My 2 weeks long stay at Slim's farm in June was definitely one of my best workaway experiences. He communicated very clearly, was flexible with the schedule and we had great chats during breakfast. I had the chance to try various tasks from gardening to content making and painting. Slim always considered my preferences and abilities when deciding on what to work on that day. It was the only place so far where I was asked for ideas and was listened to as well. The whole family was exceptionally lovely, helpful and open-minded. I think of those two weeks with nostalgy, hoping to visit again someday.

Anahi and Augustin have been fantastic! :-)

Here, I found what I was looking for in my first Workaway experience: a place to learn about self-sustainability and a healthy lifestyle that respects nature. Angelo and Simona are excellent hosts—always attentive, eager to teach, and curious to learn from other cultures. Their home is nestled in a place that embodies all the beauty and generosity of the Abruzzese countryside, making it highly recommended for anyone seeking inspiration in the heart of Italy. To sum up, I gained a life-improving experience and a beautiful friendship.

Wavy and Max are an adventurous and inspiring couple. They came by bikes from Sweden with a great goal to cycle to India. Crazy!!! :)) The higher purpose of this journey is spreading the idea of food sovereignty and probably much more. It makes them very special and unique with their outreach. Within their stay (one week) they helped us with the chickens, weeding the plants and our children. They played very nicely with them, especially Wavy and our older son were a match! Water balloon battles or sliding the slide – it was a lot of fun! They also spontaneously came with an idea to bake a Swedish cake (Kladdkaka) for our son for his birthday, which was very nice. We have tried another Swedish sweet (Chokladbollar) as well. Those two very young people have a great journey in front of themselves; they are eager to see all the countries and have the will and the power to be part of a change in this world. However sometimes I missed more responsibility regarding the punctuality or saving the water and energy sources… Anyway, it was cool to have them here and we wish them a lot of luck with their biking dream :).

Caroline and Will were an absolute joy to host! From the moment they arrived, they were friendly, respectful, and eager to help with whatever was needed. On top of being hardworking and reliable, they are genuinely kind and considerate people, and it was a real pleasure to have them around. We would welcome them back anytime and highly recommend them to any future hosts. Thank you, Caroline and Will for a lovely experience, we hope to see you again one day!

It was my first Workaway experience, and I was very happy to be welcomed so warmly. My English is not fluent, and I especially need some time when speaking, but Rami and the other Workawayers were very kind. The tasks were simple, and after work, he took us to the lake and prepared the sauna, so I was able to experience Finnish culture. Thank you for a wonderful time. I hope the cabin turns out beautifully.

I spent two wonderful weeks with Laure and her family this July, and it was an experience I’ll always carry with me. She takes exceptional care of her volunteers—organizing inspiring activities in the area, preparing extraordinary meals, and sharing her knowledge of a more harmonious way of living. She also supported me so much with my French, always taking extra time and patience to explain things I didn’t understand. Working alongside her in the garden became more than just work—it turned into a learning experience, as she explained each step with clarity and passion. Even though we sometimes had different points of view, there was always space for honest conversation and meaningful exchange. I felt completely safe, welcomed, and cared for in her home, and I’m deeply grateful for the time we shared.

We’ve just come back from our experience in Australia with Rachel and David, and we couldn’t be more grateful. We spent an incredible month working and sharing moments with them, and they welcomed us into their home as if we were part of the family. From day one, they made us feel comfortable, always making sure we had everything we needed, caring both about the work and our free time. Living together was easy, natural, and very enriching. We learned so much—not only from the work itself, but also from life in the countryside, the language, Australian culture, and a completely different way of living. Thanks to Rachel and David, we discovered beautiful places, tried local foods, and experienced things we never would have on our own. And of course, we can’t forget Dotty and Jazzy, the sweetest dogs who filled our days with fun and cuddles, or the absolute craziness of the alpacas, who made every single day more entertaining. We leave with the feeling that we’ve gained a second family on the other side of the world. We’ll always be thankful to Rachel and David for the kindness, patience, and trust they gave us. Without a doubt, we recommend this experience to anyone considering it: you won’t just find a place to work, but also a home where you’ll feel welcome from the very first minute.

It was such a pleasure to have Lydia with us! She is : - Hard-working - Adaptable - Capable - Intelligent - Strong - Trustworthy She is also a kind and easy-going person. Nothing was too much trouble and she did everything with good grace. This was a wonderful Workaway experience for me, my 80 year old mother and our assortment of pets! The difference Lydia made in just 10 days was significant and I’m extremely grateful to her. While I was away Lydia not only took complete charge of the house, pool and grounds but also looked after my mother and the four ‘furries’. She took extra care of our special needs cat and kept me constantly updated. We all miss Lydia and would love to have her back any time.

After being in Thailand for more than two months already, I finally found what I was hoping for the whole time: spending a lot of time with locals, and learning so much about all different kind of things in Thailand. I've only spend 5 full days with Kitti, Khwan, Pei, grandma and Pen, but it made my trip so much richer. From the bottom of my heart a big "Khop Khun Ka" to all of you for taking me into your family in no time, and for all the trips in and around Ayutthaya you've been taking us on. There is always a couple of different projects Kitti and Khwan are working on. So expect to work the 5 hours a day you agreed to because there is always something to do :) Depending on your interests and skills, you can help with building, repairing, with gardening, cleaning, and so on. I helped with some designs in Canva, with the garden (mostly weeding in the very early mornings because after that it's just too hot), with cleaning around the house, with preparing the newly rented hotel for opening and I volunteered in the smoothie stand. There wasn't much planning, a strict structure or schedule, the day developed rather spontaneously and sometimes there have been even mixed messages about what to expect next, but in my opinion, this is part of the experience :) I am highly recommending staying with the family, you will definitely come out richer, you will eat great food and meet a bunch of lovely people!

I had the most wonderful time staying with Akanksha, Sven, and their little daughter Mira. They are such kind and welcoming souls, and from the very first day, we felt at home. In just 10 days, I got to meet so many amazing people and be part of a beautiful community that felt so special. Spending time with Mira was a joy, she’s so adorable, smart, and truly adds a unique energy to the place. The tasks we did were simple yet meaningful, and alongside the work, there were plenty of fun experiences. On our very first day, Akanksha took us to a permaculture party, and throughout the stay, we got to enjoy things like a trip to a beautiful river near Anghiari, attending a medieval festival, and even experiencing a body-painting session by a Colombian artist who was staying there too. I also got to experience what its like to be a part of a Womens circle for the first time and that was such an empowering experience and I really thank Akanksha from the bottom of my heart :)) I personally loved the deep and inspiring conversations I had with Akanksha she’s incredibly sweet, smart, and I learned so much from her, especially about permaculture and sustainable living and just Life in general . The whole atmosphere was so full of warmth, connection, and energy exchange, which made the stay unforgettable. This is truly a special place, perfect for anyone who wants to learn, share, and experience community living. I’m so grateful for the time we shared, and I already miss them and the memories we created together. Thank you so much for such a lovely stay!! keep shining, and God bless.

We stayed with Avi, Margaret and Sveik for a bit more than a week just before our departure from our year-long adventure in New Zealand. They were very helpful from the very beginning, as we had many things to sort out before leaving the country. We enjoyed learning about composting, of which we had basic knowledge before, but learning from Avi and seeing his passion made us more enthusiast! We really appreciated the clear communication, and the dinners that we shared together were wonderful! We are excited to see how the garden project goes on with the next workawayers :)

We stayed with Gemma, Garth, Diggy and Raph for a few weeks just after arriving to New Zealand. They were so helpful while we struggled to find the perfect campervan, to open our bank account, and to make our plans for the whole year. It was a pleasure to help them around the house, as we had diverse tasks inside,as well as in the garden. Oh what a beautiful and cosy home it is, with such a chill and lovely family! It was great to see how they manage everything, sharing the tasks, like role models :) We are grateful that we could get introduced to New Zealand by you! Thanks heaps!

Ruben was another fantastic volunteer. His dedication and sense of responsibility were top-notch, and his relationships with other volunteers were absolutely great. He handled every task we gave him at the farm smoothly and without any issues. I wish him the best of luck on his journey and hope we’ll meet again soon. Best, Burak.

Dear Julia, Chris, Leonas, and Levi, It was such a great chance for us to be their very first workawayers. We spent one week together with their lovely family. Aykut helped Chris with the garden work — together they built a children’s playground, worked on the garden gate, and fixed the fence. I also helped in the garden, spent some time with their sweet boys, and gave a hand with a few house tasks. They live in a beautiful neighborhood, and their home is wonderful. They provided us with a comfortable place to stay as a family — the apartment was just downstairs from their home and had everything we needed. When we first arrived, they kindly picked us up from the train station, and when we left, they also dropped us off — such a thoughtful gesture. Both Julia and Chris have a background in traveling, so we had lots of inspiring conversations about journeys and experiences. We also talked about German culture and food, which was really nice. Julia also took us to a park with big inflatable toys where the children had so much fun, and we really enjoyed it. Our daughters really enjoyed spending time with Leonas and Levi. Leonas and Levi are such cutie pies, we already miss them! The food was delicious — Julia is such a great cook! Thank you so much for opening your home to us. We hope to see you again in the future.

Hasan is a super fun guy, always happy and spreading positive vibes. We had a blast together for nearly three months. Even though Hasan claims to be the all-time top-scoring volunteer, I have to point out that most of his "goals" came from his shoe flying off and hitting the net! :D Jokes aside, Hasan was an awesome volunteer. I’m sure we’ll meet again soon. Best wishes, Burak.

I enjoyed spending two weeks with Ami and her son Mihai, in the beautiful region of Banatul Montan. From the first moment, Ami proved to be a very welcoming and open host. I appreciated her positive attitude and energy, the fact that she is an easy-going person, as well as her sense of humor. Also, we had some deep and interesting conversations together, in which time seemed to be compressed. Mihai is a well-educated, obedient and sociable little boy and it is a pleasure to see him playing freely, in the natural environment, like the one in Bocșa. I am glad that I had this positive experience and I am confident that even though I live at the other end of the country, we will meet again.

We are very happy to have joined this camp as a family. In August 2025, we took part in the last summer camp in Liddes. I volunteered as an English teacher, my husband helped in the kitchen, and our daughters enjoyed the camp to the fullest. Besides these roles, we also organized some workshops and led group games during the evening activities. We were the first family to volunteer together in this camp. Usually, the camp is run with the experience of volunteers who have been joining these courses for many years. It was a wonderful opportunity to meet amazing people. Liddes is a small Swiss village, very peaceful and quiet. Apart from your main duties, if there is space, you can also join other camp activities. There is the chance to work with volunteers from all around the world, and everyone does their work with joy in a harmonious environment. The food was delicious, and the accommodation was excellent. Thank you very much for accepting us as a family. We truly hope to have the chance to work with you again in the future.
