Hi everyone! My name is Leanna, I live near Boston, Massachusetts and I go to school in California. I traveled for a year last year and did a bunch of workaways/volunteering in Europe and Central America.

They were all fantastic experiences, I loved the people and the work! I am now looking for work this summer!

Some more things about me:
I’m a very happy and interested person, I love learning new things and am super open to pretty much anything. I find my happiness from spending time with my friends and family, hard work, being outside, and traveling of course! While I love traveling alone, I am a big people-person and love to talk to anyone. I have met so many amazing interesting people while traveling and I'm excited to meet more.

In terms of Workaway work, I am interested in doing outdoor work/gardening, hostel reception, simple construction/physical labor, animal care, any housework, etc. I am totally happy doing simple chores and am not afraid to get my hands dirty! I also love to learn how to do new things and am quick to pick things up. At my past Workaways I have done childcare, gardening, construction/building, taking care of animals (horses, alpacas, chickens), simple plumbing, and of course house chores. I enjoyed each job :)

I'm studying environmental science in school and have worked in conservation so environmental preservation is something very important to me. I am so fortunate to be able to travel and study in a university and I'm looking to give more than I take from the world. I'm looking for meaningful work that challenges me.

I have 2 sisters who are my best friends and 2 cats. (also my best friends)

I take any opportunity I can to be in nature. I love hiking, swimming in the ocean, or just plain walking whenever I can- it really does feed the soul! I have spent every summer of my life camping. I love human beings always but I'm also very content having time to myself.

I took German in high school for 3 years so I can communicate and comprehend somewhat. I don't have much other language exposure but I would love to expand my knowledge of any language! I'm learning Spanish now in college too :)

I have experience in many different areas,

I am a fast learner in new environments and have years of experience working with all types of people (a passion of mine). I have a positive attitude and ability to be creative, gentle, communicative, and assertive when necessary.

In many of my jobs I have done mostly outdoor work, meaning construction, building, pulling weeds, moving rocks. I really fell in love with hard physical work and spending my days outside. I would love to do more of this in my upcoming volunteer opportunities.

I have worked 6 years in food service, and some retail, lots of working with people. I love working in teams and find that is where I thrive.
