    About Us
We are a family of four living in Hamamatsu City, Shizuoka Prefecture (father, mother, a 4-year-old daughter, and a 1-year-old son, as of April 2026). Hamamatsu is located roughly halfway between Tokyo and Osaka.

To reach our home, please take the Shinkansen to Hamamatsu Station, then transfer to the Enshu Railway and get off at Enshu-Shibamoto Station (about 30 minutes). From there, it is a 5-minute drive to our house. We will pick you up by car at the station.

We are looking for someone who enjoys spending time with children, is used to cooking in daily life, and is interested in Japanese cuisine and fermentation culture.

In April 2026, we moved to a new home with a 600 m² field next to it, where children can play freely. We are now starting from scratch to build both a small farm and a community space.

We sincerely appreciate anyone who would like to support this meaningful step for our family and children.

    ■ Food & Culture
We especially welcome people who are interested in traditional Japanese cuisine, fermented foods, and soba (buckwheat noodles).

The host is currently learning how to make soba from scratch. If you're interested, we can also introduce you to a soba noodle making experience (optional, fee applies).

    ■ About Your Stay
We do not provide a luxurious lifestyle, but we offer:
    • Free accommodation
    • Dinner ingredients on working days

Meals are simple, home-style, and budget-friendly (around 400 yen per person).
Sometimes we cook and eat together, but participation is optional.

Breakfast and lunch are self-catered at your own expense.
On your days off, dinner is also your responsibility.

(We usually provide dinner on your check-in day.)

    ■ Your Tasks
    • Helping with farming
    • Cleaning the house and tidying the garden
    • Playing with our children
    • Other small household tasks as needed

    ■ Working Hours
    • About 4 hours per day
    • Up to approximately 20 hours per week
    • 2 days off per week

Hours and tasks may vary depending on the day, and some days may be lighter.

    ■ What We’re Looking For
    • Someone who enjoys spending time with children
    • Someone who likes cooking and has experience preparing meals
    • Someone interested in Japanese food, fermentation, and traditional culture
    • Japanese speakers are especially welcome (but not required)
    • Cooperative, flexible, and positive attitude
    • Someone who respects house rules

Please note that this place may not be suitable for those who prioritize complete personal freedom at all times, as we value cooperation and shared living.

    ■ Communication

Our English is basic, but we truly value communication.

We are happy to communicate using gestures, body language, AI tools, and Google Translate. Let’s support each other and learn together.

    Final Message

We hope you will enjoy cultural exchange with us while experiencing a simple and down-to-earth Japanese family lifestyle.

We are looking forward to meeting you.

    Ajuda

We are looking for help with farming, DIY projects, and spending time with our children.
Typical tasks include farm, playing with our daughter and son, housework, and maintenance work, etc.

    ⏰ Working hours
We ask for help approximately 4hours per day, up to 5 days a week (maximum 20 hours per week).
The schedule may vary depending on weather, family needs, and ongoing projects, but we will always discuss and agree on it together in advance.

    🍽 Meals and food arrangement
On the days you help us, we will provide ingredients for one dinner per person.
On your days off, meals are not provided, and you will need to buy and prepare your own food.

Dinner responsibilities will be shared and discussed case by case.
If you are not comfortable cooking, please let us know in advance — in that case, you can help with cleaning instead.

Sometimes we will eat together as a family, and sometimes separately.

    🏡 Living together expectations
This is a shared living experience, not just work.
    We expect everyone to:
    • Keep shared spaces clean and tidy
    • Respect house rules and family life
    • Communicate openly if there are any concerns

    👶 About future vision
In the future, we hope to create activities that support children in the local community, and we appreciate people who are interested in this vision.

    📅 Length of stay
First stays are limited to a maximum of 2 weeks, even if we have availability.

    ⚠️ Important notes
If it becomes difficult to follow the rules, or if we feel the arrangement is not a good fit for either side, we may ask to end the stay early.
In that case, we will give at least 3 days’ notice.

You may also shorten your stay if needed — please inform us at least 3 days in advance.

    🚭 Smoking policy
Due to my wife’s asthma, smoking is not allowed.

Shizuoka Prefectural Forest Park is a 25-minute walk away and is perfect for walking and hiking.

The nearest station on the Tenryu Hamanako Railroad is a 13-minute walk from our house, offering a great way to explore the local area.

Another station on the Enshu Railway is about a 28-minute walk away, providing easy access to downtown Hamamatsu.

Hamamatsu is also known as the home of Yamaha headquarters.
There is also a museum where you can try various musical instruments for free with a reservation, which we highly recommend.
