Attila was with us for a month and helped with all kinds of work around the property, from metalwork to woodwork, painting to fixing things, he was always really cheerful and polite and very good company and it was great having him here. He's a very conscienscious chap and likes to do things well and is very trustworthy, a perfect guest in our home. My thanks dear Attila for all your hard work - and each day now, as we do different jobs, we come across things you built and it's a pleasure to recall the talks we had and of working together. I spent a weekend with Filip, it was a great time! He helped me with videography, teaching how to use the camera, aswell as filming some nice video shots in the forest. He is super chill and great to spend quality time with. Things I really appreciated with Filip: 1. Filip is very humble, easy going and considerable, it makes it easy for you as a host to have him around. 2. Great teacher, especially with cameras, music, computers, technical devices and more. 3. Well traveled, experienced and curious to learn - willing to help with whatever needed. He helped me with various tasks, such as potato harvesting, cooking, and fish hunting. Even new tasks was handled well and taken seriously. I am thankful for the weekend we spent, I recommend him and sure we will meet again!

Dorina and Marton stayed with us for about two and a half weeks in October, and it was such an easy and enjoyable time together. From the very beginning, everything felt natural and relaxed — we quickly found a really nice flow in how we lived and worked together. Communication was open and respectful, and it was easy to align and respond to each other’s needs. They were only our second Workawayers, and it’s still something quite special for us to open our doors and share our space and everyday life with others. We don’t do it very often, so it felt especially encouraging to have two people who were genuinely interested, curious, and happy to be part of our daily rhythm. We could trust them to work independently, and whenever something was unclear, they simply asked — which we really appreciated. It was great to see them try out new things and find their own groove here. They also connected really lovingly with our daughter — there was a moment where it just clicked, and from then on they were best buddies. That was really nice to see. And of course, the food was always delicious! It was a joy having them around — calm, kind, thoughtful, and easy to be with. We’re really grateful for the time shared and can happily recommend them to any future hosts.

Juan “Manu” es un voluntario genial. Ayudo a mantener un ambiente positivo, limpio y organizado. Aprendió muy rápido lo ese cual del trabajo y cuido dé los animales. Se dedicó a los animales y a los cuidados de los espacios, ayudó a apoyar los trabajadores y los otros voluntarios. Cocino deliciosas comidas veganas, organizo sesiones de cine, nos introdujo al slackline y ayudo a organizar y ser anfitrión de eventos para juntar a los residentes y fomentar el compañerismo dentro del santuario. Gracias por todo compi! 🌱

Lauri helped with guest management: giving welcome tours, organizing activities, and troubleshooting issues with guests. His great work was reflected in the public reviews; the guests praised him by name and commented on how welcome they felt. We also appreciated his resourcefulness and willingness to help with other little tasks around the property. We would be delighted to host him again sometime and wholeheartedly recommend him.

It was a real pleasure to host Shiori. Friendly, kind, open -minded and a pleasant housmate. We had nice conversations, visited some special places together and met some of my friends and neighbours. Shiori was serious in doing her tasks and making her hours. From the moment we met at the railwaystation she was open in her communication and easily making contact. I enjoyed our nine days together and I am grateful that I got to know her.

I had a nice week at Sabine’s place. It’s a great Workaway for people who enjoy spending time on their own and want to reconnect with nature and themselves. Sabine is a very interesting and kind person, and I really appreciated our conversations. Her cooking talents are undeniable — she made delicious lunches with quality ingredients, and the breakfasts she prepared every morning with fruits from the garden always brought a nice feeling of warmth and attention. The nights in the gypsy wagon were deeply calm and relaxing. Thank you Sabine !

Milton was a great host, I had a really good time with him when I stayed with him for a week. He helped me learn Spanish, while I helped him with his English school. His English school is a lot of fun, while being very effective and professional at the same time. I had no experience teaching English, but he made it really easy for me, and I sincerely enjoyed the experience, meeting the students, but most of all, meeting Milton. What a really great guy 👍 HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS WORKAWAY PROJECT!!!!

Nana, her sister Kaja, Dušanka and the children are all wonderful people. I’m deeply grateful to each of them for making me feel completely at home from the very first day. I learned so much from every one of them, and I will never forget our conversations, our laughter, and the warmth we shared. Nana is such a strong, multifaceted, and free-spirited woman. She is capable of handling everything with grace and does her best to raise her children with the same confidence and authenticity. Their farm is like a little paradise — peaceful, full of life and harmony with nature. The horses are incredibly gentle, and you can truly feel the deep spiritual bond that both Nana and Kaja share with them. This experience was truly special and enriching for me. I’m so grateful for the chance to spend time with such a loving, generous, and inspiring family. 💛

We had an absolutely cracking time staying with John! although the weather was not ideal and we had to change our plans a lot, we found the place wonderful and inspiring. John is such a kind and fun person. He is extremely knowledgeable about the surrounding nature, and always enthusiastic to share this with us. We will surely miss it all dearly!

La visita de estas chicas fue muy linda, además de hacer todo el trabajo de manera impecable siempre querían hacer más! Ayudaron en temas muy delicados con perros muy maltratados con un amor increíble. Las recomendamos absolutamente para cualquier proyecto. Aquí ayudaron muchísimo y con mucho cariño y profesionalismo.

Maja and Val were a lovely couple to host. They were willing to carry out a variety of tasks from housekeeping to interior paintwork touch ups and exterior painting, driveway cleaning ( even when my waterblaster wouldnt start) and carpet cleaning. They also offered to make excellent vegetable soup once evening. I appreciated our interesting conversations, their cheerful attitude, their interest in exploring the local area, and the tasks they completed. I would recommend them to others.

I spent 10 days with Claudio, and I don’t even know how to thank him for everything he did for me. He was incredibly welcoming — he came to pick me up at the port and gave me the keys to my own apartment so that I could have my independence. He was so generous, introducing me to all the local specialties, whether at his place or in restaurants. He was always attentive, making sure everything went perfectly. He even provided all the gear I needed for different activities (gloves, caps, shorts, jackets…). Claudio is very respectful and gives everyone their personal space. He let me choose our daily plans depending on our mood and the weather. He took me all around the island — by bike, kayak, on foot, and by car. We shared wonderful moments together, laughed a lot, drank wine, and played cards. I couldn’t have dreamed of a better first Workaway experience. I wouldn’t even call it volunteering, since there weren’t really any “tasks” that felt like work. Everything was based on sharing good times with Claudio and the other Workawayers. All you need is a willingness to be active, curious about discovering the island, eager to share good recipes, and happy to collect some memories in photos and videos. I’m leaving the island with my head full of memories and new friends in my pocket :) I feel so lucky to have spent these few days immersed in the gentle rhythm of Italian island life with Claudio. Thank you again!

Estuvimos 7 días junto a Jacky, Adriano, Richi y Marcelo en la Finca En el campo quitamos musgo, cosechamos el fruto del cacao y plantamos árboles para reforestar la zona. Aparte, se espera de los voluntarios que limpien en la casa y que laven los platos tras cada una de las comidas. Durante nuestra estancia fuimos 3 voluntarios en total. A veces no estaba claro quién tenía que limpiar y nos hubiera gustado más organización, para no decir nosotros a otros voluntarios que era su turno de fregar o para que no recayera esta tarea siempre en los mismos. El alojamiento es muy bueno y confortable, y se paga 5$/día/persona por las comidas, que fueron muy ricas, comidas locales y muy sabrosas. Gracias a que una pareja fue a la Quinta a hacer tour del cacao, pudimos ver todo el proceso del cacao y tomar ese día un poco, muy rico, nos hubiera gustado poder probarlo en más ocasiones! Algunos días nos tocó estar solos, ya que la familia se tuvo que marchar y nos tocó también cocinar nuestras comidas. En la finca estás algo aislado, por lo que dependes de la familia si ellos van o vienen. Creo que se podría mejorar la comunicación en este sentido, ya que fue confuso en ocasiones saber si se marchaban o se quedaban. Nos enteramos que Richi se iba y ya no lo veríamos más después de que se marchara, no le pudimos despedir. Nos dio la sensación de que quizás no era un buen momento para tener voluntarios, al estar ellos ocupados y a veces fuera de la finca. En general, fue buena experiencia, pudimos aprender mucho sobre el cacao. Nos hubiera gustado compartir más con la familia sobre nosotros y sobre la cultura y los alrededores, pero no tuvimos el suficiente tiempo con ellos. Gracias a todos, nos quedamos con los buenos momentos en la cocina y en el campo. Gracias a Richi por su compañía en el río y a Marcelo, que nos llevó a cenar a Puyo y también el último día nos llevó a desayunar rico cevichocho y después nos llevó hasta Baños en el coche. Jonny and Toshi approached us earlier in the year to come and stay. After changes to their plans they arrived with us in mid September to house sit whilst we were away looking after the cat. The time we spent the time together was very productive, working efficiently in the garden and house. We kept in contact whilst we were out of the country with updates on what they had achieved. House sitting the cat didn't quite go to plan! The cat decided that staying with the neighbour was a better option! On our return to France Jonny and Toshi had to leave earlier than planned which was unfortunate as I had a list a mile long of jobs to do and was looking forward to their company.

I stayed two Weeks with Carolyn and Leo (most beautiful dog). I was honestly sad I had to leave because we had such a great time. We both learned a lot from each other's skills. Carolyn is a very calm Person with a lot of life experience. She gave me a new deeper perspective on communication and I felt very welcome like it's home. I believe because she is a very grateful personality. I would recommend anyone that is honest to work with her. You will have a enjoyable and special time for sure :)

We had an absolutely wonderful experience hosting these two young women from the French-speaking part of Switzerland. Elena and Arielle, although only 19 years old, they are both incredibly mature, independent, and responsible for their age. From the first day, they impressed us with their self-sufficiency, positive attitude, and warm presence. They helped us with a variety of projects — planting, harvesting olives, covering the roof of our outdoor kitchen with bamboo, and building many beautiful insect hotels, also made from bamboo. They approached every task with enthusiasm, care, and attention to detail. Their love for animals truly touched us. They were so gentle and affectionate with our dogs, who absolutely adored them and received countless cuddles every day. Even in their free time, they visited and cared for the local street dogs at the beach, especially a mother with puppies — feeding them and giving them affection. We also spent many lovely, entertaining evenings together, full of laughter and great conversations. Their energy, kindness, and joy made them a real pleasure to have around. They originally planned to stay for two weeks but ended up staying three, as we all enjoyed the time together so much. We can wholeheartedly recommend them to any future hosts — they are reliable, kind-hearted, and a true joy to have as part of your home. 💛🐾

Sun llego a ayudarnos y formar parte de nuestro equipo. Realmente queremos destacar que aunque el llegó sabiendo muy poco español, siempre estuvo alegre, dispuesto a ayudar con lo que sea necesario. Práctico mucho español con nosotros, con otros voluntarios y con una plataforma. Creemos que se fue sabiendo muchas más palabras y pudiendo comunicarse mucho mejor. Se relaciono súper bien con los demás voluntarios y con nuestros hijos. Nos ayudó con el jardín, la madera y lo más importante con el piso de nuestra casa de te. Gracias, gracias, gracias. Para los demás host, lo súper recomendamos a Sun! No sé van a arrepentir. Siempre quiere ayudar y aprender. Y la frutilla del postre! Saca unas fotos y unos vídeos espectaculares, una cámara que parece un drone, gracias. Buen viaje! Y ojalá algún día podamos conocer Japón y visitarte.
