… read more permaculture, you are in good hands here, as there is a lot to learn and do. The freshly prepared meals in the evening were always a highlight and even vegetarians are well looked after. Together with the other Workawayer and their two dogs, we created a family-like atmosphere and I will have fond memories of these two weeks. On your days off you can visit Montauban or Toulouse, go for a hike or just spend time in their green paradise.

Thea came to us for her 1st WorkAway and given that fact did really well and was very easy to host. She never complained, regardless of the rain. We believe she has gained much in skills and confidence from being at our farm and this will make her a 5 star volunteer the next time. For a next host we would definitely recommend her.

… read more wholeheartedly! I worked together with a very very sweet and kind girl from South Africa. During our free days we went to cities nearby by train to explore new places, such as Albi and Bordeaux (Bordeaux was quite far away, but we stayed at a hotel so we had two days there). I really enjoyed the working tasks as well. We did a lot of weeding and planting, and sometimes a bit harder work, which was a great workout session! Something I’ll keep in mind for next journey is to bring better clothes, especially waterproofing jackets and pants! They also provide delicious, good and healthy food. Lettuce from their own garden and meat from their own pigs. Paul and Yvonne is very easygoing and nice people. I definitely recommend them as hosts!

Had a great stay with Paul and Yvonne!
Highlights for us were that they are very organised and hardworking, so we were able to get many projects completed in just two weeks. They are very knowledgeable and share their experiences freely. The rooms were extremely comfortable and the property itself is beautiful.
Our projects were varied
… read more (fencing, weeding, installing drainage, making flower beds, helping with animals, DIY etc). It was all very physical which we both enjoyed.
The nearest town is a 20 minute beautiful stroll where you'll find a pharmacy, bakery and small grocery store. We were content just to relax in the afternoon and take walks in the countryside, but if you want to do something in your free time you would need a car to get to nearby larger towns, or to organise with Paul & Yvonne getting dropped to a bus stop or train station. They also have electric bikes you can borrow.

We had the opportunity to visit Toulouse on our day-offs and they were always happy to give us a lift to the train station.

In our time there we worked as a team to level the ground, build a polytunnel and greenhouse, build terraced raised beds, assemble a chicken run, put up a tree swing in the old oak, build rainwater collection plus lots of other
… read more jobs, like moving compost and finally sewing some seeds! It’s fair to say there is plenty to do, so you won’t have time to get bored 🙂
We are intending to pursue a similar permaculture project ourselves, so we made the most of our time with our hosts and learnt a lot from them and in the tasks we undertook.
Paul & Yvonne are excellent hosts, they welcomed us into their home (which was really comfortable) and looked after us well in all aspects. They catered carefully for Glynn’s dairy intolerance which was really appreciated.
On our days off we took our campervan to the nearby villages of Bruniquel and Puycelsi, which are beautiful old French villages with good woodland walking trails. We also took our bikes out on local roads which were quiet and picturesque.

Roma is 'one-of-a-kind'! He works fast and delivers great quality work. He very quickly understands the project at hand and gets on with it independently. He is easy to have around and a great teamplayer. We were sorry to see him go after 3 weeks; he can always come back to us!
