Amazing experience, my best Workaway so far and if I could come back next year I would gladly do so. The days basically went like this. Waking up, having breakfast and waiting for Leandro to arrive. When he comes and he's got the tractor running we all go to the olive field with him. At the field we start collecting, three people with the pneumatic rakes combing the trees clean of olives and the other ones moving the nets onto which the olives fall. After a while Giuseppe, Angela and Sandra arrives with the generously prepared sandwiches and we have lunch as well as some coffee in the shade of the trees. Then we work for another while until Leandro decides it's enough, usually 5 hours or less in total. Then we take all the olives to the oil factory and turn them in. After that the working day is finished and we return home where you can always find a cold beer as reward for the day's work. Sometimes we just sit and talk for hours, other times we go to the beach, which is 30 minutes away, or somewhere else. Then in the evening you can always be sure that you'll have a delicious dinner, and there's no reason to worry about going hungry. The free days are agreed upon and during those we once went to a hike into the mountainous landscape by Fara San Martino and another time to the see side area of San Vito where we cruised by the water on rented bikes for a day. Somehow I almost forgot to mention the wine festival of Perano, which would almost be a crime. Small, picturesque streets in a little town where for one weekend of the year the wine, food and music is flowing like water from a river. I'll make use of no more words to describe it, it has simply got to be experienced. I want to thank you all very, very much for your generosity, kindness and for giving me this experience. I'd also like to thank all the other volunteers who made it all even better, though I doubt you'll all read this. I now have memories that, unless I hit my head very hard, will never go away. Thank you!

Working at the school has been an unforgettable experience. I was welcomed so warmly by Nui, the teachers, and all the students. Thank you so much, Hani, for these memorable moments that were possible thanks to you! I’m grateful for all the love I was able to give and receive, and that’s why I truly recommend this experience to everyone!

Delia stayed with us at our hiking refuge for 3 weeks, and we cannot recommend her highly enough! From the moment she arrived, she immediately became part of our comminity. She is a confident and resourceful young woman who tackled every task with enthusiasm and competence. She is very skilled and capable and truly got stuck in from day one. She worked independently and was always eager to help with whatever was needed, from cleaning to maintenance, and kitchen help. We had lots of interesting talks together and I'm glad to had the opportunity to know her. We recommend her wholeheartedly to any future host bye Deliaaaa come back to visit ❤️

Ohhh Julia!! Es increíble cómo en tan poco tiempo se puede uno acostumbrar a esta persona tan maravillosa. La echamos mucho de menos por aquí. Ha sido un ejemplo de trabajo, gratitud, amor, esfuerzo, vivir la vida como "se debe vivir". Por supuesto, yo personalmente, hecho de menos esas mañanas con ella, realmente tiene un pedacito de mi corazón y un pedacito del corazón de cada uno de nosotros. Por supuesto, recomendaría a Julia como voluntaria al 100%! Se puede adaptar a cualquier trabajo con dedicación y amor. En este caso necesité mucha ayuda con la casa y los niños, y de verdad, es increíble cómo lo tomo como suyo, no podría agradecer con palabras los "días de liberación" que me dio. La casa nunca estuvo tan bien (y no es fácil con tantas personas, niños y animales varios jeje). De verdad entendió la necesidad y colaboró siempre, no sólo como voluntaria, si no que también sentí que lo hizo suyo de corazón como una más de la familia (la más ordenada por cierto jeje). Es una chica alegre, espontánea, amable con todos (niños y animales)... Aún mi hija pequeña escribe su nombre, mamá, papá y Julia... Fue muy bonito conocerla y disfrutamos juntos conociendo playas y pueblos de Cantabria. Ojalá hubieramos compartido más tiempo, pero siempre tendrá su hogar aquí en "lacasadetimmy". Recomiendo infinitamente a Julia, tendréis mucha ayuda y buena energía garantizada :)

Michelle joined us for around 3 weeks in Autumn and did an amazing job helping with a wide variety of tasks around the farm. She willingly and cheerfully tackled both strenuous tasks, such as hurling heavy logs down a hill for processing, and tiresome, tedious tasks such as carefully picking billions of cherry tomatoes, collecting billions of fallen chestnuts, and peeling said chestnuts for hours on end. Not to mention the back-breaking task of picking kiwis while perched on a ladder. We especially appreciated the amazing job she did of clearing invasive bramble and rock rose from the area around our solar panels, and we were impressed that she not only did whatever she did to a very high standard, and slaved away for much longer than we expected her to, but also that she still found the energy to explore thd area and go on long walks by herself. We loved hosting her, and greatly appreciated her flexibility, her curiosity and interest in our rural environment, and her joyful willingness to work outside her comfort zones. Hope she come back for another visit!

We spent almost Three weeks with Cynthia and it was a real pleasure to share a part of her life. We went to Sixilla, in a beautiful colonial house deep in Bolivia, in La Paz in her nice and quiet house and in Coroico, la casa de Campo familial, also a very nice place with stunning views on the Valley. The work is very varied, doing irrigation, clean the garden, planting, cooking, cutting branches, doing some handywork. All done with great energy and happy feeling. We ate very good with all vegetables and fruits she bought, making home bread, bbq, and even Pizza and Pedro's recipe in the big wood stove. We had also very nice conversations in english/spanich around a bottle of wine and our rooms were always nice and confortable. A perfect workaway we recommend to anyone with positive energy. Thanks to Cinthia and Pedro for their warm welcome.

Nikhil is a really kindhearted and humble person. He is dedicated to helping as many people as possible, and he plans to do so by giving space for self love and self expression to all who find themselves at his ashram. He is very adamant about making sure his volunteers only do what they want to be doing-so the experience will be what you make of it. Thank you Nikhil for all of your help and wisdom!

I spent 3 weeks here with Micaela and John, the 4 pooches, 3 horses, Michel and the other workawayers. It was a bittersweet farewell and I'm booked to come back already! Micaela and John work hard to provide and cultivate a community in their home and the whole experience was unreal! The rhythm, experience and pace of life here was unparalleled! I assisted with everything and no two days were the same! Painting, sanding, scraping, grooming and working with the dogs and the horses, looking after Buster when he had colic, cleaning tack, gardening and transplanting trees, cleaning the pool and surrounds ( 🤣😵‍💫IYKYK ) cleaning the kitchen, errands, collecting and welcoming other workawayers, demolishing rooms - the list was endless if you can put your mind to it. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for the joyous weeks and bringing my French journey back to life.

I originally planned to stay 2 weeks with Jane but ended up staying one more as her warmth is incredibly tenacious. Jane's love for life, culture, the environment, and travel gave way to insightful conversations, and she also gave me tips and tricks for caring for her dog, Maddie, who is an absolute sweetheart. There were plenty of things for me to do around the house and farm as well. I also enjoyed sightseeing in the smaller towns nearby, which was great. I recommend Jane as a host to any WorkAwayer in Australia! You won't regret it :)

Gustav joined us for a week at the tail end of summer. Despite his short stay, he made himself extremely useful, not only around the farm, but also using his photography skills to help me compile a portfolio of my artworks to contact two potential art galleries. We loved hosting this serious, cheerful and hard-working young man, really appreciated his help, and hope he returns for a longer stay so we can get to know him better.

I had an incredible first workaway experience aboard the boat !! Daniël is a kind and trustworthy person who created a safe environment, I felt right at home :) During our sailing journey, we got to learn a lot from his sailing experience. Daniël is patient, understanding and explains everything calmly, which makes learning easy. He is also always happy to share a good time with workawayers ! Thank you once again, I had a greaaaat time, À une prochaine fois !

It was a pleasure to host Eliška. She is a friendly, calm and helpful young woman which was travelling for the first time to a workaway place. It was an honour that she choose us for this experience. I had to explain only a few things and everything was working in a nice and reliable way the next day. Eliška had always an open eye for stuff that needed also some attention ;-) , but hasn't been on the list. She had a good overview an organisation of the daily tasks. There was no doubt leaving her alone (with the animals) when I was staying overnight somewhere else. You knew that everything was working well. I enjoyed to talk to her and I would have liked to know her better. All the best for you!!

I spent a great time at George&Carin's place. It was my first time being with other workawayers, which was super fun. It was a lively place with lots of people and 3 big dogs with strong and distinct personality. We did variety of tasks. We picked and pressed grapes, bottled the wine, weeded, fed animals and cleaned. George taught us how to drive a tractor, and I really enjoyed it. George cooks amazing dinner, and sometimes we cooked international food. Carin makes delicious pies and she taught us how to crochet and knit. After dinner we sometimes crocheted, played boardgame or went to hot tub. We saw many starry nights in the hot tub and when doing barnfires. George and Carin also took us to many great places in southern Ontario. Sunset in Grand Bend, swimming in Georgian Bay, sunrise in Niagara falls... We spent Thanksgiving and Halloween together and I was able to carve a pumpkin and dress up for the first time! It was a memorable experience and I miss everyone! I will definitely come back.

I had a great time staying in Taichung with Yuzhen and her family! Yuzhen and her husband both speak perfect English, and their son Randy speaks pretty good English as well (and I'm sure Connie will too once she's a bit older). I really enjoyed doing a cultural presentation for the children at Yuzhen's school and for the community children, and I also got to do a presentation for Randy's class. The kids were all really friendly and curious to learn about Australia! I found that Yuzhen communicated very clearly, and I appreciated that I always knew what was expected of me. I also felt very welcomed by their family, and they brought me to do a lot of fun activities with them, like camping and singing in a choir. We had dinner together most nights, and I really enjoyed Yuzhen's cooking!

Our stay with David and Laurie was truly wonderful. It was our first time as Workawayers, our first experience in Canada, and we couldn’t have hoped for a better beginning. As new permanent residents, they helped us understand this country in a very special and authentic way. We arrived as Workawayers and hosts… and left feeling like we were leaving family. We shared cultures, stories, knowledge, and even our cooking. Every conversation was rich and meaningful, and we learned so much from their experiences and from their kindness. The place is beautiful, surrounded by peaceful woods where deer pass by every day. Working outside, cutting woods, clearing trails, or taking care of small tasks never felt like work. We enjoyed helping, and even the teamwork on rebuilding the woodcover tent was satisfying and fun. David and Laurie were patient, generous, and always willing to explain things when we didn’t understand. Thank you, David and Laurie, for the unforgettable memories. How to describe such an amazing experience in a few words? Culture, laughs and delicious and healthy italian home-made meals! From the minute we arrived at Carmela and Pasquale's house, we felt welcomed and at home. They are an extremely warm and charismatic couple, who constantly goes above and beyond expectations to make you feel good and happy! The work itself, olive harvesting, was harder than we imagined, at least for the first few days, afterwhich your body gets used to. It was however very satisfying to see the results when we visited the oil transformation shop, we absolutely loved it! Immersing ourselves in Italian culture was exactly what we were looking for, and we were blessed to live it both while working in the field with Pasquale and his friends and family, as well as at home with Carmela. Carmela is an amazing cook who was happy to make us discover italian ways to prepare and enjoy excellent meals. She also took the time to take us to Montescaglioso to visit her beautiful home town, and provided multiple knowledgeable and interesting insights. Bottom line, we could not hope for a more fulfilling adventure! Thank you again Carmela and Pasquale, we will never forget, and we hope we see you again in the near future! xx

Alex’s profile pictures show how much she enjoys work. She is very modest, has stamina, acts mindfull, enjoys the company of people, dogs and sheep, is organised and fitted into our household seamlessly. She has left behind a vegetable garden that’s ready for winter and lots of firewood for the year to come, as well as warm memories of thoughtful conversations. We would love to welcome her back. Wholeheartedly recommended!

Sofi and Mads was by me around 10 days. Time that we share together was nice and we underestand as very good.Sofi and Mad help me in lot of woorks.Great work in garden where Sofi and Mad prepare our garden for new start.and nice work with honey,also lot of work in our living room what was all great help for me.Free time with Mad and Sofi is same nice and good like a working time.Also we have nice weather all the time,so we spend some hours walkin in forest..hike around eria,or share time like dinars or lunch together.we a very satisfay with this nice and lovely couple,and one more time thank you Sofi and Mads for your help and choice to come to our house.our hearts and house is open for you to come eny time again.God be with you and protect you on your journey! È difficile raccontare in poche righe tutta la bellezza e il valore umano e pratico che Flor ha portato nella nostra famiglia. Durante il mese che ha trascorso qui, è stata un aiuto davvero prezioso per la gestione e cura del casale, si è occupata con affetto e presenza di galline e cani, ha ristemato e valorizzato con maestria e visione il giardino, ha organizzato workshop creativi che hanno avuto un bellissimo riscontro. Ma soprattutto è stata una presenza attenta, luminosa, comunicativa e brillante. Efficente e pratica nella gestione delle cose da fare, discreta ed empatica rispetto alle dinamiche della famiglia. Abbiamo avuto molti momenti di scambio e confronto intensi e profondi, e per tutti noi resterà nel cuore come un incontro straordinario, per il quale ci sentiamo sinceramente grati ♡
