After years of working in media and politics I needed a break from my job and decided for a sabbatical, that started n April 25.
I would like to use the year to relax, find new energy and strenght. Also I want to travel and work as a volunteer.

I hope this gap year gives me the opportunity to think about my old lifestyle and maybe start something new. Working as a volunteer might give me some inspiration. I want to experience new things, find out which skills might be undiscovered so far ;-)

I'm a very open minded person, who likes to get to know new people and explore new countries and cultures. I've travelled a lot throughout Europe, studied, lived and worked abroad (Great Britan, Poland). My colleagues describe me as well organised, creative and determined. I'm definitly a team-player and don't take myself too serious.

I like country-music and since my childhood Canada was always the destination of dreams, because of the beautiful landscape and the multicultural society. As well I'm very interested in the life of the First Nations.

While I was living in a big city at home, I liked to go to photo-exhibitions, cinema, cafes and restaurants. But I know I'm not addicted to that lifestyle. :-) During my sabbatical I want a change in my life. Getting connected closer to nature and the simple things seem to be the right way ro achive this.

Que habilidades tienes?

At university I studied history, journalism and English. I worked for several radio-stations as a journalist, making interviews, writing and presenting the news. I also worked for the society of the German-minority in Poland, helping with cultural and media projects to promote the German language and encourage friendship and understanding between the Polish majority and the German minority.
For the last ten years I worked in the press office of the regional parliament of Saxony-Anhalt. My job: Writing articles for the webpage, taking pictures, making videos and create positings for social media.
For many years I cared for my beloved grandmother, who was very ill and couldn't leave her bed for a long period, before she died. I did everything for her: reading the newspaper, helping to get dressed, preparing her meals, help her with body hygiene, talking about daily life...

I also have a niece and a nephew, I'm in charge of from time to time. So I have some experience with kids as well.

My grandparents where farmers and had some lifestock and a huge vegetable and fruit garden, so I'm familiar with that kind of life even though I have to admit, that I didn't had to help that often :-) But I'm not afraid of trying and learning new things. That also applies for any tasks in the household (like cooking, cleaning ,..)
