Hi! My name is Valeria, I’m 34 years old, and I’m originally from Ukraine.
I lived in Ukraine until 2022, when the war began, and since then, I’ve been traveling the world, exploring new cultures and gaining invaluable experiences. I’ve visited 42 countries so far, and I’m currently living in Colombia, a country that has captured my heart. My first visit here was in 2023 during a work trip, and I fell in love with the vibrant culture, warm people, and stunning landscapes, so I decided to return for a longer stay.

Professionally, I work remotely as a Product Owner and Business Analyst in the IT industry. However, at the end of last year, I decided to take a break from work after experiencing burnout. This pause allowed me to recover and recharge, and now I feel ready to dedicate my time and energy to something meaningful—volunteering. I’ve always dreamed of traveling while contributing to local communities, learning more about their culture, and becoming a part of their daily lives.

My volunteering experience includes:
- Social projects: providing professional services for non-profit organizations.
- Environmental initiatives: tree planting and territory cleaning.
- Creative work: painting, decorating, and creating murals.
- Support for shelters: assisting with children and animals.

In my free time, I enjoy practicing yoga, meditating, studying psychology, drawing for fun, and dancing salsa and bachata. I also participate in retreats and spiritual ceremonies, which have deepened my understanding of myself and the world around me.

I believe volunteering is a powerful way to build connections, exchange knowledge, and ideas, and make the world a better place. I’m open, enthusiastic, and ready to contribute my skills, energy, and creativity to any project that could benefit from them.

My Skills and Abilities

I’m a highly adaptable person with a wide range of practical and creative skills. Here are some of the things I can offer:
- Cooking and Housekeeping: I enjoy cooking and can prepare delicious meals inspired by my cultural background. I’m also skilled in maintaining order, cleaning, and organizing spaces efficiently.
- DIY and Home Improvement: I have experience with small-scale renovation tasks such as painting walls, applying wallpaper, and decorating spaces.
- Art and Creativity: I studied in an art school for 11 years as a teenager and have strong artistic skills. I’ve created murals in Kyiv and designed custom wall art for friends. I’m experienced with various art materials, including oil, acrylic, watercolor, pastel, clay, and plasticine. Additionally, I’ve crafted handmade jewelry for myself and friends.
- Photography: While not a professional photographer, I enjoy capturing moments with my phone, and friends often compliment my photos.
- Analytical and Organizational Skills: I have strong analytical abilities and can assist with creating and managing spreadsheets, organizing inventory, or preparing administrative documents.
- Professional Skills: I can help draft requirements for online platforms or websites and collaborate effectively with developers.
- Communication and Customer Service: I have excellent communication skills. During university, I worked as a waitress, bartender, and even a restaurant administrator, gaining valuable interpersonal experience.
- Animal Care: I love animals and have experience taking care of them, including providing basic home treatments for sick pets.
- Yoga and Meditation: As someone who has practiced yoga and meditation for years, I can lead basic yoga or mindfulness sessions.

I’m eager to use these skills to contribute to meaningful projects, assist others, and learn even more along the way!
