Luca is an open-minded, charming and pleasant person, and a helpful workawayer. He came to our place during the winter, and did not flinch at the bad weather, offering a helping hand with various tasks. Luca is sociable and communicative, and is open to trying new things as skating or skiing with a little encouragement. We had a positive experience hosting Luca as a workawayer, and can gladly recommend him to other hosts.

Wow. What a place. Being here has, hands down, been the most enriching experience of my life. To step into an unknown place and immediately find family, a home for my soul and probably the most valuable lessons I've learnt so far is something that will stay with me forever. Thank you does not suffice. Being here changed so much about the way I perceive and interact with life, the world and others. It puts true meaning to the word "community" - by cultivating an environment so full of passion and intention for co-creation, journeying through every emotional movement together and committing ourselves to protecting and nurturing a harmonious social space. It taught me so much about following the innate need to connect deeply with others, and it is a privilege to observe the effects of being in such close contact with beautiful people: that naturally the fibres of your being become woven into the tapestry of the community, with everyone's presence moving together in a wonderfully chaotic and ocassionally syncronised dance. Every shared experience, every seed put in the soil, every plant harvested, every meal cooked, every hug given, is evidence of the essence of community flowing through this place. It's very easy then to see the world glowing in more vibrant colours. I experienced years and years' worth of laughter, connection, hugs, play, purpose, happiness and freedom in just 2 and a half months of being here. This project attracts pure magic in human form, because it was built on it. Thank you, thank you, thank you Matteo and Walter, I can feel everything you have poured into this project radiating through me in freedom, joy and empowerment now, wherever I go. You have been a pivotal point in my life and I will never stop being grateful for you and for this experience. If you get the opportunity to enter this space, I hope you throw your whole being into it. The project is an absolute beauty, and if I could give it 1000 stars I would.

I spent three incredible weeks here, the place is wonderfull, the food is a delight, nature is wild and I discovered the whole process from cacao to chocolate. Thank you for your welcome and your kindness Adrian, Jackie, Marcelo and Ricardo, I hope to see you again one day !

David is a great person and a very helpful workawayer. He is polite and pleasant and adapted to our household with ease and grace. Davis is intelligent, independent, and responsible, and works well both together with others and on his own. Warmly recommended and welcome back any time.

Thank you to Rafa and Esmeralda for welcoming us to this peaceful place. They are very helpful and open to any suggestions. It was a pleasure to help them prepare for the arrival of winter. The place is very pretty and quiet, and it's easy to explore the surrounding area. I wish you all the best for the future! :)

This was our first Workaway experience and we absolutely loved it! Sophia and Raphael welcomed us into the family with open arms and together, we enjoyed delicious meals, nice day trips and cozy evenings together. Out hearts were completely captured by Gabriel, and of course the cats. ;)) We can't wait to return and see their vision for their new home come to live and flourish under all the love this family has to give! Thank you for everything.

J’ai passé un excellent séjour chez Jacqueline qui est une super hôte. Elle est très sympathique, à l’écoute, dans l’humain et le partage. Elle prend le temps de bien expliquer et montrer la manière dont elle aimerait que les choses soient faites. Elle me demandait souvent si tout se passait bien pour moi, ce qui est très agréable. Elle m’a fait découvrir une partie de sa vie ici et certaines connaissances sur divers sujets et je lui en remercie. Elle a fait en sorte d’adapter quand elle le pouvait le planning et les travaux en fonction de la météo pour que cela soit confortable pour moi. Les repas sont équilibrés, majoritairement végétariens et les aliments biologiques. C’est une femme engagée qui a un mode de vie conscient. Il est très facile de communiquer avec elle. J’ai travaillé 5h par jour du lundi au vendredi, et j’ai eu plaisir à partager ce temps ici dans ce bel environnement aux côtés de Jacqueline et sa chatte Banzaï. Je la recommande bien évidemment sans aucun problème. Merci encore Jacqueline pour tout ! 🙏

J’ai passé deux super semaines chez Oriana en novembre. C’était notre première expérience de Workaway à toutes les deux et ça c’est super bien passé. Oriana est une personne très attachante attachante et qui aime profondément ses animaux et la nature. Je me suis tout de suite super bien entendue avec elle. Ses animaux sont tous très gentils et faciles au quotidien. J’avais mon espace personnel pour dormir et prendre prendre mon petit déjeuner situé à côté de sa maison, c’était propre et très charmant. Les chemins de balade autour de chez elle sont magnifiques et m’ont permis d’observer à plusieurs reprises des daims (avant ça, je n’en avais jamais vu)! Oriana m’a également fait découvrir le lac Majeur et le lac d’Orta qui sont des endroits vraiment magnifiques ainsi que la ville de Milan. Mon travail consistait à nettoyer et graisser les cuirs, sortir les chevaux dans le paddock en herbe, nettoyer autour du râtelier et faire un coup de propre chez les autres animaux et autour du petit bâtiment où sont rangés les équipements. L’après midi on montait ensemble ou alors on allait visiter un endroit. À travers ce message je souhaite lui dire merci pour cette merveilleuse première expérience Workaway et mon tout premier voyage en Italie!!

Abi is a cheerful, sweet, and loving young lady who brought us so much courage. We shared many beautiful moments together. She is empathetic, understands what is needed, and acts right away. Being around Abi felt very comfortable and easy — we were like best friends, talking, joking, and laughing. She helped us organize our kitchen and took my son on long walks, which I truly appreciated. I wish her all the best on her journey of self-discovery, and I hope she builds a wonderful family and enjoys all the good things life has to offer.

Eirik was a top Workawayer. Very perseptive of our uncommon setup, he quickly found his way around without stress. Eirik also took on responsibilities beyond the expected, and did so very responsibly. We really enjoyed having him around, with his joyful personality and good sense of humor. We would welcome Eirik once again in a heart beat. But it is time to explore a bit the world, which will make him grow a lot. Safe travels and cool adventures, friend!

Mika, thank you so much for coming to stay with us. Your positive energy filled our home with happiness for these two weeks. You got along so naturally with our daughter and son, and we were really grateful for that. No wonder—you’re the eldest of ten siblings! Your cooking was also wonderful: light, gentle in flavor, and a perfect fit for our Japanese home. Thank you for all the amazing artwork you left behind, like the chalkboard drawings and the cardboard house. Your skills really impressed us—you picked up soba-making and sumi-e painting so quickly! We’re already looking forward to seeing you again in the near future!

Dima stayed with us for a month and helped us with many different tasks, such as roof repairs, bricklaying, gardening, raking leaves, and caring for the animals. He was definitely one of our best volunteers. He was very dedicated and motivated and did far more than we expected. He is very friendly and considerate; it was a great pleasure to host him. Lilli is a fantastic person and an exceptional workawayer. She was responsible for cleaning our camp facilities and washing dishes in our restaurant, and she always completed every task with dedication and care. Thanks to her hard work, our facilities were consistently clean, even during the busiest periods with many guests. Whenever extra help was needed around the camp, Lilli gladly stepped in. She is reliable, easy-going, and got along wonderfully with our team as well as with our guests. We would gladly welcome her back anytime. Thank you for being part of our family, Lilli!

Catherine a passé 2 semaines chez nous, à l'automne (2025). Nous nous sommes tout de suite bien entendus, et nous avons passé des moments très agréables, joyeux et enrichissants en sa compagnie. Catherine est très débrouille et bricoleuse, toujours motivée et pleine d'entrain. Elle a créé une chouette complicité avec notre fille, et nous a aussi partagé son univers et ses réflexions. Un bel échange où nous avons beaucoup appris les uns des autres. Une belle rencontre, et une collaboration simple et fluide. Catherine, merci pour tout, et tout de bon pour tes beaux projets! Et, à une revoyure on espère, tu seras toujours la bienvenue chez nous.

This was my first Workaway and I could not be more grateful for the experience I had with this wonderful family. I'm already planning a trip back! Veera and Tuomas were such kind and lovely company. The girls are so full of life and it was an honour getting to know their different personalities. I also enjoyed walks with Robi through the beautiful surroundings. I will definitely be recreating rice porridge and pulla as soon as I get home!

I honestly don't know where to start to describe my experience here. Francis is a wonderful person and, from the very first days, you can immediately see his interest in helping those most in need. In a world where everyone thinks only about their own business and is not interested in others, he has created a space in the community for all those children who do not have the funds to go to school. During my month and a half there, I really felt part of Francis' project and dream, because as volunteers we had the opportunity not only to help the teachers in the nursery school as best we could, but also to contribute with ideas and opinions on the work they do every day at Kigungu. I left for two main reasons: the first was to have a different experience and learn as much as possible about the local culture and way of life, and the second was to find an association to sponsor and promote once I returned home. With the help of several members of my family, we managed to organise five sponsorships and, from February, five children will have the opportunity to start primary school. I had the privilege of getting to know their reality and living like a local for a month, spending time with Francis' wonderful family. I recommend all travellers to consider this association, because it will allow you to have an authentic and exciting local experience. Living with a local family will allow you to truly immerse yourself in the local culture and make you feel like an integral part of the project. I will miss you all. Marc is a super lively, smiley person full of energy. We had a lot of fun playing card games, going to the gym and dancing together. We already miss having him in our family❤️ Our crazy was matched 😜 Until next year!

I have stayed at Ilka's multiple times, and I thought I would share some highlights from my visits! Ilka is a wonderful person to sit and chat with (especially in the company of her delicious baked goods and dinners), she has a very in-depth and broad knowledge of gardening and self-sufficiency and can teach you a lot about it! I helped out with a few smaller tasks around the house, like digging holes, planting seedlings and moving dirt from one place to another. She made sure not to overwork me :D Thank you so much for the nice stays, I felt welcomed every time and hope I could be of help!

El tiempo que pasamos con Joanna se nos hizo muy corto. Se adaptó al trabajo de la huerta muy bien, realizando su trabajo de forma tranquila pero con mucha minuciosidad, es una persona muy perfeccionista. Creo que nadie ha limpiado tan bien las fresas como ella. También se mostró como una persona con iniciativa propia que realizaba a veces tareas que no se le había pedido. Gracias a ella tenemos un congelador lleno de judías verdes para todo el invierno. A nivel personal es tranquila y agradable (menos cuando gana a las cartas que entonces enloquece :) ) La convivencia es muy fácil con ella y creo que nos faltó tiempo para crear lazos más fuertes, así que esperamos que algún día vuelva otra vez a Finca Topo. La recomendamos 100%
