We spent a fantastic six months working both in the laundry and as part of the wedding service team. It was exactly the experience we were hoping for. The full-time seasonal work offered a great balance of varied tasks, with days that ranged from pleasantly easy to more challenging and fast-paced. This variety kept the job engaging and allowed us to learn a lot while contributing meaningfully to the team. The team was welcoming, and it was easy to fit in and get along. Within just a few days, we got the hang of the tasks and settled into the rhythm of the work. The communication was clear, support was always available when needed, and we felt trusted to carry out our responsibilities independently. Danae is a great leader, and communicating with her was always easy. We consistently felt comfortable approaching her, as she is open, supportive, and genuinely easy to talk to. She made sure everything at work was clear, well-organized, and running smoothly. It was inspiring to learn from her about business management and how to create positive change. Her approach taught us a lot and made our experience even more meaningful. Our accommodation was comfortable, and having access to the sauna and mountain bikes made the experience even more special, we were very grateful for those extra touches. The surrounding nature is absolutely stunning, and we enjoyed exploring it during our free time. Getting around was also easy, as we could borrow one of the work trucks for grocery runs, small trips, and other errands. This flexibility added a lot of convenience to our daily life and made the stay feel even more home-like. Overall, our six months were truly memorable, and we couldn’t have asked for a better experience. We learned a lot, enjoyed our work, and felt supported every step of the way. A big thank you to Danae and Bjorn for their guidance, trust, and kindness throughout our stay. We are genuinely grateful and highly recommend this Workaway to anyone looking for a meaningful and rewarding opportunity. We also hope to return in the future to work here again, if there is an opportunity.

We spent five days in November with Véronique. We really enjoyed those rewarding days. Thank you, Véronique ! She is very warm, enthusiastic and share her experience. We really enjoyed the meals we had together. She adapted the tasks to our skills and preferences. They were varied from sanding and painting to helping sort out a room and raking the path in the olive grove, as well as helping to find websites to sell the house. We started work at around 9 a.m., took 1-2 hours of lunch break around 1 and 2 p.m., and worked until 5 or 6 p.m. The property is quite isolated, so we didn't have the opportunity to visit the surrounding area. However, we were still able to admire the view by climbing a nearby hill. We highly recommend spending some time with Véronique !

We spent a week in November at Martijn and Karin's hostel. Although we didn't get to spend much time with them, we are grateful for their kindness and helpfulness. We could divide the 15 hours of work however we wanted, which gave us an extra day off. Our job was to weed the driveway. The company of Bamboo, their always-happy dog, and Mapache, their playful cat, made the work enjoyable :) Thanks to the nearby bus stop, which connects directly to Alora or El Chorro, we were able to visit the surrounding area, including El Caminito del Rey, without a car. We stayed in a four-bed room at the hostel, which we shared with other guests. We enjoyed meeting other travellers, which led to some wonderful encounters. We highly recommend Martijn and Karin's hostel !

it was our first experience with workaway we could definitely recommend going there. Very beautiful place and very nice people, the kids are great, everything went great!

We gotta say, Anna is the real deal! She's got a heart of gold, always willing to lend a hand, and she's super attentive to everyone's needs. We mean, she's like a ray of sunshine in a busy, cold day! Whether it's helping with a task, offering words of encouragement, or just being there to listen, she's got it covered. Her caring nature is totally infectious, and we loved her from the very beginning !! Anna is an amazing workawayer! Her positive energy and warm smile make everything easier. She's very responsible and clearly takes her work very seriously. If you're thinking of hosting her, don't hesitate, she's an excellent choice! Thank you, thank you, thank you to have been our helper for a little while!

Emily was a great volunteer. She was a cheerful and funny person, always smiling and ready to either work or chat; depending on what was needed at the time. She stayed calm and collected no matter how chaotic things got. This showed impressive resilience. She worked with dedication and understood what was required. She was thoughtful and lovely with the dogs. Having already volunteered at another shelter through Workaway, she brought valuable experience and insights which offered useful comparisons and advice. Emily worked very well as part of the volunteering team. She was a lot of fun and loved the dogs. Other volunteers loved to spend time with her.

Rita is amazing person: funny, creative, self sufficient and motivated. She is skilled and experienced in DIY projects, painting, Sawing, repairing, gardening. She is empathetic yet funny person who likes to socialize and do it with easy no matter age, language, cultural or any differences. She showed genuine interest to learn some Croatian language and understand the local culture. She is also fluent in Spanish and Russian. I would love that she comes again, maybe with her children and grandchildren as a friend. Thank you! You are inspiration!

What a pleasure ! Miguel stayed with us for 10 days, and he arrived during a very special situation : my little Bonny Pony had to go to hospital, and the doctor had to take out one of her eyes. I also became sick about that situation, and Miguel took care of me. He fixed nice soups, cleaned up the house and did the other work with a worky from Korea. He worked in the garden, saved the wood for the winter, prepared delicious dinners and cakes and was always ready for a good communication ore card games. We had a fantastic time, with lots of laughs and funny situations, he gets along very easy with everybody, and our animals love him. I wish all the best for him and hope, we will meet again ! Here will always be a place for him :) Thank so much, lovely Severino Miguel.... !!!!

our stay with roser was amazing! the work was relaxing and grounding in nature, and we had genuinely lovely, meaningful conversations with her. it was clear right away that she’s someone who cares deeply and communicates with a lot of openness. the fresh fruits and veggies from her land were incredible, and her baby is such a joy to be around. we felt comfortable the entire time and really appreciated how naturally everything flowed. thank you for welcoming us <3

Tobias is such a positive person, always in good mode, optimistic and ready to help. We are very gratefull for his stay in our animal shetler and for all work that he did for us. Dogs loves him as well. We highly recommend him.

Despite Carlotta being only 18 years old, she showed remarkable maturity and commitment choosing to volunteer for 3 weeks. She was a reliable and dedicated person who genuinely cared about the work and Monica herself. She was always the first to offer help and she had the ability to anticipate Monica's needs and support her proactively. Monica really liked her and held a high opinion of her. Carlotta was deeply knowledgeable about everything happening at the shelter which made her an essential presence. As a volunteer, she was kind, caring and easy going always creating a warm and cooperative atmosphere. Carlotta was a great volunteer. She learned fast and was kind with Monica and the dogs. She tried very hard to understand and talk with Monica who speaks only Romanian. She built up a good working relationship with Monica. Carlotta was able to quickly learn the rules, e.g. which dog bowl goes where and which dog needs what. She was an absolute asset to the volunteers during October providing ongoing knowledge to new volunteers.

I stayed with Esther and her family for two weeks over the summer and had an unforgettable experience. From the very beginning, I received an incredibly warm welcome. My main tasks included teaching English to Vega, a kind, bright, and curious girl, playing with her both outside and in the pool, and occasionally helping with simple household chores like cooking or laundry. The family’s vacation home is just a three-minute walk from the beach, and I had my own room as well as access to the kitchen, gym, and good internet. All family members are amazing cooks who value healthy, fresh meals. I had the chance to try delicious local Valencian cuisine and even learned a few new recipes along the way. Despite the language barrier, Esther was always patient, supportive, and great at explaining everything clearly. I wholeheartedly recommend this family for a summer stay.

This was Luna's first experience as a Workaway volunteer. She proved to be a great volunteer and worked very well as part of the volunteer team. Her thoughtfulness and kindness often came across. She worked with dedication and understanding what needed to be done and did so efficiently. She was a very pleasant and quieter volunteer; always being discrete. Additionally, she was lovely with the dogs too. She communicated very well with the volunteer coordinator. She is passionate about helping stray dogs and has some previous experience of this.

Hi everyone! We're a couple that only stayed with them one week but enjoyed so much our time there. It's perfect if you are looking for a quiet and very beautiful place where everything is already well established, with their awesome self made wooden house, and a very complete garden, that only needs maintenance and keep growing. Thanks to them we are huge fans now of Syntropic agriculture. The place is surrounded by mountains but you can also go to the beach and more crowded places in a 30 minutes drive. We loved their company, our talks, their music (amazing!) and their food.

Hosting Rosie was a genuine delight, she requested a one week stay and we had three marvelous weeks of thoughtful conversations, imaging and creating art around the property, transforming the kitchen into a haute cuisine environment, and discovering how life can be lived by simply sharing who we are, what we dream, where we have been, whom we have met, what we will create next, and what we hope for ourselves and for our loved ones. Thank you Rosie for your visit and for the many memories you created during your stay.

Luna estuvo conmigo 2 semanas y su ayuda fue maravillosa. Es proactiva. Feliz y entiende bien lo que se debe hacer para trabajar en proyecto de hostales. Su personalidad es divina y te hace sentir muy feliz de tenerla contigo. Siempre la recomendaré y ahora ya no como voluntaria ahora como amiga. I have spent 3 weeks on Emines farm. Food was amazing, work was fair, i enjoyed conversations with Emine and other volunteers. Some days were easy, some days were hard (thats a farm life baby)! On your days off you have many beautiful places to Visit, area around is amazing. Thanks for having me Emine.

Paola was an amazing host she was very kind to me and the dogs were so fun. She was working 12 hours a day and still made time to have dinner and spend a little time with me before bedtime. She is a wonderful cook and made me polenta it was so delicious! I would highly recommend her as a host.
