What can we say. Our stay was just phenomenal. From the very first welcoming we felt like we made the right decision in coming here. Punam and Wim are two open and warm hearted and people with a good sense of humor. They made us feel home every second of our stay and made it very difficult for us to leave at the end. The land of the community is big and beautifully and there is always something to discover (and to do). We always found work that we liked and especially something that one of us could do together with our son, which made the stay all in all very easy for us. We are so happy to have met you guys, keep up the good work and see you in 5 😊❤️

I stayed with Sylvia and her daughters for 3 days (wayyyy too short 😭). They are such a remarkable family, so warm and loving and welcoming! I arrived after a very busy weekend for them and despite her tiredness, Sylvia still made time to bring me out to different places in Namur and introduce Namur to me! She always tried to involve me with her family by bringing me out together with them, playing games together etc! The girls were lovely to be around and I am so grateful I got to experience being a part of their family🫶 I would definitely recommend Sylvia and family to everyone seeking for a genuine and authentic Belgium family exchange! merci!!!

Although I stayed with Aine only for a short time, it was truly wonderful meeting her! Conversation flowed so easily and I learnt so much about health, spiritual aspects, music, culture (irish and dutch!) and many more!! Aine was a lovely host and I really enjoyed our morning coffee and chitchat! She was also an awesome tour guide :) I really enjoyed how she brought me around to the local markets near her place and showed me a lil bit more of dutch life! Her apartment is also situated in an amazing area so it was very useful to get around! I helped her to do some light cleaning up and computer work. Aine was very receptive to feedback and it was truly an amazing first WW! THANK YOU Aine!!!

We spent 5 days sharing with the family. We had a very good experience. They received us very well and took care of us. I highly recommend being able to share with them, they show you the culture of India and especially Haryana. Thank you, thank you ❤️

I got to stay with Anne, Fredrik and the kids for a week this summer and although it was only one week, they made me feel so at home and I really had the best of times there. The work was fun and I was able to borrow a bicycle and explore a bit. Dalarna is beautiful, and in the summer, you can jump in lakes all the time, that's great fun. I loved my time there and would highly recommend staying with them 😊

I had my second experience as Workawayer with Dominique and Wim, and it was great! I was really curious to learn about olive harvesting, and thanks to them I have achieved my goal. For the whole period I have stayed, I've had a good time and I had the opportunity to visit Alicante and meet very nice people. The atmosphere in the house has always been great. Together with other Workawayers, we made a lot of jokes and laugh many times. If you are looking for a good and comfortable stay, I totally recommend staying with them!

Alejandro stayed for over 6 weeks. He helped at the wine festival , played with the kids and did a lot of garden work. He works totally independently. I also want to mention that he looked after our property and animals for two weeks when we were on holidays.

Maisie was an excellent worker , intelligent and able to work alone. She quickly learnt to mix soils for different uses and did hundreds of cuttings of geraniums and preserving plants for winter. She is strong and was really involved in the animals ,Bella the dog will miss her. She has a gluten intolerance but doesn’t make a fuss about it. While here she learned to make a very good gluten free bread. She has a good appetite and is not picky. Any work she undertook in the household from washing up or preparing the gite for new visitors was done cheerfully and thoroughly. She unfortunately had to leave early but we would welcome her back.

Crystal and Mariano are the most wonderful hosts! We spend 2 weeks for olive harvest at their place and had an amazing time. From the the beginning they made sure we felt welcomed and they introduced us to their world and living. They provided us with everything needed (we had our own apartment) and beyond and checked on us on regular basis. We enjoyed spending time with them, because we had ether deep or funny conversations and they were always interesting! The given tasks were good to handle and harvesting was a lot of fun. We learned a lot about harvesting, pressing the oil, had tasty meals in the olive grove and as well a tasting of self harvested olive oil. We learned about Canadien and Croatian culture and we were gifted being invited to an original Canadian thanks giving dinner (party). The kids were fun too and we absolutely recommend spending time with that lovely family.

I spent two amazing weeks with Patricia and Sidney. They are such friendly, generous, and kind people, and their place is absolutely awesome. Their animals are so lovely and cute. I loved working on various tasks such as painting, weeding, labeling wine bottles, and doing maintenance in the vineyard. They also introduced me to golf and art. Patricia also cooked so many delicious dishes. I truly recommend this place. And now, each time I see the moon, I think of Tilly and I say, “Where is the moon? Haha All the best to both of you, you’re really amazing people!! Thank you so much again! I miss you so much…

We had such a wonderful time staying with Tracie. She’s a very kind and bubbly person. We stayed for about a week and a half. We rented a car for the time we were staying and would recommend having a car for a stay here as Herberton is quite a quiet place. We know that Tracie is very happy to take people out to visit the area if they don’t have transport, though. Her and her partner Pete also took us out for two fantastic evenings- one for a swim in Lake Eacham and a barbecue right by the waters edge, and one to Hasties Swamp with homemade pizza to watch the birds come in the roost for the night. The Atherton Tablelands is a gorgeous area and we’d definitely recommend a visit- Tracie has loads of great ideas about stuff for people to do as she has worked as a tour guide in the area! It is also only about a 1.5 hour drive away from Port Douglas which is a town you can visit the Great Barrier Reef from. We stayed one night in Port Douglas to snorkel the reef (and visit the forever reef project which we would really recommend) and to visit the adjacent Daintree Rainforest. Tracie is great at pitching work at the right level for workawayers. We also learned some new skills, like how to make concrete and grout the little wall alongside her driveway. We picked up compost from the local mushroom farm and incorporated it into the veggie garden, pruned, weeded and helped mend some parts of the watering system. Couldn’t recommend a stay with Tracie and Pete enough! :)

We couldn’t recommend a visit to Kirsten and Martin enough!! They’re both absolutely lovely people and their home and the local area are beautiful. Martin very kindly picked us up from Bairnsdale train station and gave us a lift to their place on the island. The ferry to the island is only about a 5 minute journey and it is only a 20 minute or so cycle from the ferry terminal to Kirsten and Martin’s. We stayed for 2 weeks and there is plenty to see and do in the local area. Kirsten is happy for people to borrow her bikes and kayaks. We didn’t have a car and would say you don’t need one to have a great time. We have been in Australia for a total of almost 8 weeks now and Raymond Island was by far the best place for wildlife we’ve stayed! It’s the only place we saw koalas and echidnas (and we saw both in abundance!) and every afternoon a group of kangaroos came to chill out in the garden. There’s also a whole host of birds in the garden too. The jobs mainly revolved around keeping the garden going- watering, weeding, kangaroo poo scooping. We also helped turn over the accommodation for the paying guests once and made a couple of batches for granola for breakfast for everyone, and did some cooking. Kirsten and Martin are very generous and welcoming and took us out to some of their favourite spots locally, including the Blue Gables vineyard for lunch one day and Metung Hot Springs. If you come and stay with them you’ll have the best time!

Makena stayed with us for over a week and it was a pleasure to host her. She helped in the garden, water blasting the deck, and helped sanding it. She tackled every task with enthusiasm, and completed it to a high standard. She loves to cook and surprised us every night with an amazing dinner. I was sick while she was hear and really appreciate all the help, especially the cooking and her lovely smile and caring nature. If you have the opportunity to host Makena, count yourself lucky.

We volunteered here a few months ago and it was an absolutely magical experience. Redang island is truly paradise and the campstay is really a special place. The work is pretty straightforward with a set schedule and usually consists of raking leaves, setting up/taking down tents, minimal cleaning, and leaving a mark by doing some artwork/decorations around the campstay. It was always very easy work and it was fun working with the other volunteers! You will also have plenty of free time to swim, snorkel and explore the island. All the staff were extremely friendly and made us feel like we were at home. We will definitely return soon.
