We had a wonderful time staying in the beautiful mountains. We got to spend a few days with Tin, being regaled by his stories, working alongside him in the garden and having some great laughs. We were grateful to share some permacultural knowledge with Tin, particularly in relation to the local environment. For most of the two weeks it was just us, caring for the chickens, Keira the cat, Sam the turtle and taking long walks with Jaro the dog. It felt great to get stuck into the garden, cleaning and tidying up both inside and outside the house. The mountains are so serene and it was such a wonderful respite from our life on the road. It's evident that there's been a lot of love woven into that place from so many different hearts and hands. Tin obviously brings out the best in people. We're sure we'll see him again one day, one way or another!

We spent just under a week at Anja and Alberto’s home, and it was truly a very special time for us. We loved walking their beautiful dog Pippo, who has stolen our hearts, and we also enjoyed working in their lovely garden and helping to clean the porch. Thank you, Anja, for being such a radiant person. Your kindness and enthusiasm for life are truly contagious. We had so many wonderful conversations, shared delicious dinners, and even spent some creative time making monotypes together. We also had the pleasure of spending a little time with Alberto, who is such a fun, energetic person with a real passion for classic Italian movies hahaha Thanks a million for everything! We miss you!

Once upon a time, there was a small, gray-haired boy named MAX! He was born in the body of a beautiful puppy with the mission of enlightening humans along the way! He traversed deserts, braved storms, crossed the mighty currents of deep rivers, and climbed steep mountains! Yet, with immense bravery, he survived the wickedness of men! All actions with great nobility, strength, and determination! His gaze was luminous and exuded serenity! Oh, he had a unique way of walking: his hind legs kind of floated from side to side in a cadence reminiscent of the beating of an angel's wings! Why not a Seraph?! In a certain distant kingdom in the lands of Ireland, Max fought against hostile savages who were mistreating the Canis lupus familiaris clan. For weeks, alone, he survived the terrifying forces of Evil. It seemed like the end of that valiant warrior. However, fate provided an epic twist. Thus, from the limits of the known world, by enchantment, an Amazon warrior named Valerie emerged: energetic, strong, and fearless! She fought alongside Max, and together, they defeated barbarism. Thus, after being named Prince of Ballyglunin, Max went to live in an enchanted castle with Princesses Missey, Princess Phoebe, the warrior Valerie, and Prince Daniel! Together, they formed a happy family based on harmony, peace, and unconditional love! One day, Mr. Time knocked on the castle door and whisked Max away to the land of memories that are never erased! However, the legacy of that noble warrior lives on in the hearts of all who had the honor of knowing and loving him! xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx Here, I thank the family for the opportunity to live with, walk with, feed, hug, and, often in the mornings, provide a medicine tablet with ham for the adorable Max boy for 10 weeks. You all made a huge difference in his life and gave him the best he deserved! Gratitude!

George and Avery are a lovely couple brimming with youthful talent. They are highly independent and inquisitive. I was often away from home during their stay . but they found ways to contribute on their own, proposing and updating designs and documentation for this project. George created a rendering of my porch's finished look, took photos at a nearby factory with his camera, and even helped neighbors. Avery participated in a Hagi-yaki workshop and enjoyed experiencing the local community. Their stay helped clarify the essential aspects of my project. Thank you!

Andy's stay was an incredibly exciting time. We fixed the roof together, demolished an old house to salvage materials, and shared so many adventures. He's bursting with energy and tackles carpentry work at an amazing pace. I hope we can one day realize our dream of creating that Japanese garden we envisioned together. Thank you!

ash and Rory are amazing human beings and they created a land that is beyond magical. Since I arrived I felt like I was in a deep cleansing process, with intense dreams and revelations. This is a powerful place for rebirth, with wonderful Nature and a stunning tiver. The sky at night is filled with the beauty of the stars 🙂 There was a balance between sharing time with the people that were around and spending time on my own. I felt like I was with family and that I was free to be myself and share ideas about the world. I was able to participate in some of the activities during the retreats and there was also a free yoga class one day per week that volunteers could join. Sometimes we were able to use the sauna and the hot tuve, which was ao relaxing! I was blessed to have found you and get to spend this time with you, you inspired me a lot and I came out with a full heart! Grateful for every moment, I wish you all the best and I hope to see you further in the future 🤍🙏

It has been a real pleasure to host Valentina for 2 weeks in September 2025. She is a reliable, respectful, proactive young lady and we were really satisfied with her interaction with the kids and the help we received in the house. We especially appreciated that she was able to organize the free time during her stay and that she proved to be always useful when home with us. We hope she had a nice time with us and we wish she can come back to discover Sicily even better than she did.

Had a lovely two weeks in Martvili with the Gang. Met many new and interesting people (both guests and volunteers) and worked on interesting projects. The hours are good and there is plenty to do and see in the area on your off days. The cooking team made amazing food everyday and dinner was never the same. The dorm was cozy, spacious and clean. Great place, would deffinately recommend it.

Having Marianna as a guest was a wonderful memory. It was the hot summer season, but helped with weeding and cleaning. also cooked Polish dishes for us, got along well with other guests, and was very friendly. Going together to Japanese festivals and hot springs was a truly wonderful memory.

Cara Laura! We just wanted to say a heartfelt thank you for everything you brought to your time here. Your initiative, reliability, and the way you took on every task — whether it was helping with the animals, going on walks, or simply stepping in wherever needed — really stood out. And let’s not forget the great chats and laughs — your company brought such a good energy, and honestly, the whole place felt brighter and lighter with you in it, even on rainy days. You tackled everything with a heart and a smile, and we noticed — every bit of it. Thanks for bringing such good vibes and taking on whatever came your way with such care. Thanks for giving us the chance to be your first workaway-experience and we’re excited for whatever comes next for you. My experience in Pacho was amazing! Amalia is such a great and loving host. She treats you like your mother and from the first moment you will feel at home. Her food is delicious and you have your private room and a guest bathroom just for you. Her family which are also her neighbours are so welcoming and they pampered me. Since they have a restaurant nearby I went there several times and they thought me how to make the best empanadas of colombia! The school and all the kids are so cute! I was almost crying when I needed to say goodbye to them. It's a rural school from a neighbourhood nearby and there are 8 kids from the ages of 5 to 11 years. They are very motivated to learn english and in the breaks or after the class we played in the playground or on the soccer field. Pacho is very calm and safe so you can walk around at any time without beeing worried. I hiked a lot in the region and did a bike tour with Amalias neighbour. The nature is amazing and the views are lovely. It's easy to reach the city since there is a taxi service from the Portal Norte in Bogotá which brings you directly to the city and costs more or less the same like taking the bus. I highly recommend this volunteering position. It was one of the best experiences in my 6 months of travelling and there is really nothing I can complain about!!!

Our family had such a great time with Florian, Marie and their family on their peaceful patch of earth in Portugal. Florian is so generous with his knowledge, insights and time. It was so nice to exchange stories and theories with Florian and Marie about home, travelling, growing things and life in general! Our kids all had a wonderful time playing together, for hours and hours on end.. Our daughters were rapt to meet other kids with such a big appetite for active, outdoor fun. Florian had thoughtfully told us about a Medieval Festival taking place nearby, so we met them and some of their friends there before joining them at the farm. During the week we learnt how to milk goats, and helped out with moving the goats, some clearing, looking after the chickens, and with some firewood and fencing. Florian is wonderful to work with, giving clear instructions, interesting explanations and knowledge around what we're doing, and was always very gracious. We enjoyed all the conversations, the games of Werewolf and our shared meals. This time in Portugal will always be one of our cherished memories, and we really hope that we will have the pleasure of hosting one or all of this beautiful family back in New Zealand one day!

Stephane est resté à peu près 3 semaines avec nous et s'est de suis bien intégré à la famille! Il a su aider les enfants avec leur cours de français, aider Raoul aux multiples tâches (toutes variées et parfois en passant de la scie aux fourneaux!) Une très belle expérience pour nous tous! Nous recommandons Stephane sans hésitation!

I had an amazing time with Pernille, Sven, Isa and Alex. They are a lovely family who made me feel very welcomed in my first workaway experience! They are a busy family but they will always make the effort to chat over meals and bring you along to activities where it's possible. I did yoga, played padel tennis and basketball. The home is beautiful and spacious, and located a short bike ride from town and a beach. The chores were not difficult and Pernille was great at communicating expectations and clarifying anything that I was unsure of. They are a busy family during the week, so if you need to be around people all the time this is something to keep in mind. However, if you have been travelling and would like to slow down and have some alone time you will get the opportunity for this, which I appreciated. I highly recommend this workaway to anyone, especially first time workawayers. Thank you so much for having me 🩷

Giovanni and Tayo were such a beautiful couple that helped move through a lot of things. The are both hard workers and great at DIY and what they don't know they are keen to learn and crack on with independently and with care. Giovanni was really calm and showed alot of care and flexibility. Tayo felt so much older than she is and had so much wisdom and knowledge- Both worked well as a team and got alot done in a short space of time. Both kept theirselfs fit with running and exercise and this was good to witness and not long after helped me get back into running- thanks guys. Food was great also with a variety of dishes made. Great team to have on board for any project . Hope your both well :) xx

Grant a été ma toute première expérience sur Workaway et honnêtement, je n’aurais pas pu espérer mieux ! L’accueil a été chaleureux, Grant est attentif et très reconnaissant de l’aide qu’on lui apporte. Même avec la barrière de la langue, la communication était fluide et nous avons eu de très beaux échanges. Je recommande vivement d’essayer le cours de self-défense dont il est le professeur : c’était une super expérience ! Grant est une personne formidable, je le recommande à 100 %

Clarisse is just an angel! She took every job with a good attitude and a smile. We got to do quite a few of outdoor tasks together, which were always followed with a nice chat and lots of laughs. She was very helpful with everyday household tasks as well and had a great relationship with out cats too. While writing this review, I realised that we didn't end up making poutine, which means.. we hope to meet you again someday (and enjoy some poutine together)!

Stefano and his farm/garden was my first Workaway volunteering experience. I stayed with him for two weeks. There were four of us: me, Stefano, his friend Juan, and another volunteer from the US. I think we made a really good team. At Stefano’s, work is from Monday to Saturday. Every morning at 9 a.m. we discussed the tasks for the day, and we usually worked until around 2 p.m. Sunday was the day off. The location is amazing for all kinds of hikes in the area. Stefano has a large garden full of vegetables and fruit, as well as chickens, dogs, and cats. The work was very diverse: in the garden, with wood, with vegetables, and so on. Stefano is truly an amazing cook. I had a small, cozy private room on the ground floor. I had a really great time there and learned a lot. Sometimes communication was a bit of a challenge, but also because my English is not so strong. I definitely recommend staying with Stefano if you are looking for peace, conversations, and the chance to learn something new. I would just like to add that my personal comfort was affected by the fact that the level of cleanliness in the house was a bit lower than my standards. So, thank you very, very much for everything we experienced together, and I wish you many happy volunteers and wonderful moments. Ciao!

oh thanks so much axel and moss for your flexibility, fun and hard work. we were so grateful for you both coming to stay and be part of. The work you did from carrying a massive table to mosaics in the rain will always be remembered as part of what created the project and space- I'm truly grateful . Moss is a fantastic artist on many levels and can apply her creativity to so so much. We both started a mosaic project- which takes so long- however with Moss's help it got started and its looking great. Moss is caring and hard working and has many talents to bring to a project - thanks moss- keep singing and being creative- x Axel was amazing with my daughter- really helping her through a tough time and giving her space to be- really appreciated that axel and so did she- i think you might have a gift working with youth . Axel also really helped in many DIY areas and if he did not know he learnt really quickly and was great at learning on the job. Thanks axel and both were great at adapting to change ( last min) and being with the dogs which adored them . Wishing you both a fantastic journey in life- go well guys xx
