanic storage shelf, picking up walnuts from the tree, and a few other chores to stay busy. I was able to pick fresh figs or lemons to eat at my pleasure. Oh and some persimmons and many other fresh vegetables from the garden.🪴 Luigi and Angela are SUPER friendly and will absolutely make you feel welcome in their home! It is likely you will meet family and some friends as well but don’t worry everyone is so friendly. One night Angela’s parents came for dinner and afterwards her mother played the piano while everyone sang nursery rhymes to Giuseppe and Angela and Giuseppe were dancing. It was so fun and enjoyable to watch. Her mother plays very well. Angela cooks delicious meals and there is NO CHANCE you will go hungry!😉 My days off or when done with work it was easy to catch a bus with a downhill 12 min. walk to the town center of Massa Lubrense. ( I loved the walk to and from town thru the village) I would take the bus into Sorrento sometimes or take the bus into Sorrento and then catch the bus to The Amalfi coast for the day. I really enjoyed my time with you Angela, Luigi, Giuseppe and family and I am so grateful for the trip to Capri with the tour guests. What a wonderful experience this Work Away was for me! I highly recommend! You will always have work to do to stay busy but have enough free time as well! I really am ever so grateful for your hospitality and giving me the chance to see and do things I’ve only ever dreamed of but much better getting to know such a sweet family while doing it! Ciao! Ti auguro tutto il meglio a te e alla tua famiglia Grazie mille!! Deana 😊
