What a great first time experience for me as a host! Anika has been such a helpful, easy, fun, caring, sensible, interesting young person to have around. They have been reliable and shown initiative. We've enjoyed lots of interesting chats, jokes and personal stories. It was a relief to find they quickly learned what was required/desired, in terms of tasks and household arrangements. I highly recommend Anika and wish them the absolute best adventures here in Australia!

I spent four weeks with Groni and Dean in Piemonte, and I had a really good time with them. We shared many great conversations. The work, always in the mornings, was sometimes tough but also very varied, so it never felt boring. The house is still in the process of being renovated, and there’s definitely a lot left to do, but even now it’s already a beautiful place with so much charm and potential. The surroundings are stunning—right in the middle of nature, with a river flowing directly through the garden. There are lovely hiking trails nearby, and the landscape changes beautifully with the light. Overall, it was a warm, enriching stay, and I’m grateful for the time I shared with them.

Kestrel and Allyson were such easygoing fun people to have around, we loved having them stay with us and have been missing their company since they left! They were so patient and loving with the kids, so tolerating of all the adjustments to a house with babies, and oh man, have we been missing their food - they cooked some of the best vegan food we've eaten, we're almost convinced to go vegan too! We're so happy to have met them and hope they have the best time experiencing Australia in the months to come!

This was my first Workaway experience, and my week in Rossano was truly unforgettable. Eugenio, his family and his friends are open minded, and incredibly warm. They made me feel like part of their family from the first day. The work was enjoyable, and the activities they organized were very local and very special. It was a unique life experience that I will always remember. Eugenio and Ettore speak Spanish very well. Even though my English is not perfect, I felt that I could communicate with them easily, and my English speaking also improved during my stay. A big thank you to the two lovely girls, Livia and Helle. Wherever they are, there is always laughter and bright smiles. I truly recommend this host to anyone. It was an amazing experience.

It was such a fun experience! I went together with my twin sister, and we had a great time. Athir gave us plenty of space to relax and enjoy nature. Being so close to the sea and the forest was incredible, and we loved having time to truly appreciate both. The host, Athir, was super kind and friendly, and we quickly became friends. He’s one of those people who makes you feel completely welcome, as if you’ve known each other forever. So, thank you for the experience and for everything you taught us Athir! We’ll definitely keep practicing our juggling skills on our next adventures!

Our stay with Miguel was truly wonderful. We spent two weeks with him, Nuno, and Isabela, and everyone was incredibly warm and welcoming. We had lots of great conversations and shared many lovely dinners together. We worked outside in the garden, did some cooking and helped a bit with a roof renovation, which unfortunately collapsed during our stay… but even then, the atmosphere remained positive ! We also took part in several events at the cultural association, including a beautiful poetry night, a fun karaoke evening, and an amazing concert. The vibe of the place is incredibly calming and full of kindness :) We’re very grateful for the experience and the people we met. We wish you all the best for your future projects and hope we'll manage to come back soon! Clem and Max

We had an absolutely wonderful experience with Michel and Felina. They are genuinely beautiful people and it was enriching to have them in our home. They were respectful of our space and listened and followed instructions, they were engaged and put a lot of effort into the work they did with us. And best, of all, they were just beautiful with the kids. We really miss having them around and can 100% recommend them to future hosts.

Unfortunately, our experience hosting Andrea was disappointing. We had arranged for her to help my parents pick olives while we took a rare two-day break. Instead, without informing me directly, she asked my parents to take her to the bus station and left the farm abruptly. I only learned she had gone after the fact. If she was unhappy or if something wasn’t working for her, she could and should have communicated that to us. We are always open to discussion and would have tried to help or adjust things. Leaving without any communication put my parents in a difficult position and left important work unfinished at a time when reliability is essential — we don’t often get to leave in summer because of fire risks. Thankfully, a last-minute Workawayer, Vince, stepped in and helped finish the olive picking, but the situation caused unnecessary stress and disruption. Based on this experience, I cannot recommend her to hosts who depend on clear communication and basic reliability.

It is unfortunate that Emma could not join us as she has to leave for some emergency at home. However, Manon volunteered at the farm for 2 weeks. She is a pleasure to host and able to do the work assigned to her well. She gets along well with the family and other volunteers.. I am sure the chicken are missing her now. If you need some help at your farm, i would recommend Emma as she is responsible, punctual and she does a good job..!

My two weeks with Arturo in Tuscany were truly special. The olive harvest was a beautiful experience in itself, but doing it with someone as passionate as Arturo made it even more special. His enthusiasm was contagious, and I loved learning from him. The meals he cooked were always fresh, healthy, and incredibly tasty. And the fresh olive oil is absolutely amazing. His home felt warm and inviting from the moment I arrived. It was clean, charming, and had everything I needed to feel comfortable. The atmosphere during my stay was calm and peaceful, and we had many wonderful conversations. I would happily come back anytime and would recommend it to anyone!

What a wonderful journey and stay has been in Pontremoli with Ezio, Valeri and little adorable Elio. Cuddled between 'Grande' woods and waterfalls slowly a wonderful community is raising. Both Valeri and Ezio were very kind, organized and warm during my short stay. Very much enjoyed our cooking experiments with Valeri and how we would add things and play with it. She is a very caring mother that brings new ways of motherhood and breaking old norms and rules. Ezio has always made sure that I got everything I need and we had very interesting and profound conversation that I appreciate.Cannot emphasize how wonderful was spending time with Elio, drawing and just learning things together💚 Also we visited the town Pontremoli which is a 10min drive, piccolo but very warm, with green markets and interesting shops. Luckily also at the time I was staying, there was a village event that the people gathered and enjoyed pasta made from chestnuts. Well that was something!! Overall I am very grateful to be the first volunteer that has felt this place and it will surely grown into a beautiful community. I arrived in Germany in a rather poor state, having all of my luggage stolen before arrival, in a terrible mood with a rather bleak outlook on how my stay would be. But despite this, almost immediately I felt at home with Elke and the other workers. The work is very fair and never leaves you exhausted, the area is beautiful, and the horses are magnificent, but the most important part of my stay was learning about horses. it's my first time working with these animals properly, and Elke imparted all the knowledge I needed to not only work with them, but to understand them. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay, I feel like I have left the black forest rich with experience, and I would suggest this farm stay to ANYONE who wants to learn the basics of equine husbandry. on top of this, the environment with volunteers was rich with history and Elke shared many stories and recipes from around the world. I could only have been so lucky to have left a recipe of my own from England, Cal's Yorkshire puddings ;) This workaway is an absolute MUST for Germany, regardless of experience levels as long as you are willing to put in the effort you will thrive.

My volunteer work at Krischa's house was incredible! I had the opportunity to see beautiful places (beaches, countryside and cities), spend time with friendly international Workawayers, and interact with the lovely Bonnie (pony), the wonderful Fenno dog, and the independent Max cat! I also had the opportunity to cook Brazilian feijoada, vegetable soup, pumpkin soup, and bake an apple cake. Krischa, you are a genuine and friendly person with a beautiful smile! Thank you for all the moments, photos, music, and films! I wish you an excellent end of the year! All the best to you!

Man, his wife Jannah, and his business partner Zie, offered us a great immersive experience in their world. We spent some time at their nice exotic cafe/restaurant, but most of our time on the hillside at the cashew farm, where we would work on many projects around the property (building, maintenance, woodworking, sowing, planting...). Man, Jannah, and Zie spend a lot of time and energy trying to teach us things; from how to properly peel a starfruit to building strong foundations of a tree house, as well as living in the jungle, using new tools, discovering new plants.... Last but not least, each day we were provided with 3 restaurant-grade meals, snacks, tea and coffee. Many new fishes, herbs, roots, fruits and vegetables to try out there. We wish them all a great success for this unique project in Kedah.

I stayed a few days at Vittorios house and it was nice. The beach is very close, and Vittorio is a really kind host. Also it's nice to sleep long because before 11am everybody got time for themselves :)

If it's your first time doing a Workaway or are looking for an experience that immerses you into the day to day life of a local - the place is for you. From the first moment we arrived, we were welcomed with open arms and friendly faces. The team have been fantastic at providing a range of experiences for us to teach English: from language facilitation in the classroom to hosting speaking clubs at local venues. Many of the students are very shy, but with the high energy and great teachers working there, they will quickly warm to you. With this being our first Workaway, we are now hooked.

I had a Lovely experience at this place ! I have been working for the shop or at the restaurant, with a really nice team. the vibe is really great ! My private room was confortable and I could enjoy 3 meals per day. the restaurant is near Vagator beach and lots of different night clubs. place is perfect !

Wow wow wow!!! I feel so lucky and grateful to have spent unforgettable moments with halil and sam ❤️ Not only are they industrious, creative, kind and funny people..their home is also beautiful!! (And the pups are wonderful :) ) The focus while i was there was doing landscaping and some light gardening.. they were very gracious with hours and i never felt like i was over worked. Always checking in to make sure things were good. I felt like i was meeting old friends! I will so treasure the month spent there.. thank you so much for letting me be a part of your wonderful family!!!!

Gus had planned to be here for several weeks but had to return to the USA after only a week. While he was here he did some good work in the garden, hacking back overgrown shrubs. He is a fun young man and easy company.

Robert did some great work in the garden which due to our age and poor health had slipped back quite a bit! He got areas ready for planting and got the winter veg planted just in time for the rain to water it all in. He is a great conversationalist, kind and easy to have about the place.
