Wow, thank you so much for your wonderful words! 😊 I’m really happy you enjoyed your time here and felt like part of the family — that means a lot to me. It was such a pleasure sharing my daily life, stories, and laughs with you. You brought great energy and kindness, and your help with the guesthouse project and the seniors’ program was truly appreciated by everyone. I completely understand and respect your feelings about the photo moment — and I’m glad we could talk about it openly. That’s what makes volunteering meaningful: sharing, learning, and understanding each other. You’ll always be welcome back anytime — the terrace, the tea, and the Daal Bhat are waiting for you! 😉 Wishing you the best in your next adventures and community projects. Warm regards, Prakash🐅

Gerda and Marcos, it has been wonderful to share this two weeks with you!! My time here in Les cabannes has been filled with a lot of precious things, from the delicious cooking that Gerda masters following the Ayurvedic principles and using a lot of delicious vegetables combined with spices and wild plants that she take care of in her garden, from which I could learn a lot about their usage in cooking and their benefits for the health. I also learned to be more conscious about the play we role in this world, and that living in the mountains like they do demands an effort of consciousness about the environment around you, and they do it living by ecologicals and permaculture principles. At casa you will learn a lot, with the beautiful company of Luna which will always want to play with you, and you will have the opportunity to join Gerda's yoga classes, or to go walking in the beautiful mountains of the Pyrenees de l'Ariege and reconnect along its nature. Muchísimas gracias para compartir vuestro hogar conmigo, estoy seguro que nos volveremos a ver! A bientôt<3

I stayed with Mike and Devanshe for a week and had wonderful time. The view from the orchard is heavenly, and it is accompanied in the morning by a wide array of songbirds. Doing work here was peaceful and rewarding. They are clearly intentional about choosing the right people for the right time, so volunteers can definitely expect to be doing things that they enjoy. The quality of communication with Devanshe was great throughout the whole process... she cares a great deal for the volunteers. Best of all-Mike, Devanshe, Devanshes' parents (and everyone else who was around while I was there) are all extremely pleasant people who will do their best to make you feel at home!

I was at the farm for just over two weeks, but I would have loved to stay much longer! It was an experience that I will always cherish, and I will definitely be back :) I met so many people, each with their own story, which we shared in the evenings around the fire, while cooking, while enjoying our time together or while working. I highly recommend this experience!

I write this feedback in English because I'm still not very confident about my German writing skills 😅 I stayed with Rita for 1.5 months and it was a lovely time! She is a very charming and likeable person. I especially remember all the nights we played card games together. She taught me how to play Zankpatience , Rommé and Rummikub which became some of my favorite card games. We also read together daily in German and I always felt she was encouraging me about my language skills. She took me to a swimming pool and to some events with old people where we played card games and ate cake. It was a lot of fun. The work itself was mostly house cleaning, cooking, book moving, and some light gardening. Occasionally I would forget something or mess up and I would hear "Du hörst nicht zu!" so I'm sorry! I think my attention is bad sometimes because I'm always on my phone. Rita was never mad with me for long though, even when I broke her expensive glass jars (also sorry about that :/) ; we would still play Rummikub or watch Echte Menschen at the end of the day and have fun. I think this experience was definitely overall great and I would do something like this again. My speaking is better. I learned a lot about Germany and about myself and I made a lot of memories that will stay with me for a long time. I wish you Rita all the best and thank you for the kind words. Wish me luck on my B2 exam 😄 Bye!

It was a true pleasure being part of the family with Zoe and Jono and their kids, for a brief period of 10 days. First of all communication was always straightforward and accurate. They made me feel cozy; as if I am at home, easy going vibe overall, with mutual respect. Food is healthy and spectacular, Zoe cooks like a chef. Kids are a cool bunch. Plenty to explore their area of southwest England; Somerset is a special place, autumn colours, massive oaks n beech. Mobility wise you can enjoy a walk, run, cycle or go catch a train 5 miles farther in little town of Bruton. I wish You folks lot of good times and hopefully Molly gets a plenty of epic horseriding moments. ☆

;) François stayed about two weeks here and it was a very nice experience. He is a hard-worker, knows how to anticipate what has to be done and take initiatives. Very respectful towards the others and of nature, open-minded and empathetic,he is a very pleasant, quiet and cultivated man with whom it is always a pleasure to discuss. Unfortunately I never managed to beat him at table football !!!! ;)

Hi guys, i'm Pederikoo Here to say was one of the best experiences of my whole Life. I'll never find the right words to describe how you made us immediately feel like home (and still can't find it now). I can only say to you, extraordinary people, that I hope the little note i left in the kitchen gave you and idea of what our stay at the farm meant to me and to us. I'll carry all of you with me every day, because everyday is a good day after staying at Pedesaan🫰 To other workawayers who want to have and idea of what they're going do/find. It was my very first workaway and as well my first travel outside Europe, so i didn't really know what to expect. Then i find out that: people at the farm are simply amazing, food is giving me problem trying to replay it on my own (sambal🤤), the farm is kinda of a dream, the work is soul cleansing, and I could go on forever, but i think i gave you and idea. Terima Kasih, hope i'll see you again☀️

Miguel requested a 2 week stay with us and we were happy to say yes. He was polite, clean, courteous, friendly, skilled and tidy in his work. Everything we asked him to do he did with pleasure and eagerness and learned new things quickly. He walked dogs, fed horses and even administered some medication to a horse when needed. He offered to wash up after each meal and cleaned his room on departure. We chatted easily over dinner and found him a pleasure to host. I am reluctant to say more as fear he will be snapped up by others and we would like him to come back when his schedule allows! Thank you so much for all your help Miguel we appreciated it.

We spent around 16 days on La Palma at Misha's finca and I am grateful to have shared his slice of paradise. The main work we did was help gardening in the Barranco as well as paint a mural on the outside of a future outdoor bathroom. Misha's place has a wide open view of the ocean, and is close to a black sand beach you could take a 45 minute walk to. I am very happy with the time spent here. I will remember this place for awhile, it is a special place. Thank you for your generosity & hospitality Misha, I wish you well with Sasha & Germany.

I spent fun and touching moments with Prakash :) About the place: his house is almost new, so you have a beautiful bedroom for yourself with hot water, a fan, a wonderful mattress, space, quiet, and privacy :) The house is huge, so you’ll probably live on the second floor with direct access to a big terrace. The house is located really close from the main road with all shops (5min walking). The food is good (notably if you love Daal Bhat) and served twice a day: lunch/breakfast and dinner (10am and 7pm). For me, daily life was really dynamic because Prakash brought me everywhere he went, even for his personal or family activities; so I really felt like part of the family :) I also spent a lot of time with his kind and generous nephew. Ajit brought me to the jungle, through the village by motorcycle, meeting lots of people (and drinking lots of tea), visiting an old temple, eating great Mo:Mo near the park (with a nice view). We also spent nice moments at his house, where he invited Prakash and me for a pre-dinner with local food and drinks (good Rakshi for those who know it :)). About the job: tasks were split in two, since Prakash has two projects: offering guesthouse accommodation in his house and helping seniors in the village. I helped him create a Booking and a Google My Business page for his guesthouse project. Then I helped financially some seniors: we bought packs of food and distributed them by motorcycle. People were so grateful, and most of them were really warm, smiling and laughing with jokes, dances, and songs from Prakash. Yes, Prakash is able to make a real one-man show ;) He loves telling stories! He has a really nice energy, dynamic, kind, and definitely grateful with everybody and everything. He knows everybody in the village so you won't have time to be bored. He loves not to be serious most of the time, which makes the time really pleasant with him :) The only point where I was not really comfortable was when we delivered the food to the seniors, he wanted to take a picture of the food with the people and me. I felt like it was to “show” we were giving to them and declined. I explained my point and he didn’t insist at all. Prakash is smart and, above all, very human. Thanks a lot Prakash, for giving me the opportunity to have an experience in a community initiative. It gave me the desire to do it again in my future volunteering. And thanks for sharing a piece of your life with me, it was quite funny! Yes, you are a funny guy ;)

Christa is a great host. She made sure I was comfortable and showed me around the local area. The garden is beautiful and well maintained. Just a 10 minute walk to get a bike or car taxi into town and the lake. The lake is warm and clean to swim in.

Neil was a delight to have around, he came at a very busy time for our family with lots going on and he took everything in his stride. He was hugely supportive, flexible and empathetic and nothing was too much trouble. He is a very loyal man who carries out all he says he will and more! He quietly got on with so many tasks, which he undertook in a meticulous way, nothing phases Neil. The children really enjoyed his company and he was very patient and kind to them, along with Diggory the dog who very much enjoyed being out with Neil in the garden or going on walks with him. He is a very respectful, and interesting man too and we really enjoyed conversations with him, he will certainly be missed.

I spent three weeks with the ever changing family of people and animals that live here. I appreciate our beautiful meals, conversation and the gorgeous animals on the land 🐶 Two dogs, seven cats, chickens, ducks, a sweet curious turkey and a couple of other birds. I helped with an art project in one of the bathrooms which I really enjoyed. The rooms are very beautiful with a private bathroom and balcony. The place is run on intuition and trust so I felt very free to do what I wanted and felt was needed. I also helped cleaning the garden, cutting grass and making sure the trees get enough sun and water. The land will surely grow into a luscious and rich forest garden over the next few years! Fruits and nuts grow everywhere and they taste so good 🍊 Thank you all for our time together, for the heartfelt atmosphere and for your dedication to life itself 🧬💕

I spent two weeks with Paul and Yvonne and had such an awesome time! We re-pointed a stone wall together and did other outdoor/gardening jobs on their land. They were so organised and good at communicating so I always knew what to expect, which I really appreciated. Meal times were always great fun and also very delicious. It was so interesting to learn about how they work their land with all they different plants and animals they have. Thank you for hosting me, would definitely recommend a workaway stay at Paul and Yvonne's place.

Anina and her friend Anna stayed with us for 1 week. She paied attention to all the rules and how the work needed to be done, so she was able to learn quickly. She was proactive and very supportive. She tried to take advantage of the time and be efficient. She a very friendly and easygoing. I also think she was able to practice her spanish and improve a bit. We created a nice friendship with her and we hope to be able to meet her again in the future in Spain or Switzerland. In short, she is a great workawayer, work hard, is very helpful and is a nice person.

My stay from late July to late August went by so quickly — it was such a wonderful month. I’m so happy that I got to experience my very first Workaway here. Even before arriving at the meeting point, I felt very safe and comfortable because George kept in close contact with me. Most of my work was weeding in the vineyard and vegetable garden, and feeding the chickens. There were many hot, sunny days, but George and Carin always looked out for us, so we could take plenty of breaks and work at a comfortable pace. The time I spent with George, Carin, and the other Workawayers I met there was so warm and full of kindness. I really enjoyed tasting the delicious wine made from grapes harvested in the vineyard, and eating the fresh vegetables, eggs, and maple syrup from the garden — everything was amazing. It was my first time using machines like the Argo, tractor, and grass trimmer, but thanks to George’s kind guidance, I was able to handle them well. Thank you for giving me such a valuable experience! During my stay, George and Carin took us to so many wonderful places — rowing on the lake, watching the sunset over Lake Huron, and visiting their favorite shops and restaurants. Those experiences were so special, and I’m really grateful for all the memories we shared. I also loved our board game nights together, and Carin kindly taught me how to crochet. George’s cooking and Carin’s cakes and bread were absolutely delicious! And I was so happy that everyone enjoyed my Hiroshima-style Okonomiyaki! Thank you for all the love and warmth you shared with me, George and Carin! I truly hope our paths will cross again someday.
