  We have just moved to Greece :))
  Woman - family very needed from the end of August 'til the beginning of November!
  
  Hello dear Workawayers!!
  Here Marta (37, Italian), Michal (42, Czech) + Mia (7), Elio (4) and little girl Saša (1).
  
  Marta - full time mom, more into foraging, wild herbs and arts&crafts, plus yoga, singing and dance.
  Michal - musician, piano player, choir director.
  The kids - they are just - kids! Very lovely, very loud, very wild, often challenging, a bit dirty - you will learn to love them!
  
  We have freshly moved from Czech Republic to Greece and we need HELP! :)
  
  We found "our" place in northern Peloponnese, near the village of Seliana, and we are in the process of buying a piece of land next to our good friends from Liveloula Steven and Chenny (you can also find them on Workaway as hosts, have a look and be convinced this is just the place you need to visit!).
  Our vision: we need to reconstruct an old building as a temporary house for the first year or two, start landscaping, maybe keep a couple of chicken and goats for the beginning. Later we can imagine to share the land with another family with kids, and we would also like to organize summer camps for families with kids in the beautiful nature of the Peloponnese mountains.
  
  But now we are just at the beginning of our adventure! At the moment we are camping near our friends' land, however Michal will be gone for about two months (end of August - end of October) so I, Marta, will need a good willing pair of helping hands - to watch the kids (homeschooled, so they are all day around), play with the baby sometimes, cook and just be there for the one-million-little-things I won't be able to do while alone. We are looking for a woman or couple, or even a family with kids (not too little though), someone who:
  - is PATIENT but lively and active
  - sincerely enjoys spending time with kids (and adults) - a little experience (as a nanny, mom, auntie, teacher, sister, homeschooler, unschooler, worldschooler...) is a plus, but not required. Good will, flexibility, open heart and a looot of patience are.
  - is respectful to children and takes them as normal people, but is also able to set boundaries with them (speaking one of their languages not necessary for that! If you are clear, they always understand)
  - loves wild nature. Because here it is beautiful and wild!
  - is responsible, fast learning, but firstly eager to learn, active, does not wait for an "input" to do what needs to be done, independent
  - has experience in living on her own
  
  ...And what can we offer??
  Even if we are in the wild Peloponnese mountains, there is a very lively community of friends here around: people from all over the world, about 30 living here around, many more coming and going. Meeting, sharing, helping each other - so if you are afraid of loneliness, you will be quite surprised!
  You will be welcome and treated as part of the family and the "community".
  We try to go to the seaside once or twice a week (the closest town is Akrata), we can offer one free spot in our car.
  In Seliana there is also the ecoculture-center ReGreen, a very beautiful and inspiring place - google it! And google Liveloula (near Seliana) to be even more inspired.
  We cook healthy super tasty organic food when together with our friends, whose spaces (outside kitchen, dry toilets, shower) we are using now. They have an incredible food forest and permaculture garden they get most of the veggies from!
  Our kids are a bit shy but also wild when approaching a new person, but if you are determined and patient, you will win their heart and they will win yours :))
  
  You can come earlier and leave later than the mentioned term, a helping hand is always welcome.
  We prefer long term stays, one month is the minimum, but the longer, the better. We have experience as volunteers, too, so we know both sides of the "coin" and it always takes some time to get used to the new place and people, to go deeper into it and start also really enjoying. For us it is also easier not to have a change in volunteers every two weeks, having to explain everything again etc. And the kids - and we, too! - are always sad when someone good is leaving... :)
  
  Here there is plenty of amazing, tasty organic food, friends, children's laugh and cry, streams, waterfalls, starry nights, cats, dogs, lush green...staying here for a while will for sure warm your heart!
  
  Accomodation: depending on how long we will stay in tents, you will also get a nice spot and a tent if you don't have one. Also, there is space for a campervan if you have one, wonderful spots for tents by the frozen stream full of dragonflies, shadow and crystal water. If we find a little house for rent and move there, you'll stay with us if the house is big enough, otherwise don't worry, we'll find a solution!
  
  Warning: living here, in the wonderful wild nature is fantastic and - as it happened to us many years ago - this place and people will probably stay innyour heart forever! However, living off-grid is not only romantic and for someone can be challenging: no wi-fi here, but there are spots good enough to do videocalls. You might also spend one month or more in a tent, depending on the period of the year. Dry toilets with a view :)

  Maybe we are not the most demanded destination in Europe - "just" a small village in the Czech countryside - but we are an open, playful family, willing to take you as a member of us and to share life, talks, trips, friends, games, music, languages...and whatever will come out "naturally" during our time together, as long as our energy-level allows however...
  You will also learn much about small children, too - does it sound boring? I can ensure you it is a very exciting, funny, adventurous world! Maybe you will even learn some (Czech or) Italian by listening to us speaking to the kids.
  Together we can do plenty of nice stuff, like practicing yoga, baking cookies with the kids, painting, playing music and singing, making barefoot shoes or stamps, talk in front of a hot tea or glass of wine in the cold and long winter evenings.

  Ajuda

  We mostly need some help with the kids and even more with basic household. Every day tasks include being with the children, going for walks with them (as soon as they start feeling at ease with you...and you with them!), caressing the cats from time to time :-), preparing breakfast, cooking, spending some time every day trying to prevent the house from "exploding" with stuff everywhere, doing the washing-up, helping us with simple everyday house-tasks in and around the house...
  
  Actually - (almost) all the work is simple and fun and there is always place for talking and taking decisions about your work together.
  
  You don´t need any specific skills, just the will to help our family, to share everyday life and to truly love children - for me this means to really, sincerely have fun with them and not to treat them as "only a small child", talking to them seriously, too, and speak to them like to a human being (unfortunately this is very rare in adults...). It is also very important that you are able to set your own rules and boundaries with them.
  We believe in investing a lot of time and energy into parenting and for us it is very important to behave to the children just normally and truly. We try not to scream at them (not always we succeed...) , to treat them with respect and to find solutions together.
  
  We know you need some time to get used to a new place and people, and to get to know the children, too (they need the same!) - so don´t be afraid - we don´t expect everything to work perfectly from the beginning, just give it a try with good will and heart.

  Acomodação

  We live in a house with Michal´s grandparents and our two cats(who are mostly outside or watching tv with grandparents). The flats are separate however, so you will live together with us (Marta, Michal, Mia, Elio, sometimes the cats also appear) in our house which is in the upper floor. You will have a room on your own with sight on the garden and the whole village. We cook mostly vegetarian, but Michal´s mom will be happy to cook for you some not vegetarian Czech meal if you wish :-)

  We are other platforms and Workaway in the past years (Greece, Czech Republic). This means we know a little what volunteering is - and is not - about.
  
  We will welcome you as a member of our family and we need from you...to behave like that.
  This means we share everyday life, have fun together but also that we all have some "roles" or "duties" in the household and we really ask you to be active in trying to see what needs to be done. Sometimes we just do´t have the time to follow you and tell you step by step what needs to be done...if you see something you think needs to be done, just go for it!
  So in general we need responsible, independent and active people.
  
  Also, we try to be flexible with you and discuss everyone´s needs and we don´t like to "count the working hours".
  
  However, after some not very good experiences with volunteers in the past, we feel to say - we need you to fulfill more or less that working time and stay open to discussion. We like to talk very openly also about problems that might show up and things we don´t like or we think do´t work in order to make them better, find solutions together and avoid misunderstandings or frustration - we expect you do the same with us! We believe that´s the only way this interaction and sharing can work well.
