  It is a project for people who want to spend their holidays away from the big tourist centres.
  Our seminar and holiday centre is situated on the Cretan south coast in a quiet location directly by the sea.
  We offer seminar holidays on specific topics such as yoga, Qi Gong, self-awareness and meditation. We also offer a house programme with yoga, hiking and Greek culture and more.
  
  Only a five-minute walk away from the hotel, various beaches invite you to swim in the crystal-clear waters of the Libyan Sea. There are also two typical tavernas with adjoining beach bars.
  Approx. 2.5 km from our quiet bay is the lively holiday resort of Plakias with a variety of tavernas, small cafés, music bars and delightful shops.
  
  We are a German-Greek team, who with joy and dedication create a nice and familiar atmosphere for our guests. We place great emphasis on contact with Cretan culture, about which you will learn a lot during your stay.
  
  Das Zentrum Philoxenia ist ein Projekt für Menschen, die ihren Urlaub abseits der großen Tourismuszentren verbringen wollen .
  Unser Seminar- und Urlaubszentrum liegt an der kretischen Südküste in ruhiger Lage direkt am Meer.
  Bei uns finden Seminarurlaube zu bestimmten Themen wie z. B. Yoga, Qi Gong, Selbsterfahrung und Meditation statt. Außerdem bieten wir ein Hausprogramm mit u. a. Yoga, Wandern und griechischer Kultur an.
  
  Nur fünf Gehminuten vom Hotel entfernt laden unterschiedliche Strände zum Baden im kristallklaren Wasser des Libyschen Meeres ein. Dort befinden sich auch zwei landestypische Tavernen mit angeschlossenen Strandbars.
  Ca. 2,5 km von unserer ruhigen Bucht entfernt liegt der lebhafte Ferienort Plakias mit einer Vielzahl von Tavernen, kleinen Cafés, Musikbars und entzückenden Geschäften.
  
  Wir sind ein deutsch-griechisches Team, das mit Freude und Hingabe eine schöne und familiäre Atmosphäre für unsere Gäste schafft. Wir legen großen Wert auf den Kontakt mit der kretischen Kultur, über die Du während Deines Aufenthalts viel erfahren wirst.

  From the 2025 season we are looking for support for our open, friendly German-Greek team in office, service and purchasing in our seminar hotel away from mass tourism on the south coast of Crete ().
  We are looking for a person who enjoys working with people, has structure, clarity and flexibility.
  Working period: mid-April to early November, approx. 20-35 hours per week (negotiable)
  
  Ideally you should have the following competences and requirements:
  - Experience in the office: PC, correspondence, spreadsheets, preparatory bookkeeping, telephone calls, organisation
  - Willingness and pleasure to work in the second field of work, the service area, mainly in the afternoons.
  - Languages: German, English. Greek a big plus, but not a requirement
  
  - Friendly and skilful interaction with guests
  
  - Flexibility and commitment
  It is a salaried job with Greek social security - registration with the Greek authorities is required
  If you are a yoga teacher or would like to contribute something else to our house programme, we would also be delighted if you enjoy designing the programme with us once a week - e.g. dance, creativity, Qi Gong ...
  Simple accommodation on site is possible.
  We pay a local wage, but well above the Greek minimum wage.

  Ab der Saison 2025 suchen wir noch für unser offenes, nettes deutsch-griechisches Team Unterstützung in Büro, Service und Einkauf in unserem Seminarhotel abseits vom Massentourismus an der Südküste Kretas ().
  Wir wünschen uns eine Person mit Spaß am Umgang mit Menschen, Struktur, Klarheit und Flexibilität.
  Arbeitszeitraum: Mitte April bis Anfang November, ca. 20-35 Wochenstunden (verhandelbar)
  
  Idealerweise sollten folgende Kompetenzen und Voraussetzungen vorliegen:
  
  - Erfahrung im Büro: PC, Schriftverkehr, Tabellen, vorbereitende Buchhaltung, Telefonate, Organisation
  - Bereitschaft und Freude, auch im zweiten Arbeitsfeld, dem Servicebereich mitzuwirken, vorwiegend nachmittags.
  - Sprachen: deutsch, englisch. Griechisch ein großer Pluspunkt, aber keine Voraussetzung
  
  - freundlicher und geschickter Umgang mit Gästen
  
  - Flexibilität und Einsatzbereitschaft
  Es ist eine Arbeit in Anstellung mit griechischer Sozialversicherung – Anmeldung bei den griechischen Behörden ist erforderlich
  Wenn du YogalehrerIn bist oder etwas anderes in unser Hausprogramm einbringen möchtest, freuen wir uns auch, wenn du Spaß hast, einmal in der Woche das Programm mit uns zu gestalten – z. B. Tanz, Kreativität, Qi Gong …
  Einfache Unterbringung vor Ort ist möglich.
  Wir zahlen einen landesüblichen Lohn, jedoch deutlich über dem griechischen Mindestlohn.

  Bathing, Greek culture, hiking, water sports and the flair of a Cretan holiday resort just waking up from hibernation await you.
  The centre of Philoxenia is surrounded by mountain villages, gorges, imposing mountains and a diverse coastal landscape with small bays and rocks.
  There are numerous opportunities to explore the area on foot directly from the hotel.
  The village of Plakias (approx. 30 minutes walk) offers possibilities of a holiday resort that is slowly opening its doors again after the winter...
  By public transport from Plakias you can reach the towns of Rethymnon, Chania and Heraklion.
  Some sights such as the monastery of Preveli and its famous palm beach are nearby.
  
  Baden, griechische Kultur, Wandern, Wassersport und der Flair eines kretischen Urlaubsortes, der gerade aus dem Winterschlaf erwacht, erwarten Dich.
  Das Zentrum Philoxenia ist umgeben von Bergdörfern, Schluchten, imposanten Bergen und einer vielfältigen Küstenlandschaft mit kleinen Buchten und Felsen.
  Direkt vom Hotel aus gibt es zahlreiche Möglichkeiten, die Gegend zu Fuß zu erkunden.
  Der Ort Plakias (ca. 30 Gehminuten) bietet Möglichkeiten eines Ferienortes, der langsam seine Tore nach dem Winter wieder öffnet..
  Mit öffentlichen Verkehrsmitteln ab Plakias kannst Du die Städte Rethymnon, Chania und Heraklion erreichen.
  Einige Sehenswürdigkeiten wie das Kloster Preveli und sein berühmter Palmenstrand liegen in der Nähe.
