Hi,

My name is Lieve and I have been working abroad as an English teacher for the last 10 years, working in diverse countries and cultures, from India to China, Vietnam, Malta and currently in Ecuador (through Workaway).

I absolutely love travelling and learning about different cultures and have found travelling more rewarding when I can stay in a place for a little while and get to feel the vibe and pace of life. Connecting with local people makes travel much more interesting and rewarding. I don't want to rush from one touristy place to another, although I always plan to visit some tourist attractions whilst I am visiting a country. I am a keen hiker and prefer being in nature, or in location with access to nature.

At present I am travelling through parts of South America (Ecuador, Bolivia, Peru and Colombia) and am hoping to find Workaway projects along my journey. Although I am a teacher by profession and I am happy to take on English teaching/conversation short term project , I am not just looking for teaching work, but would really like to do a variety of jobs that get me into touch with local people and hopefully give me the opportunity to practice my Spanish.

Hi, I am a teacher by profession, but am able to do other jobs. In the UK I have a big garden and I love spending time tending to my vegetables patch. I love being outdoors but am equally capable of helping out with kitchen duties, general household chores etc. I am not great with DIY, and am not an IT wizzkid but know the basics. I am just interested in jobs that do not require any particular skills as such, but I am a quick learner and can wield a paintbrush...

I love hiking... but perhaps not the long arduous hikes I used to do a few years ago... I also like cycling, but prefer to cycle on flat terrain..

Lieve is a great English teacher with lots of experience and who had lots of extra material on hand, apart from our base books. She worked well with both teenagers and adults, online and in person. I would recommend her as a workawayer to anyone who is looking for a teacher or any other help in English. We hope to see you back in the future!

A great experience helping out with the 'less visibile side of running the hostel'. As a volunteer I stayed in Evelin's home and helped with the laundry ... the many sheets and towels used and changed daily at a busy hostel.
