ACTUALLY, WE HAVE THESE FREE PLACES:
-1st April until 22nd April 2025 (1 place)
-8th December 2025 until 4th January 2026 (1 place)
Please note: We can only accept female Workawayers or pairs, as they have to share the appartment!
We are a happy family with three boys (born in 2011, 2013 and 2015) and we live in a beautiful individual house in Switzerland. Our village is very well located to explore Switzerland/Europe. From here, you reach Zürich, Basel and Berne in 1 hour, Geneva in 2 hours, Paris in 3.5 hours, Milan in 4.5 hours, the French and German boarder in only 1 hour by train. The train station is a 20 minutes walk from our house.
For our guests, we offer an appartment with kitchen and bathroom. We have Netflix and WiFi. We normally have two guests, so you would share the appartment with that other female workawayer. You can live and eat for free. We eat together as a family. Our boys are at school every morning and 3-4 afternoons per week. They are very used to visitors as we already had more than 200 guests. Our kids speak German, French and English fluently. I speak German, French, English and Italian.
You should love animals, because we have one dog (a Golden Retriever) and 2 cats. It is very important for us that you love dogs. You should be non-smoker! It is important for us that you are on time.
We stopped having Workawayers all year round, because our boys are older now. They prefer spending their time with their friends. These days, we invite Workawayers for a housesitting job. Normally, they arrive one or two weeks before we leave, so that I can show them everything and we can spend time together. When we are away, two Workawayers stay in our house and take care of our pets, walk the dog twice a day, feed the 2 cats and the dog, do some housecleaning and work in the garden. They also have to work at weekends during this time. As they are 2 workawayers, they can split the work. This means, that every second day is free. The free time can also be splitted differently between the two Workawayers. When you are in charge of the house and pets, you can not leave the house for more than 3 hours, because our dog is used to have someone around and cannot stay in the house for a whole day. So the two Workawayers cannot travel together, when we are on holidays.
We are looking for someone who would like to explore Switzerland/Europe, who loves kids and animals and who is interested in spending time with us, sharing culture and language. We would like our boys to improve/train their French and/or English, so we are looking for guests with high spoken level in English or French.
We can give you references from guests, who have already been here. We had guests from: Australia, USA, Canada, England, Ireland, Italy, Spain, Belgium, France, Croatia, Czech Republic, Luxembourg, Denmark, Poland,... Some of them came back for 2-3 times.
We really love doing this, because we find friends all over the world. They become members of our family...

You could improve your German, French or English with us. You would learn about Swiss life, Swiss culture and you can taste typical Swiss food and other international food. I often speak with our guests in the afternoon, we sit in the chair and chat together. In summer, we have a swimming pool. Often, I go for walks with our guests.

In the morning, you walk the dog for 1-2 hours, do some house cleaning (vacuum cleaning, cleaning kitchen, bathroom, children's room). Sometimes you help with the garden.
You would set the table before eating and help to clean up after. My husband is a very good cook, he always cooks a big dinner with different plates. If there isn't enough, you would have to cook some pasta or other easy dishes like you want...
I am a primary school teacher and I teach every day.

Acomodação
For our guests, we offer an own appartment with kitchen and bathroom, which is located in our beautiful individual house. We have a big garden and behind the house, there is a forest and a mountain. From our house, you have a wonderful view of the Alps (if it is sunny, hehehe). There are three beds and a piano in the appartment. You can live and eat for free also at weekends, but we eat together as a family. Please note that it is not possible to eat late (after family meals), as in the evening the boys go to bed quite early.

Our village is very well located to explore Switzerland/Europe.
