  **Hey guys! 👋**
  
  I’m **Alicia en Oz**, an urban artist based in **Puerto Rico**.
  For the past 16 years, I’ve traveled the world, staying in all kinds of places and collecting beautiful experiences along the way.
  
  Now that I’m finally back home, I’m focused on **transforming and bringing life back** to my family’s old, abandoned houses — turning them into colorful, cozy spaces full of art, books, and good vibes. 🌈
  
  Our homes are located in **Santurce, Bayamón, and Maunabo**.
  The **Maunabo house** sits on three acres of land surrounded by mango, breadfruit, avocado, and plantain trees — and who knows what else! You’re always welcome to explore. 🍃 There’s a simple wooden house there where volunteers can stay.
  
  We’re currently looking for **Workawayers with construction and cleaning experience.** We do short **video interviews via WhatsApp** before confirming placements.
  
  Our program works by **daily tasks**, which we monitor together.
  We provide **private rooms**, **lunch Monday–Friday**, and **basic groceries** for breakfast and dinner. If you’d like, we can also help plan your free time to explore different parts of the island. 🌴
  
  We also founded the WhatsApp group **Volunteer Island Crew of PR**, which connects volunteers across the San Juan area — **Santurce, Miramar, Condado, and beyond!**

  ### ⚠️ Important Info About This Workaway
  
  To make sure everyone has a great experience, please read carefully:
  
  • This project is best for **experienced and independent volunteers.**
  If this is your *first Workaway, first time abroad, or first time living alone*, this may not be the right fit.
  
  • **Minimum age:** 25 (we make some exceptions). Couples are welcome! 💑
  • You must have a **U.S. visa** to enter Puerto Rico. We don’t provide work visas.
  • You should speak **English or Spanish.**
  • You’ll stay in one main location, and we provide transportation between houses (7–18 minutes apart).
  • The Maunabo house is on the other side of the island — you can stay there for a few days or a weekend while working.
  • **Minimum stay:** 2 weeks (can be extended).
  • Once confirmed, please notify us at least **one week in advance** if you need to cancel or change your arrival date.
  No-shows will be marked on your profile.
  • We can refer you to other volunteer projects around Puerto Rico — beaches, mountains, or community programs.
  • Couples share one room with a full bed; if you prefer separate rooms, apply individually.
  
  After acceptance, we’ll send you our **arrival message, rules, and agreements** via inbox.
  You’ll need to review and agree to them before joining.

  We provide a private room (full or twin bed) with shared bathroom in a house located in Santurce. You will be living in a communal environment so we ask to be respectful of others and the space.

  Its a tropical island and you will be staying in a private (o shared) room for free!
  
  Beaches, museums, street art, theathers, old san juan is less than 30 min away (by bicycle or car).
  
  Here in Puerto Rico everyday is a perfect day to go to the beach. It's always sunny, the ocean is a pretty clear blue and the water is warm.
  
  There are kite surfing, snorkeling, sightseeing, shopping, camping, salsa concerts, reggaeton, la placita bars, paint, surf, the rainforrest, take a ferry to Vieques and check out the bioluminescense bay or just enjoy the beach.
