As a recent arrival to the UK from Zimbabwe, I couldn’t have asked for a better family or a better experience to welcome me, teach me, and prepare me for life here. The accommodation was incredible, the work was genuinely rewarding, the family were wonderfully supportive, and the farm itself is breathtaking. My days were spent feeding horses, cutting trees, fixing fences, and driving the Gator around with the family dogs in tow. In my downtime, I explored the area on a bicycle they kindly lent me. I have especially fond memories of chasing wayward sheep with Nick and reinforcing the fences to prevent further escapes, as well as long, satisfying days using the chainsaw to tidy up the plantation. Highly recommended — I’m very grateful for my time here.

Questa esperienza mi ha salvato dal caos dell'india, è un luogo tranquillo ed io l'ho usato per staccare dai clacson, inquinamento, immondizia. Qui è tutto perfetto, fra tranquillità ed una routine lavorativa di 3 ore la mattina e 2 il pomeriggio rende anche le giornate con lavori più impegnativi molto facili da affrontare. Anche per quanto riguarda il cibo è molto buono riso, chapati, verdure, tea...preparano il tea migliore che abbia mai assaggiato. In breve la consiglierei a chiunque come esperienza

This one of the best workaway by far bungalow I ever stayed at with a soft comfortable sleeping mattress,well equipped small kitchen, large fridge and washing machine.Very quiet place and calm morning beautiful sunrise.I got to pick up some olives in one of the best place in Izmir Camlik.I got a chance to visit one of such a nice location called Kusadasi during my off days at work,where I can see many great restaurants,shopping centers, ferries,boats and have such a great beach stunning views.They also did some delicious grilled chicken barbecue quite sometimes,we're having a great lunch together with other volunteers.They're very welcoming and responsible.I highly recommend this wonderful olive garden 🫒.I've wished that I could stayed longer enough.⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ It's such a nice enjoyable moment to work on this garden.However I have to extend my stay here for one more week it felt like I'm having more fun.I wish all the olive trees 🌴 keeps growing and growing more.He's father has an excellent motorcycle driving skills.

Thanks Fleur, Peter, Nia, Neven, Milo and Frida for a really special and amazing time at your place! We spent 10 days at Peter and Fleurs beautiful land on Vis. The place they have built up from nothing is incredible. Even from the campervan we could see the ocean, it was a great way to start each day. We learned a lot about sustainable living and general to see how we are surrounded by natural resources. Fleur learned us how to use the plants that surrounds you and make it in to nice cosmetic. We shared very special moments with each of you from good talks, playing chess, baking a cake, go on adventures with the kids in the area and going to the beach fór a swim and fishing. I spent a month volunteering here and it was a great experience. Peter is professional and accommodating —he takes the time to understand each volunteer’s strengths and goals, and works with you to create a role and schedule that fits. I stayed at the school for the first week and then at the Kampot office, both of which were welcoming and lively, with a mix of international volunteers and incredibly kind staff who make it easy to settle in. I worked as a designer for the NGO and also helped schedule the content calendar for their social media channels. The team is made up of people who deeply believe in their mission, have dedicated their lives to it, and are making a real impact on Cambodian youth. I’m grateful to have had the opportunity to contribute in any small way. Highly recommend.

We spent two weeks at the camp and shared in the seasonal daily life of Haliunaa and her three wonderful children. Welcoming travelers, serving meals, and since it was the end of the season, we even learned to set up gers (traditional Mongolian walking sticks). Haliunaa shared Mongolian culture with us; we went horseback riding, and she introduced us to traditional dishes (she's a fantastic cook). The children were also adorable. Flo and Lise are genuinely lovely people — kind, easy-going, and a real pleasure to have around. It was wonderful to welcome them to Buthier and share quiet, warm moments together. We truly hope our paths cross again soon, maybe even by visiting them in the house they’re dreaming of buying somewhere in the Alps. They are respectful, positive, and great company, and we sincerely wish them all the best with the plans they’re building for their future. We warmly recommend them to anyone who would enjoy meeting authentic and thoughtful people.

Solène was a great help for us and came to us with very short notice so we are very grateful for her invaluable help taking care of the house and animals while we were away. She was very adaptable to changing conditions during her stay which helped us out a great deal. She also got along really well with our youngest daughter and is someone we would be happy to have back anytime. She was only here for a week but go along very well with all the family and we all missed her when she left. We would be very happy to recommend her to any future host as a reliable, friendly and adaptable workawayer.

Karin is lovely, kindhearted woman. She fitted into our family so easily and quickly. She was really proactive and used her initiative around the house, you didn't need to ask and there she was helping out. She was excited to get into work and enjoyed sharing her gardening skills with us. Loved to chat and learn about our ways. Her English is very good and we spoke with ease with her. We'd have her back anytime and are sad to see her go.

We have greatly enjoyed hosting Marcas here in Balkhash. He was one of the few who came for longer than 2 or 3 weeks, so he had a chance to spend more time with us, the students, and the staff. Students had a lot of fun interacting with Marcas and practicing their English skills with him both during regular lessons as well as speaking clubs. It really helped that Marcas had previous experience teaching. He was able to take over teaching the group of adults at the intermediate level. Personally, I think it's the most interesting thing to do as an overseas volunteer because you get to know a lot more about the new country through interacting with them. Marcas was really integrated into our day-to-day lives, was easy to live with, and was very helpful. We greatly appreciate his help at the Center!

Connor and Georgina were a great couple to host. They fit right in with what we're doing. The kids had a lot of fun with them during the lessons. The adults enjoyed their presence even more, I believe! Georgina and Connor are very independent and were able to get around the town with ease. They were willing to help in any way we needed and were open to ideas. Yet another bright page in the lives of our Center's staff and students! I can wholeheartedly recommend them to any hosts who might be interested in hosting them in the future.

Morteza stayed with us for two weeks and he was the first workawayer from Iran that we had the pleasure of hosting. He let us taste wonderful Iranian dishes, played the guitar and became good friends with the two other workawayers from France and Belgium. He helped us with animal care, the olive harvest and to prepare the vegetable garden for spring. Some afternoons were spent climbing the nearby Santa Barbara end Roques de Benet summits in good weather. His English improved a lot while he was here.

Mein Aufenthalt bei Sandra war eine wundervolle Erfahrung. Sie ist eine sehr herzliche, offene und rücksichtvolle Hostin, die dafür sorgt, dass man sich vom ersten Moment an willkommen fühlt. Die Kommunikation war immer klar und entspannt, und die Aufgaben waren fair, gut erklärt und angenehm zu erledigen. Neben der Arbeit wurde ich auch sehr in das Familienleben eingebaut und durft Ausflüge mitmachen und auch selber etwas die Umgebung erkunden. :) Ich habe mich während meines gesamten Aufenthalts sehr wohl gefühlt und hatte die Möglichkeit, viel Neues zu lernen und mich einzubringen. Ich kann Sandra als Hostin absolut empfehlen und würde jederzeit wiederkommen. Vielen lieben Dank für die schöne Zeit!

Maguy, my first Workaway host ever, lives in beautiful surroundings in the village Pian della Pieve in the regional park of Monte Subasio. Maguy is a very generous host and a good cook. We worked together in the garden and in and around the house. The chilly october mornings were used for in house work and the warm hours outside för weeding, harvesting or enjoying the blue grapes or the Juju-berries in the shadow. Maguy´s deep interest in art and her knowledge of the sacred history of Assisi, Saint Francis and the medievel artists who decorated the beautiful cathedrals of Italy she generously shared - with respect for me not beeing a practising christian. I only stayed one week but Maguy´s personality, communications skills and interest in charing cultures made my week in the green hills of Umbria to a wonderful experience.

It was so great to have Antoine and Penelope. They are such good company and I loved cooking and sharing a meal with them. The biggest surprise was Antoine putting an inflatable spa together which had been sitting in a box for 4 years! He was a machine weeding and clearing my garden too. I left them in my house for the weekend and was welcomed back with pizza. Grazie tanto! Enjoy your new adventures whatever they may be!

I had an amazing time staying with Nozomi and her family! The work was not too hard at all, and in my time off they shared many amazing experiences with me, making me feel like part of the family every day. They were very flexible, allowing me to choose my days off and I truly enjoyed every moment with them.

I have had the most wonderful two weeks living at Yvonna’s beautiful home, surrounded by her lovely dogs, donkeys, goats, geese, chickens, and the charming peacock. Yvonna cares for animals and the environment with such genuine love. She does everything she can to create a comfortable and safe home for the animals in her care. And it’s not only the ones who live with her—she also looks after the wild animals and little creatures around the property. She is also a very creative person, always finding thoughtful and imaginative ways to improve the lives of the animals and the land around her. The world truly needs more people like her, people who devote their lives to protecting our planet and making it a better place for all living beings. She was incredibly kind to me as well—showing me all the interesting places nearby, being flexible, and supporting me even when I wasn’t at my full capacity due to medical complications. I felt deeply cared for. I absolutely fell in love with all her animals, especially the dogs and sweet Milu the cat, who slept with me every night. Tears came to my eyes when I realized I had to leave the dogs—they touched my heart so deeply. My time there was unforgettable, and I’m so grateful for the warmth, kindness, and love I experienced.

My first Workaway experience couldn’t have been better. From the very first moment, being welcomed by Lisa and the dogs completely melted my heart. Lisa is such an open-minded, loving, and dedicated person who works incredibly hard to give the dogs a better life and true happiness. I stayed 11 days in Okt there. I fell in love with all the dogs and their unique personalities. I learned so much during my stay, from understanding their behavior to giving them massages—something I hope will continue to benefit them. Lisa and her partner were exceptionally kind and made me feel at home right away. Their generosity and the impact of their work are truly inspiring. I am deeply grateful for my time there, and I’m already looking forward to returning soon.

Makoto’s guesthouse was a wonderful experience. I met so many lovely people and enjoyed the work tasks and hours. Makoto was an awesome host, easy to get along with and communicate. I will no doubt visit there again as a traveller the next time I pass through Tokyo. Thank you Makoto for providing such a thrilling experience as a part of my Japan journey. Maya and Charlotte stayed for multiple times with us. And it was unforgettable time we all spent together. Both are super duper nice, good hearted, kind and intelligent girls. Always ready to help and helped alot at home. We got a chance to eat delicious Apple cake made by them. We spent good quality time with them and knew each other well and also played many games with them and became a part of our family. We hope you will enjoy your rest of travel and we will cross our paths again in future and we hope you meet good people in your way. Our best wishes are with you always.
