We really enjoyed hosting Ludovica in Vancouver with us. She was really fun, had a wonderful positive energy and was so open minded and keen to discover new things and new places. She bonded very quickly with our dog Disco, who slept downstairs with her when we were away. Nothing was a problem for Ludovica and she took everything in her stride. Without a doubt, she was a fabulous cook and served up the most delicious Italian food. I am not sure we can recreate her signature Lasagne, but she shared her recipe so we will give it a go! We really appreciated her joyous attitude and sense of humour and will miss her.

Jennifer was the perfect helper for me. I wanted to kidnap her and keep her here permanently! She already works with horses in America but was very keen to learn more and get lots of hands-on experience with grooming, picking out feet etc. My horses were going through a grumpy patch with grooming, probably because they were losing summer coats and feeling itchy, but she coped admirably when they were moody and was not at all intimidated. We had some ridiculously busy days while she was here and she was happy to work as long and hard as necessary to get the job done. Apart from being industrious, she was totally competent at everything and I was able to leave all the horse care to her on the days, or just afternoons when I had other things to do. She helped with DIY jobs as well as horse care (she even fixed my mini chain saw when I was struggling) and was alway cheerful and great company whatever the weather. I even had to persuade her to take all her days off! She is in love with Ireland, so kept herself entertained with long walks in her spare time and she made life easy for me by cooking her own meals in the caravan when I was too stressed or busy. She is also a really caring person and I thoroughly enjoyed her company. I am looking forward to seeing her again next year. I can totally recommend her to other hosts, unless I manage to kidnap her first!

I stayed two month with this nice family and had such a great time. It was the best first Workaway experience I could imagine. The family is friendly and I felt very welcome during my stay in Bezzecca. The nature there is so incredibly beautiful with many places to visit. Federica and Alberto always gave the best tips for places to visit and would always give me a ride to Riva in the morning and back in the afternoon. The children are funny and I had a memorable time with them. Especially Adele and I always had such a great time together. I enjoyed the stay with you very much. Thank you! I hope we see each other again :)

Timothe is a very intelligent boy who immediately understands what he has to do and is very conscientiously involved in his work. It is a real pleasure to have him around and see the good work he does. I recommend him without reservation, and he can do many things with great humility!

Veronika is an absolute gem! We had her volunteering with us just over a month and feel SO grateful for everything that she took part of. All the tasks that she attended were done very well, she was amazing with the children, a good cook and has a great eye for cleaning tasks around the house. She is truly a beautiful person, who carries pure intentions with that sweet heart. Thank you Veronika for everything that you gave and shared with us here on these sacred lands. Another sister added to this family. Those who will receive Veronika will be lucky to have her. We miss you and look forward to your return one day! Many blessings 🌿💚

We joined Jean-Luc and his family for the olive harvest this year and had a great time in Montady. Jean-Luc is a very gentle and generous person, we had great conversations and cultural exchanges. It's a beautiful area - we went for hikes and one Sunday Jean-Luc took us to the market in Narbonne. We enjoyed the harvest a lot, some days we made the most of the weather and worked longer and got another day off in return. It was especially nice when his daughters and their friends joined for the very last days of the harvest and we got a lot work done altogether, enjoyed the food together and strolled afterwards through a pretty village known for it's poterie. The food we got was delicious - a big thank you again also to Olivia - lots of very good quiches, soup and gratins. With the other workaways, we would sometimes cook dinner together in our own appartements. We can really recommend this workaway to anyone who is interested in gardening olives and learning about French (culture).

I had a wonderful stay with Javier and his dog, Nana. I stayed in his apartment in a village near Valencia, as there wasn’t much work on the land during the winter. Javier is a kind, welcoming host with great energy, and I really appreciated his hospitality and trust. He was hosting another person at the same time, and it was a pleasure to meet her as well. We shared some very cozy evenings together, cooking dinner and having relaxed, meaningful conversations. Overall, my experience with Javier was positive and memorable. I’m grateful for the time I spent there and for the long-lasting memories I’ve taken with me. I would happily recommend staying with him!

Para nosotros la experiencia con Loic y Lisa fue hermosa, ellos en todo momento apoyaron las labores con los animales, con diferentes necesidades del establo, siempre con muy buena energía, proactivos en todo minuto, fue un tiempo junto a ellos que aportó a nuestra vida y corazón, gracias! y pueden venir cuando quieran tienen su espacio aquí! What an incredible place! This was our very first Workaway experience as a family — and honestly, what an unforgettable start! From the moment we stepped out of our camper and shook hands for the very first time, we all said nearly the same thing at once: it felt as if we had known each other for years. That sense of warmth and familiarity set the tone for our entire stay. We were given the freedom to explore, to just be ourselves, and to enjoy being together. The surroundings are absolutely wonderful, and our two dogs had the time of their lives on the daily walks through the forest. Leaving was bittersweet — sad because we didn’t want the experience to end, but comforting because we now know we’ve found a second home.

Je suis parti 3 semaines pour mon premier Workaway chez Martine et Jean-Paul et ça a été absolument génial ! Ce sont des gens extrêmement généreux et bienveillants, j'ai vraiment adoré passer des moments avec eux. Ils m'ont renseigné beaucoup de choses à faire durant mes jours de congé et chaque activité recommandée était super chouette. De plus la charge de travail n'était pas énorme et il y avait beaucoup de pauses tout au long de la journée, vraiment parfait pour une première expérience Workaway ! Encore merci à eux pour ce séjour inoubliable !

I stayed with Francesca for two weeks and felt at home from start to finish! Francesca is a warm-hearted, caring person who did her best to make me feel comfortable as a Workawayer. As her days were usually quite busy, I helped with whatever was needed, which mainly involved helping with the housework and cooking in the morning. In the evenings, we usually spent time teaching/learning Spanish. I often had time during the day to explore the amazing city of Rimini and its beaches, as well as taking longer trips to the surrounding area (Ravenna, San Marino, etc.). Francesca was great at introducing me to her family and friends, and she took me out for walks, for coffee in a local pasticceria, and even to the cinema. Her cute cat Tellulah was an added bonus:) I left Rimini with a backpack full of good memories and experiences. Grazie mille!

Para nosotros vivir estos días con Francois fue hermoso, nos ayudó siempre con alegría y compromiso, fue una gran experiencia, un ser humano luminoso que llegará fácilmente donde se proponga. Buen viaje hermoso!! Tienes casa aca en Chile.

Our time with Rita was fantastic. She is a wealth of knowledge in life and in the garden. We spent the first part of the day in her gardens, helping clean, organize, weed, etc. It was a beautiful, serene space. Rita was adaptive with time. We asked to make some adjustments to our schedule and she did as well. Everything was seemless and easy. Her cooking was fantastic and more than abundant. Conversation and coffee were always available. We highly recommend Rita's place. Keep in mind that You will be at a higher altitude and the walk to the gardens in the morning may be challenging.

Marama is a very enthusiastic and eager woman. She picks things up quickly and quickly grasps the daily tasks. She performed excellently. Outside of work, she enjoys exploring and doing things. We hope you'll come back again.

Thank you for this experience, I was able to do manual tasks that I like, for example painting, woodwork or general repairs. I had my own apartment and Mit with Kata were friendly and never left me hungry. Both Kata and Mit are great cooks. If you like peace and beautiful and quiet mountain view right from the window, this is the place. In addition, Mit arranged a padel game with a local guy for me. Talking about Samson, their little boy, I want to say that he is cute and we had a great childish-like connection. Maybe one day I will pass by again :) One never knows where the roads will lead

We spent three wonderful days with Lane and Ulrik. She is sweet, attentive, curious, and very helpful. He is calm, thoughtful, and fun. Our time together was characterized by naturalness and harmony. It's not often that you can communicate in a foreign language in such a profound and friendly way. And the proof was that we couldn't wait to see them again when they returned from their tour of Italy. We wish they could have stayed longer. We feel like we've truly created a new and wonderful friendship.

Harry is a joy to be around! It will be hard to find a volunteer that brings as much to offer to the Hacienda. He is very likeable and will say the funniest things while he may not be intending to be funny and will also make you feel like the most interesting person in the world. We really enjoyed his stay and I think all of the staff here at the Hacienda will greatly miss him (especially the young ladies that fell in love with him). While here, Harry helped with some painting and some maintenance work. We were able to get some projects out of the way which was a huge help. I hope that he will come visit us again and that I can someday visit him in Australia. Thanks for your visit Harry!
