If you are looking for a dependable, responsible volunteer who is proactive, friendly and a fast learner, coupled with an intelligent mind , care free attitude and good vibes, look no further, Jeremy is your guy. We were delighted and lucky to host him and regretted that he couldn't stay with us longer. All the best mate, and hope to see you again, when you visit Sri Lanka. You will be missed.

The two weeks with Romes where so cool! He is a very nice and honest person and spending time with him was great. The village Siulak has a lot to offer and the people are indeed very welcoming and friendly. Of course, Mount Kerinci and primary rainforests are close, so there is plenty of things to do/explore. The work was not hard and it never got boring beeing around Romes. He has a lot of different interests, which he shares with others. Overall, very much worth it!

Benji did gardening work that usually needs to be done in the fall, he was also a great help with work around the house. He is a calm and pleasant person to be around and even surprised us with his amazing baking skills!

Esther was a volunteer at our hostel for a few weeks, and during that time she became an integral part of the hostel who connected really well with the volunteer team, local staff, and the guests, to improve the guest experience and add value to our overall offering. She learnt our property management system as well as the processes fast, and was responsible and organised in the way she carried out her duties. She was always willing to go out of her way to lend a hand, and was always someone who spread good vibes. We would love to have her visit us again one day, and hopefully join us as a volunteer again.

We stayed at Sunil’s farm for 2 weeks and wish we could have stayed longer! Sunil was so welcoming and thoughtful and made us feel at home straight away. We ate lots of guava and drank lots of milk tea and every meal we cooked with home grown vegetables! Our work was really enjoyable and consisted of taking the cows to graze, planting seeds, and harvesting. There’s lots of opportunity to be creative with the kind of help you’d like to contribute! We had many interesting conversations about spirituality and even went to celebrate Tihar with Sunil’s family. A truly enriching experience and we really felt like family by the end. Thank you so much Sunil!

It was a great experience. We stayed for 3 Weeks, eventhough the work was done way earlier than expected, we could stay the whole time. We learned a lot about olive harvesting, and olive oil. Mariano, Crystal, the kids and Rue are very welcoming and loving. They helped us in any way they could and gave us a great accomodation. They were so kind and we are infinitely grateful. We hope to return someday.

Greta is a wonderful, communicative WA with who it was a pleasure for us to work and live with. She did a great job, especially with the DiY stuff.4 It is worth highlighting that although she had never done many things before, she was still able to implement them perfectly right away. She is also super respectful and a great woman we loved to share the dinners with through and through. Highly recommandable! Thanks Greta for helping us!

Alexandra stayed with us for around 2 weeks during school holidays, taking care of our 5yo daughter Eleanor, helping with the house and cooking dinner. She is a very solar person, very talkative and positive. She is great with kids, finding always good ways to manage difficult moments and taking the positive part of them. Eleanor had a great feeling and time with her, learning some English as well. I wish you all the best for the future!

Nicolas was a fun, chill, and creative guest. He was here for a month, and we got along really well. He was flexible with schedules, cheerful, and always had a good story to share. He's good with tools and cars, and he helped with a bunch of stuff that would have taken me a while to figure out on my own. I learnt halfway through that its best if I give Nico clear expectations and instructions regarding goals, what to do and when to do it. After that the cooperation was awesome, and it was really cool to do things together. He was here with several other workawayers, and he was kind, supportive and empathetic towards them. We had a lot of interesting talks, and I learnt a lot from him about various topics. He has a very wide repertoire of musical genres, and I discovered a lot of interesting new songs and artists. So it was a very interesting cultural exchange, and I firmly believe Nico is a very likeable person. I can warmly recommend him to any future hosts or guests, and I am sure they also will have a great time.

Wow. Thank you Nicki and Richard I'm already missing the Blythe valley. I stayed with Nicki and Richard for two amazing weeks where we did a variety of jobs, from helping Richard with checking traps in the morning, cutting down broom in the valley to helping Nicki in the garden potting, planting and cleaning the green house (we did so much more but the list would be too long!). Then in the afternoons we could explore the beautiful sunny Blythe valley and beyond (Nape Nape was spectacular!). Nicki and Richard both care deeply about the land and the impact they have on it and it was a pleasure to work alongside them :). Good luck with everything guys!

Rebecca was a gentle, kind and considerate guest. She seems to be very concious, has a good sense of her life goals and schedules, and listens before she speaks. It was very easy to have her here, as she is self-driven and motivated to do good in the world, and she even helped with things like conservation techniques for food that I was not sure myself how to do correctly. Her attitude towards life and all the people who are in this quest together are filled with important insights that are rather unusual not only in this demographic group, but in entire populations. I wish there was more time and place for deep talks, as the stay was relatively short and the circumstances then didn't leave a lot of time for delving into philosophical topics. I am sure that any future hosts or guests will have an enriching time encountering Rebecca, as long as they greet her with the same level of kindness, empathy and respect as she surely will towards them.

We spent three weeks between August and September at the guesthouse. We had an incredible time with Paata, Tina, and their daughter Elene. The guesthouse is beautiful, and it was a real pleasure to work there every day. Simon also worked on some outdoor projects with Paata. Between work times, we had plenty of free time to walk around Omalo and explore Tusheti. It was the perfect balance. Since Paata and Tina are natives of Tusheti, we had the chance to learn a lot about this unique region. We warmly recommend this experience, which beautifully combines human connection and the stunning landscapes of Tusheti.

We had a great time with Hanna and Nooa. Hanna prepared part of my garden for winter and worked very conscientiously. Nooa repainted my birdhouse and other small items, for which I am very grateful. One evening, they cooked us the best fish soup ever, Finnish fish soup of course. It was wonderful. We also learned a lot about Finnish culture and Christmas traditions. You took a piece of Swiss Christmas home with you in a bottle of Wywarm of corse. May your wishes come true.

When Levi and Fabrizio picked me up at the train station in Pisogne I felt right away that this work away engagement was going to be great. They just have something between them that made staying at their little farm special. Levi and Fabrizio are authentic good people with big hearts. Their hospitality was second to none. They made my stay easy and it felt like being a part of the family and their vision. Sprigole is up the mountain overlooking beautiful lake Iseo. It is pristine and quiet, simple and there is magic, just wonderful! The work required is easy, organized and well explained. Besides being caring hosts there is a wealth of knowledge that is shared in interesting conversations. The 3 weeks I stayed with Levi and Fabrizio created lasting memories, it was a bit sad to leave. The things I miss: The quietness of the farm, the local cheese and Fabrizio‘s cooking, speaking and learning italien with Levi and Fabrizio, the nightly movies in cinema fashion and Levi‘s daily question: Have you eaten enough! Thank you so much for the fantastic time with you. I definitely go back to Levi and Fabrizio.

We stayed at Pure’s for one week. Our experience at the farm was wonderful. Pure is such a genuine person who is passionate about his farm and home, and so easy to get along with. He builds such a warm community with the volunteers and was eager to teach us about growing mushrooms, permaculture, and building with bamboo. We had regular outings to visit the night markets in Phayao, as well as Pure's sculpter uncle's home, and his friends' house, where we recieved an amazing painting workshop. We also spent a day hiking in the local national park. When you are not working, the farm is such a relaxing place to hang out with plenty of things to keep you occupied. The food is also some of the best we have ever eaten. We would highly recommend coming here!

Hannah was a delightful addition to our team for 2 weeks, we wished she could have stayed longer! From the moment I picked her up her warmth and good humour shone; she immediately proved to be a great help and to be flexible in her approach (e.g. although she is vegetarian she was happy to help load packets of frozen pork into my vehicle since I had a hand injury!). She was hardworking, fun-loving and happy to chat away or work together quietly listening for birdsong. She did some fantastic baking (carrot cake!), planted potatoes, cut out gorse and broom, poisoned Old Man's Beard, tailed lambs, climbed limestone scree to spray weeds - among many other things. She learned a few skills along the way (e.g. sourdough, planting native trees) and was always friendly and charming with everyone she interacted with in our community - from the farmers in our catchment group to my art group. I would highly recommend Hannah to other hosts. ....although we also hope that she will come back here again when her travels in NZ allow!

Matti and Mille were amazing couple to host. They used the best of their skills to help us do many things from website development to cooking skills and sharing different dishes and ideas that would help us in our project. The couple is very organized and respect people's culture and religion. They are also very obidient and generous. The flexibility in their time management made it easy for us to work very well. We had a lot of stories from both sides with learning taking place across each side on different aspects of culture. We enjoyed staying together and we remained with a lasting memories of a life time. I count myself lucky to meet and host them. Great people to stay with. I wish them safe travels.

Had an amazing time in Salaverry! Our host Shegu was an amazing guy who went out of his way to help us and make us feel at home. He even went out of his way to pick us and the other volunteers from Trujillo to welcome us all to his home! The volunteering work was amazing with the kids being so fun, energetic and receptive to learning. Could not have had a better experience and can't wait to come back! Thanks so much Shegu

The week we spent at Gerlinde's was great! As the awesome teacher that she is, she not only taught us about gardening and sustainable practices like how to lay mulch, which weeds to pick out, and how to get rid of those annoying tradescantias using the peppering method but also about the area, how Honeymoon Valley came to be and some New Zealand history. We got to experience nature and culture in their truest form with Gerlinde, and of course had great conversations and good laughs. And what a gift to be able to enjoy her cooking straight from the garden :)
